This was book 2 in the "A Year Agreement" series. This book picks up where the first one left off with Liam treating Jenna better and falling in love with her. Jenna is also realizing she is falling for Liam as well. When Jenna comes face to face with the mother that abandoned her she falls apart at Liam's company benefit no less and her mother doesn't even recognize her. I felt really bad for Jenna she sees that her mother left her to be with a man and she went on to have other kid's. Liam is their for her and wants to protect her from her mother. Lennon and Blake finally admit that they have feelings for each other with Jenna's help. I really liked how Liam admitted his feelings to Jenna on a beach in Barbados after getting into for him being later for dinner and after he see her talking to another man. This book also lacked sex scenes as well but in is something about this series that has drawn me in. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
2.5 stars. That’s being generous. Some errors. A bit juvenile, but I will press on to finish this. Not sure I will read much more from this author, a bit of research would have been useful. Like passports needed to go to another country…..
This story is actually really good but there are some things that just ruin it...
Her green eyes are mentioned many, many times and then all of a sudden they are big blue doe eyes?!?
Liam’s POV’s are pretty pointless as they just repeat scenes already written except for the end of his POV when you get his thoughts or feelings...Should have had his POV of his thoughts right after the scene happens and not later in the book.
You get two random POV’s from two other small side characters. Why?!? It was pointless and just messed up the flow.
She mentioned in the first book in high school she had a boyfriend she dated for a year. But then it was mentioned later she’d never kissed anyone. In this book she says she’s never dated or kissed anyone.
There are a bunch of typos. Words missing, extra words where they don’t need to be, spelled wrong, etc.
Jenna and Liam's story continues as Jenna accepts Liam's deal to be his fake wife for a year in exchange for money, but the things don't stay business as they should with Jenna's mother coming back in the equation in a way no one would have imagined and Liam's heart forms a soft spot for Jenna.
This is the second book in the trilogy. I've read this trilogy a number of times but I re-read it to review each book separately.
The book starts with the tension between Jenna and Liam and portrays how different their equation has become since the beginning.
Jenna was as usual kind and positive energy. I love how she got along with everyone, Liam's friends and parents. My heart breaks for Jenna, she endured so much. I am so angry with her mother for doing this to her and not even recognise her. She didn't even tell her new family about Jenna! I love how strong Jenna was, even after she had to go through horrible things because of her mother.
As for Liam, as expected, he did redeem himself from book one. His point of views were a delight to read and helped me understood his thoughts about the situation. His character arch was very prominent in the book. He went from a rude, cold-hearted arrogant guy to a loving and absolute sweetheart. I loved the way he remembered little things about Jenna, including where she wanted to visit. However, he did stand her up, by arriving very late on their first dinner date.
But I'm hoping, he has a good reason as to why he did that.
I loved how there was a small instance of Blake and Lennon and about their story. I loved reading and getting to know them more.
*Spoiler* However, I am really confused about something. In the first book, Jenna said she had had only one boyfriend in her junior year of high school, whereas in the second book, she says she didn't have any. That was a little bit confusing to me. *Spoiler over*
Overall, The book was enjoyable to read and I am hooked on it, I love how the romance and love between them grow over time. The book also has lots of unanswered questions which are to be answered in the third and final book. I cannot stop myself from not binging the book.
I haven't included many things in the review because they were to be mentioned in the review of the second and third books. Please note that this review is solely for the SECOND BOOK in the trilogy.
Jenna Howard and Liam Stanford’s story continues.... there’s more there than meets the eye. They are attracted to each other and the more time they spend together the more they realise this, but neither Jenna nor Liam wants to admit it.
The couple announce their engagement publicly and that changes Jenna’s life. She’s now the fiancé of one of NYC’s most eligible bachelors and with the help of Liam’s friend Jenna is brought into Liam’s world.
Jenna spends more time with Liam and his family and begins to get nervous that she’s going to fall apart when the contract ends losing Liam and his family. There are wedding preparations, lots of Pizza eating, a trip away, and a match making scene!
I liked this story it ended well leaving me ready for book 3
Getting hit in here? The game is over they've both lost their hearts. I really enjoyed this segment of this story, however, I really feel too much happens between he said and she said dialogue of happenings. Too much is repeated. But that's not gonna stop me from getting the next book. Can't wait to see what's next!
I liked this book, but hate that it ends, or doesn't end. I can't tell anymore. The last one ended in the middle and this one ended with love? What happened to the contract? Did they get married? You started so much in this book, her mom? I wish you would end the book instead of a cliffhanger!
That ending was cruel but at least the finally realized she’s the love of his life... gahhh.. I am glad the lemon and Blake are together too and I want to b$&@$ slap her f$&@?!@ mom
Although this is fiction I wanted more resolution. Especially with Jenna's mother. I liked that Liam and Jenna got together and admitted they loved each other but I wanted more. The ending left me hanging.
I should have known better than to start a wattpad book... Nope, Wattpad free stories are better than Wattpad paid stories and published stories. It's an honest opinion.
Good story line and character development BUT you need to remember little details when referring to items. First it was a pink teddy bear - then brown (just one example). Keep writing.
Jenna Howard was left by her mother at five years old and emancipated herself at seventeen to find out life doesn’t get any better just because you’re an adult. Working two dead end jobs just to keep herself above water, Jenna believes her life is just one big disappointment until a customer at the strip joint offers her the deal of a lifetime - marry him and he’ll pay her one million dollars. Despite her immediate convictions towards a stranger offering her this deal Jenna knows that the amount of money offered will change her life forever so she agrees. What she didn’t bargain for was the fact her husband-to-be could be quite cold and cruel towards her nor did she bargain for the fact that maybe - just maybe - she likes him more than she should?
I’ll be honest with you and admit that it was the cover of the first novel that grabbed my attention one day when I was perusing through the “recommended for you” category on amazon. I immediately downloaded it - big bonus it’s available on Kindle Unlimited for those of you that subscribe to that service - and read it within a couple of hours. I literally could not put it down. I also kept texting Lauren (my sister for those of you who aren’t aware or who have forgotten) throughout her night shift telling her that she must read it!
Liam was a bit of a douche at times and I know that’s what she was going for but sometimes some of the comments he came out with was a bit too much. However, once his gruff exterior was chipped away at by our heroine, I did find myself liking Liam very much and believe that Jenna and Liam were written very well by Kenadee Bryant.
A lot of drama unfolds throughout these three books such as Jenna’s biological mother making a reappearance but Bryant writes it great. The drama flows and doesn’t feel like it’s just been thrown into make the story a bit more exciting. She keeps you hooked so that you do want to read each novel as it came out - luckily for you guys, all three are all now published and there’s no waiting for you like I had to do!
My only critique is that the characters appeared to yell... a lot. I love novels that replace the word said with a different synonym but be practical about it. It was the only thing that irked me as I feel like the poor characters must have got exhausted yelling or shouting at each other all the time. However, this didn’t take away massively from how much I absolutely loved these books.
Marriage of convenience is my favourite cliche and I can safely say that Kenadee Bryant delivered with the Year Agreement so give it a shot!
Im super excited for the next book I need to know what's going to happened since they have confessed there love for each other. I love the story please keep the momentum going in the next book you rock Kenadee
The story is good. But it does multiple POV which is great, except when you change POV with Jenna and Liam it is basically a rehash of exactly the same scene. Boring.
