Long before there was The Walking Dead there was Deadworld. Here is a collection of short stories from the pages of Deadworld, one of the longest running zombie titles in the comics market. Deadworld has had over 100 issues and graphic novels released over the years and sold over 1 million copies.

A supernatural plague has been unleashed on the world. The dead return to walk the earth...but this is no standard zombie story. The dead are just soldiers for those who have crossed the Gateway. The classic tales, illustrated by the artist known as "the Deadworld artist" , Vince Locke, are presented as an the introduction to one of Deadworld's most popular characters, the Dead-Killer. This proves to be a great collection piece for fans to discover the compelling need to feed on the saga of Deadworld.

In Deadworld, death is only the beginning of the horror and this action packed assemblage of tales set in this zombie infested world illustrates perfectly the dilemma the humans face, not only from the hordes of zombies but from humans themselves.

This was a very handy volume in that it reprinted some stories from different sources that would have been almost impossible to track down. It's basically one shot stories and back ups from different anthology issues all in one volume. Some aren't important to the continuity, others are integral. The most important work here told the complete Deadworld saga up to this point in time, and then it's laid out it didn't seem nearly as confusing as it seemed on the first read through. Deadworld remains an underrated horror comic, and fans of the Walking Dead would probably be pleasantly surprised if they could get past the somewhat primitive presentation this comic had at times.

Was a weren't read. It wasn't what I was expecting as the stories were hard to follow sinçe I've never read any of the original stories. Still a good set of read for those fans of zombie tales.
