This is a small book. It is physically small. It is not long. Those are not bad things. They make the book fun and easy reading. You could easily carry this book in your arse pocket for quick access when riding the bus — or whatever, eh b'ys?
Fast-moving science-fiction featuring one of the gem-dandiest races of aliens I've seen in a long time. The Tarbizhad are vicious and they will gobble you up, eat you alive. Humans are their fodder.
And you know what? They will be back...as hungry as ever.
I recieved this book off Goodreads for my honest opinion. I enjoyed this book! It was a very entertaining read. The characters were well written and I found it easy to imagine the storyline. Some parts off the book took me by surprise which I really enjoyed.
Abhuman was absolutely amazing. I was immediately sucked into a world where everything seemed like it was suppose to function with order, but then the unthinkable happened one day. From there everything got crazy for Cheska as she learned about who and what she really was. And as a reader you wanted to jump into the story and help her along the way because she was young and virtually alone in a new (or new to her) world. Though she handled everything thrown at her fairly well, in most instances.
The world created by Hugh B. Long is phenomenal. One minute your in an inhabitable part of the world, the next your in a deserted wasteland trying to get to safety. And then you find out the truth behind why the planet is even a deserted wasteland and you're left in shock because it kind of makes you think about the potential damage that we're doing to our own planet. Though what was done here was intended, and what we're doing is not the intent.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series and see what happens next for the characters. I'm eager to see how their futures pan out, and to read more from Hugh B. Long.
