Confident, likable, yet sometimes a di*k - a few words that describe Dawson James. He could blame his foster system upbringing for some of it. This same upbringing also drove him to be a successful tycoon where crushing people in business has become second nature.
Alexa Ryan, however, had been raised in a small town by loving parents. She’s off to find her destiny, but her rural past is hindering her job prospects.
When Alexa is finally offered a job as a temp at Dawson’s company, these two opposites connect and desire and passion ignite. Alexa is determined to fight off his cocky charms and keep things professional.
But, as they come to know each other, her barriers start to come down. Is there more to this guy than his playboy persona?
(Perfect for readers of J.S. Scott.)

Well, this book wasn't that bad, but let's just say, it contained far too much CHEESE. Normally, I love CHEESE, but this one was wayyyyyy too cheesy for my liking. To be honest, I felt the urge to put it down several times while reading it. I don't know why I kept hanging on, but somehow, I managed to finish it eventually.
There was too much filler and not enough plot. The story moved so slowly, it sent me to sleep. The conversations between Alexa and her friend didn't contribute a lot to the overall plot. Anyway, those were more minor issues for me. What disappointed me the most about this novella was the absence of the drama. There was no drama here! How come??
However, the good thing about this book was the characters, especially the hero, Dawson. They had enough depth to make me believe in the persons they'd become and understand why they thought or did many things as they did.
I know my review might sound quite negative, but I can honestly say that I didn't hate this book. It wasn't a total train wreck, but it wasn't memorable either. It was just meh.
2 stars then.
**I received this free copy from the author with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book for my honest opinion.
Word of warning: Please read the sample download before spending your hard earned cash on this bundle of assorted "special snow flake meets billionaire" cliches. Such as: - a billionaire hero who seems to only meet gold-diggers.
- a hero who reflects in mild disgust on the fake boobs and lashes of the gold-digging (of course) woman he spent the previous night with. (A woman who I might add is still warming his bed at the time of these inner musings...)
- a heroine who's only had sex "a time or two" and secretly wonders if she's frigid. (At least she wasn't a virgin. So there's that... )
- an "outgoing and extroverted" best friend who usually has "a string of men at her beck and call".
- snarky women who respond to our dear sweet innocent heroine's "friendly smile" by "turning up their noses and totally ignoring her".
And these examples are just from the first 5 chapters of this book.
Too much clichés. A poor, innocent, mostly inexperience (good point: at least she wasn't a virgin), girl meets a handsome self made billionnaire with a dark past. I could almost tick all the requirement boxes for that kind of book. But I could have let pass the very unoriginal story if it wasn't riddled with something I absolutely dislike: the heroine was a one kind of girl, not like the other women who all want money and power, who all are superficial, who are all sluts. And this was repeated every pages or so. It really grated on my feminist nerves that it felt like there was a need to bash all the womankind in order to elevate the heroine.
Billionaire Boss by Kira Blakely a hot and heavy five star read. This is the first book in the company ink series. This book tells the story of Dawson he runs his own major business, and made his first Billion by the time he was 30 years old. He is a very determined young man and has been always been a fighter, he was set on a path by one man and he is determined to complete that path. He wants to own everything that walks through the doors to his business, until she walks through the doors, the one woman who his money doesn’t matter with as she doesn’t care about it, she just wants to make enough money to pay her rent. Lexie is a breath of fresh air, she is sweet, innocent and shy, unlike all the other women in Dawson’s life. This book is an amazing read that you can’t put down.
An amazing tittle and a great cover what does that mean? It means that I'm hooked. Lol. I'm serious... Kira Blakely is another new author to me and I can assure you that if her other books are like this one I'm another girl to be added to her fan club. Lol Her writing is simple and pretty detailed with a touch of sassy stuff into the mix. And here's the thing, I love when a book is told in the third person. I really do. It's a way for me to feel like I belong to it, it feels like the story is being told just for me. Billionaire Boss tells the story of Dawson and Alexa. His life wasn't easy. It started with his mother abandonment because she preferred heroin instead of her son. So you can guess what that did to him being sent to foster care . He always dreamed of becoming a successful man in life and business but life can be tricky sometimes. He had a series of situations that made him the way he is and to not trust any woman. But sometimes..... Alexa grew up with her parents, living in a farm and loving it. She was always the good girl loved by everyone but in her teens she started to being bullied and that was making her feel small and sad. Until she met Laura. They both have the same goals, find a good job, get lots of money and live life to the limit. Although Alexa wants to find her happily ever afterbut life can surprise us for the better or for the worse. We just have to belive in that. When she meets Dawson this will happen but what will it be? Love? Lust? Both?. This book is the journey of both characters since they were kids till full adults. Things will happen that will shape their characters and also give them a better view of life in general. I just love a book that can make me imagine the characters growing up. I loved it very much but I'm sad.... Wanna know why? Because I want more. I want to keep reading and reading. Thank God there is going to be another book because I have so many questions.....
Alexa Ryan needs a job and fast as her savings is dwindling. She refuses to move back home to her parents because then she'll feel like she failed. She's been applying for jobs everywhere when she finally lands an interview with Dawson James Offices for receptionist. After the interview she hopes she is called for the job. Not even a day and she gets the call the she's hired and life couldn't be better.
Dawson James is a bad boy from the wrong side of town who started proving every one of his doubter wrong when he created his own company and became a self made billionaire. Growing up poor and in foster care made him want to help those left fortunate so he did. His personal assistant is leaving him to go on maternity leave and now he needs a new one. This is where Ms. Ryan comes into play.
The two of them together is causing for some extreme sexual tension. Alexa refuses to give in and Dawson refuses to give up. This is a romantic story and worth the read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I don't often leave a bad review but this time I have to. I'm giving it two stars because it's the start of something great but the story is rushed with little character development. It ends in an odd place despite the face it could have been so much more. The formatting is bad and there is misuse of words. If the author cleans it up and continues the story it could be something great.
Arc review for honest review. Dawson and Aston are foster best friends but Dawson has some hard times and meet Ralph who help him because a man . when ralp dies he gives him the gym to grow a future . till he meets alexa who sets his world a flame.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Kira Blakely, and I must say, it was awesome, and it will not be the last. I loved the characters of Dawson James and Alexa Ryan. Dawson was very handsome, arrogant, freaking sexy, did I say sexy, billionaire, and adorable in the HOTTEST way!! Alexa moved to the city because she wanted a different life than where she came from—a small town. When Alexa interviewed for a receptionist position at Dawson’s company, she was videotaped so that Dawson could see the candidates. Dawson thought Alexa had drive, ambition, and a sense of purpose for the position. Alexa got the job working for Dawson James, the self-made billionaire as a receptionist. When Alexa meets Dawson for the first time, the chemistry between them grows more potent the more time they spend together. I cannot wait to find out what happens next. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.
Billionaire Bad Boy's is a three books in one. All stand alone with HEA's. It tells the story of three self made men, and the very independent women who they fall in love with. Every story was so well written, a sooooo HOT & SEXY!
Book 1 Dawson, follows Dawson and Alexis. Dawson spent his whole life in foster homes, and in the foster system. He became determined to make it in this world. He would be that someone that people thought he'd never be. Alexis had a regular, normal childhood at home with her patents, but was bullied in school. She decides to move from their small town to the city with her best friend. She ends up working for Dawson. The heat and passion between these two, WOW! I loved their story the best. I found myself rooting for them.
Book 2, Ashton follows Ashton and Laura. Ashton another child who was dumped into the foster system at a young age by a mother who didn't want him. Ashton spent his whole life fighting. Even though they had a crappy childhood, he and Dawson remain friends throughout this into adulthood. Proving that their friendship can prevail over anything that life throws their way. Laura who's sole reason for being born was for her dying brother. She was never loved by her parents. Both of them making it known that she wasn't wanted. She and Alexis become best friends while in school. They decide to move to the big city together to find a better life, one they deserve. The chemistry between Ashton and Laura was SMOKING HOT! And I loved the build up of their relationship.
Book 3 Jackson, is Jackson and Hope's story. Jackson grew up in the hood, with both his parents, who were both addicts. He and Ashton become friends. To the outside world, Jackson had a good life. However, at home his life was anything but good. He and Ashton become billionaires by creating an app. Hope, meets Alexis and Laura when she moves in next door to them in the apartment complex. She has very hard to reach goals, with a heavy workload. Relying on grants for her research. She finds it very difficult to have any type of relationship. But isn't too concerned about that. She is determined to make a big difference in the world, and help people. However her stepfather has made it known he's not impressed with her path in life. As with the other couples in the book Jackson and Hope had very intense chemistry. And the love between them wouldn't back down.
This was actually my first read from Kira Blakley. And holy smokes I definitely want to read more. As an author she held my attention with the characters in Billionaire Bad Boys. I was rooting for them to get the HEA's they all deserved. Beware this book is SMOKING HOT! Holy hell the sex scenes... WHOA! Definitely a one click book!

➵aaaaaaaaa➵ What I liked or Didn’t like: This is my first book by Kira Blakely and it won’t be my last. Even though this was a novella the characters were well developed and likeable. The chemistry between the characters was HOT HOT HOT!!! Only thing missing was a bit of an epilogue so we know if they make it or not.
This is a great short read and the beginning in the Company Ink series. It follows cocky, handsome billionaire Dawson and the sweet and caring Alexa. Boy does she try to fight the attraction between them but the more she gets to know him the more she lets him in. I really enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between them is off the scale!! Can't wait to read more.
Given this is a book 1 in a series I was particularly happy that it ended with a happy for now pause in the story telling. The story stood well on its own with a compassionate and caring leading lady, opposite Dawson, a man whose childhood forged a determined man with profound inner strength.
Dawson is on the cynical, perhaps bitter end of the scale when he meets Alexa, which leaves a lot of room for personal growth. Alexa on the other hand has a very different perspective on life, and just might be able to teach the successful businessman a little something about life.
If I don't read further in this series, I will feel as those I had a good, solid, experience with these characters, even as I recognize there is more story to tell.
This was the first time reading this author. I loved the story, but it felt like the book was ended too soon. It would be nice if there is more for Alexa and Dawson. I will be watching. Overview. Alexia moved to the city to build a new life. She is a simple country girl trying to survive in the city. She is given a break when she lands an interview as a temp receptionist for Billionaire Dawson James. Dawson James did not grow up rich. In fact he grew up in and out of the foster care system. Now he has built his company and he helps others as well. But he hates that people only see him as dollar signs. That is until he sees Alexa's interview. But when they meet and get to know each other, both know something bigger is happening.
Dawson James...a well known rich playboy who was a player. Alexa a small town girl with no nonsense type of personality. Dawson's company was hiring a new receptionist and Alexa was there for an interview.
All interview were recorded so Dawson could see which one he would like to offer a job. After going through many interview tapes when he was about to quit he click on yet another tape. Alexa face came up.
Being intrigued by Alexa he hires her for the receptionist position. then the fun starts.....
Bought this book after getting the prequel for free and enjoyed the different writing style. So I bought the next book and I am pleased to say that I really enjoyed it. Two people from totally different backgrounds get together. He's had a hard life and worked hard for everything he's got. She from a small country where everyone knows each other and looking for a change. She's about to give up on her dream of finding a job in the city when she lands a temp job and things roll on from there. Would I recommend this book YES

This was a really good short read book. I was looking for something for the night and this was perfect. I really loved Alexa and how she tried to see the best in everyone. I liked how she showed Dawson that there is another way to view the world. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick read.
In this book you get 3 books, book one you have Dawson and Lexi, book 2 you have Ashton and Laura and finally in book 3 you have Jackson and Hope. 3 couples overcoming their pasts and finding love. Good job! *I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book *
Great start to a hot and steamy book. This is the prequel so we're just getting to know our billionaire bad boy and the down to earth woman that will tempt his heart.
I received this book in advance for my honest review.
I was hoping this book would be longer. When reading on my kindle it was finished and it said 47% complete. I think it has great potential but was to short.
