Doctor Amanda Lacey has spent most of her life being the perfect daughter because of an unshakable need to prove her parents made the right choice by adopting her. Amanda hasn't always lived the life she lives now, there was a time she went hungry for days and was afraid to close her eyes. But that was years ago and now she's the daughter of a Judge and Yale Professor and a talented doctor in her own right. She has no room in her life for anyone or anything that her parents will disapprove of.
Nikolai Prakenski lives life fast and loose. He enjoys running his strip club and entertaining ladies. His ready smile and model good looks hide his dangerous side. What most don't know is he is the underboss, the second in command of the Russian mob. Nikolai knows that Amanda is out of his league especially by the looks of disdain she shoots him. But when her and a group of colleagues come into his club one night all bets are off.
Ariel is a Massachusetts native battling this New England wheather. She has an unhealthy obsession for music and literature. She loves learning about other cultures and different languages which probably accounts for the fact that she has more music in Korean, Chinese, Italian and German then English.
Writing helps her achieve some much needed adventure since she is a dedicated homebody.
Nickolai (mobster) and Amanda (doctor) were perfectly odd together but it works so well in "I Deserve It." Amanda fights for Nikolai and he does the same for Amanda until... until... he sees.... no spoiling anything for no one!
LOL... Read this series! You will enjoy it even though it ends in a darn cliffy!
Children do not owe their parents anything. They have the right to determine their own way in life whether the parents think it is right or wrong. The child will learn from that experience. Dr. Amanda Lacey did not have a life of her own. Her entire adult life was what her bourgie parents wanted for her. When she fell in love with Nikolai Prakenski, she had an ongoing battle of her heart and mind. Nikolai had already told her he did not do relationships, but he found himself in a mental battle as well. He knew that any woman in his life would be a target because of his mob association. He was scared to lose Amanda after another attempt on his life and pushed her away with no explanation. They both realized they were miserable apart. Nikolai finally had the sense to have that heart-to-heart talk with Amanda and let her choose. She chose him. It seems as though they get their HFN. There will always be something happening in their lives, but that is with anyone's life.
I liked this way more than Yaz & alek book. It was a little cringe that niko treated Amanda so coldly & she was still chasing him around like a kicked puppy. He should have had to do some groveling to get her to even talk to him again. Instead, he motions for her to come to him & she goes without pause. Give these women some backbone. Men aren't the only ones allowed to have pride & dignity. I also noticed in both books that the men are described as highly sexual with niko calling himself a "freak," yet both couples have the most vanilla sex. In what world do only the men go down, but the women never do? Niko & Amanda intimacy seemed stiff & boring at times because niko did everything. This was also the case in alek & Yaz story. I mean, Yaz is an exotic dancer but was only doing boring missionary stuff. You expect your readers to believe these young women are only using their hands on their men? Come on, be serious. That would be boring to the average man, much less rich, gorgeous & sexually adventurous men like niko. & alek. What century is the author in to think " good girls" don't do fellatio.
This is the sequel to Body Language: My Sexy Russian and here we get to know Nikolai and Dr. Amanda Lacey much better. We are introduced to their heavy flirting in Body Language and in this book, they both give into their attraction. At first, Nikolai is totally against having a real relationship with anyone, he just wants to get her into bed but honestly, he just extremely arrogant and this is fitting for a Russian mob boss, so there's that. I wasn't really feeling how he was behaving with Amanda, TBH. She kept with it though. She's a bit reckless with him cuz she knows he's no good given his profession and well, she's a doctor from a proper family. But, the chemistry is too much to ignore. I liked reading about them, but I enjoyed Nikolai's cousin, Alek's story a bit more. We're left with a good old-fashioned cliffhanger, but have no fear, book 3, Using You is available and we get to read of Ilya and Nana's story in there.
Let me first say that I liked Nikolai & Amanda. I imagined Nikolai to be older than 29, but I digress. This story had quite a bit of Action, that kept me interested in what would happen next. AMANDA is a sweet girl who needs a little more backbone when dealing with her parents. NIKOLAI is something else he is a man that gets whatever and whoever he wants. I liked this book and can’t wait to read book 2.
I Deserve It, started with a bang and finished with an explosive ending. This story was filled with action, mystery, sexual tension, deceit and murder. This is the beginning of Niko and Amanda's story.
Cliffhanger ending … Was not prepared for that to happen! Need Wedding between Yaz & Alex. We need to know who killed Vidor? Hopefully for another book because I need my HEA.
A storytelling that I went through a lot of emotions with.
The characters were impressive and I was captivated to the end. Its a must read if you love romance story cliffhangers. I am hoping that it contains more of the characters and their relationships.
This was a very nice story, but it was to short. Amanda's parents seem like they adopted her just to satisfy the people they knew. I can't wait for the book.
Even though Makayla dissapeared why didn't Nikolai tell Alek the real reason she gave him for why she dated him and then aborted his bab??? He could of then had his closure.
I hate cliffhangers with no follow-up story. It's annoying and s major turn-off for me. How do you leave your readers hanging and don't follow through?

This is the first time I am reading this author. I like the strength of the female and the vulnerability that is evident in the male. Looking forward to part 2.
The ending has me wanting to drown someone. Why oh why are authors writing all these books with no heads up of an upcoming release date for the second one, or even a clue as to if there will be a second story. So we are left with incomplete stories and then I am left to forget the authors work! Thanks -_-
Ariel Arnold is fairly new to the scene if I remember correctly, so I will say that it makes me more lenient with some of the things I consider cons in a book. First, I think she needs to have a thorough editor. One that will not only catch misspelled words, but misplaced words like using "he" when you meant to write "the". Also, you need to catch when sentences aren't completed and just abruptly end. It left the reader wondering where the book was going to go before the next chapter began. Another tip would be to keep track of who is in the room. There were times when people were speaking to Yaz only to have Amanda's name there instead. Also, I will admit I'm a stickler on the pacing of books. It seemed like the last 10 pages of the book just sped up too quickly, I understand that this is intended to be a series but obvious cliffhangers should be less abrupt.
So what did I like about the book? I loved the friendship between Yaz and Amanda. I feel like the story could have expounded on the tension between Bryce and Amanda instead of being a throwaway plot point. I liked Van, he reminds me of someone I know.
Even with all the things that I nitpicked in this book, it wouldn't deter me from reading the next installment. I can't wait too see who gets their time in the spotlight. I hope it's Ilya or Nana next.
I loved this book. I can't wait for the next book in the series so I can find out what is next for Amanda and Nickoli! I hope she doesn't wait too long to publish the next one.
I enjoyed and could definitely relate to Amanda's character with regard to the quandary between wanting to live her life on her own terms and not wanting to disappoint her parents. It's a curse that we people-pleasers live with everyday.
My only negative comment is that the author needs to make sure that the books is proof read throughly. It takes you out of the story when you have to substitute the correct word or spelling into the book.

Okay I love a good MOB story especially when it involves a little romance as well, this was a good solid read that can be really good if the writer gets another set of eyes to proof. The story moves at a good pace you don't get any down time, but what you are not getting is enough description of the characters are the scenes.I would love more as to set the next chapter so it all doesn't seem to just be on continuous monologue. This story has all the right elements just needs to a little help to make it happen.I look forward to the next installment and all the improvements.
Amanda and Nikolai's story was an interesting one. It wasn't as engaging as Alek and Yaz's story but up until a point I enjoyed it. There was a point where the story reaches its peak, and then things fall apart from there. From then on, cautious Amanda slips on her rose colored glasses and becomes a needy love lorn woman. It was a bit annoying. If not for the interesting drama and mob politics going on, it would have been a bit of a bore.
This was Nikola and Amanda's story. This couple were in the first book written by this author.
Although I loved this story too, I wished the author had allowed the couple to spend more time exploring and much more dialogue about their relationship issues. Amanda was way too controlled by her family and that douche they wanted her to be with.
I would have given this 5 stars but could not because of the miss use of words. I had to reread a few pages to understand what was happening. The switch between first person and third person in the same sentence was confusing.
Besides that, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read the next.
Started off with an intriguing plot. It unraveled well, with all the story lines spreading out then wrapping up at the end. But , I can't reconcile the ending. While it was done nicely. I just have questions. Then what is with spell checks and rereading your work before submitting? Try it!!
Wow this book was full of drama. I liked how it was connected to Body Language, but also stood on it's own. Niko and Amanda were explosive. I was captivated from beginning to end. Can't wait to read the next book. I hate cliffhangers!!! I noticed some editing errors but overall the book was great.
The first book was stronger in my opinion this book was a little more rushed with all the violence, murder and intrigue and less real romance and connection but it was still a pretty good read- I am assuming there is another book coming.
There were a lot of typo's and missing words and misspelled and misused words in this book especially towards the end. Please in the next installment proofread a little better. The storyline is very good, but the errors take away from the story
