I'm a Byrne. Boston's in my blood. It's my city - and that goes for everything in it. Even Casey: a good girl trapped in a very bad place. I was supposed to be casing the Morello joint, but I ended up tasting her pinks. One kiss, and I was hooked. One night and I knew I had to have her. She can protest all she wants, but when she presses her curves against me, her moans tell a different story.
I could leave her to die. I should leave her to die. She made her bed, but I want to lie in it. Fifteen grand's nothing to me - but to Casey?
It's a lifetime.
And all I want in return for wiping her debt clean is four months. Four months to own her mind, her body, and her soul. Four months to coax sweet submission from those pouting lips.
Apparently someone didn't get the message. They didn't hear she's mine. But they'll find out...
When you cross the devil, you Byrne.
Let it Byrne is a standalone, novel-length mafia romance. Holly Hart's bad boys are dark and dirty, she hates cheating, and guarantees an HEA every time.
Librarian Note: There is more than one author by this name in the Goodreads database.
I make my bad boys jump from the frying pan into the fire, and straight into the heroine's bed. I like 'em bad, foul mouthed, and with eyes for the only woman in their life.
OK, so the premise of this book sold me BUT the story itself, NO sadly! I was going to just stop but ended up skimming since it wasn't a long story hoping it may have gotten better for me but it did not.
This was my first read by this author and although it wasn't my cup of tea, I still may try another read by her in the future.
I am totally confused by this book. I would read along thought it was going great and then bam it skipped ahead??!? I missed something....let me go back and check.....no...I didn't, but I am totally missing like a ton of info.
The first what the heck happened was when she left the apartment and got stuck with the bad guys. I turn the page and now I have Declan getting ready to rescue her? He didn't know she was gone, how is he now rescuing her?
Then throughout the story we have no mention of a kid or ex-whatever and they just pop up. At the beginning he wants her because he does and now it was for a totally other reason? WTH?! The bad guys want Casey why? Nothing is explained...we jump from being in a dungeon to a funeral. We hear the dad went to the hospital and we are at the funeral??
Nothing is explained nothing makes sense and we skip info vital to the story. Background on the characters would be nice!
It's fast-paced with plenty of action, it's dark, it's dirty, it's emotional, it's sexy, it's suspenseful... it's everything! Let it Byrne will suck you in and keep you turning the pages until the end.

Dark and gritty best describes this first in the new Byrne Brothers series by Holly Hart.
These five brothers of Irish decent, and living in the seedy part of Boston are Mafia royalty; respected and revered by the community they protect and serve, the name Byrne means power and influence. But the battle for territory is a given in any criminally run city, and getting even can often lead to more trouble than it’s worth.
Let It Byrne is Declan’s story and starts with his intention to even a score with Mickey Morello's lieutenant for a slight against his family, but more importantly against his pride. However nothing prepares Declan for the overwhelming impact of a scared and battered redhead who crosses his path on the road to retribution.
This is not a story for the faint of heart, but the brutality and violence are believably incorporated into this gutsy story of turf wars, Mafia bosses and the women who lend them strength while they consume them heart and soul.
This first book in the Byrne brothers' series is dark and gritty, filled with violence and suspense, layers upon layers of emotions that reach out and grab you by the throat from the onset of the story. But underlying it all is a deep romance, Declan and Casey's story starts as a want/need that expands to capture emotions that blindside the characters. The ugly life of criminals runs in the background throughout, bringing to light the darkness that lives in the mean parts of Boston.
This book is the perfect launching pad for the stories of the remaining Byrne brothers...if those stories are anywhere near the gripping level this book was, they'll be winners as well.

Casey must pay off her brothers debt to the mob and Casey knows she can't screw up. Declan is in a rival mob and trying to spy on the rival family and spots Casey. He wants her but for all the wrong reasons at first. But true feelings grow but when Casey learns the whole truth she is hurt but when she is taken Declan will do anything to get her back. I really enjoyed Declan & Casey story and can't wait to read the next in this series
This book has great story line , Being in a mob family is tuff in itself but once you find the right girl you have a lot to worry about . He bought Casey for a short time but things change when she is kidnapped . Great read
Once you get past the bad English (it is suppose to be that way) and learn to read it like it's meant to be, you find a book that is built on tradition and family and one hell of a ride! I loved Casey and Declan's story from the very beginning. They both were fighting to figure out their place in a scary environment and they just happened to end up the King and Queen of it all!
Since her brother Luke died, Casey Samuels has been in debt to the Morello mob family. It doesn’t matter that she’s not the one who incurred the fifteen grand in drug money, but to Vince Amari, the enforcer to the Morello family, she’s going to work it off by collecting gambling losses from clients at illegal events. It’s not a life she envisioned for herself, a life filled with terror and fear of possible rape by malicious, groping men at every turn. But her first night at the underground fight, she finds an unlikely hero in the form of Declan Byrne.
Declan Byrne was just casing the joint to one of the Morello strongholds when he meets Casey. He knows she’s in trouble and there’s just something about her that says she doesn’t belong. Declan offers her a deal she can’t resist. He’ll pay the debt for her total submission for four months. Declan brings out dark desires Casey didn’t know she had. And oh, he’s quite the sexual Dom. There are lots of conflicting emotions Casey and Declan wade through, mostly trying to keep their hearts from falling too deeply, considering the short-term agreement.
As Declan is the eldest twin of one of Boston’s leading mobsters, when his father dies, Declan is reluctantly hoisted to a position of leading the family business. The plot has lots of twists, and a misunderstanding about their agreement leads Casey to question Declan’s growing affection for her.
Let It Byrne is a riveting, mob romance with lots of action and suspense. It has a gut wrenching, emotional punch at the beginning that made me saddened for Casey’s situation. But Declan Byrne is one delicious, alpha hero who claims her. This is my first book by the author, and I have to say Ms Hart uses her craft to pen a well written story that kept me engrossed from the start. With fluid writing, descriptive characterization, scintillating dialogue, it was a pleasure to read. I love how she writes the sexual tension and sexy scenes. She really delivered the sizzle! loved it and can’t wait for the next story in this series.
Favorite line: “This is my life now. I’m a glorified excuse for a house cat.” for the next four months, I’m his to-do-with-as-he-wants property.

This story is filled with drama, suspense, violence, and action which had me gripped from the first page. I loved Declan and Casey, they were interesting characters, who were strong and alluring. They were well matched and I loved their chemistry. A great story, that I thoroughly enjoyed!

I was gifted a copy of this book, and decided to leave a review.
This was an interesting book. I liked Casey for the most part. Declan... took some time for me to warm up to, although he did win me over by the end. They made a good couple, and it was interesting seeing them get to know each other, and eventually fall in love.
There were some things that bothered me about the book, especially the part about where Casey's brother had died. I don't like when the characters have a sibling or partner that died, so that put a taint on it for me.
Other than that, the book was overall good, though.
I love the writing style of Holly Hart in the books of her's that I have read. Let it Byrne is fast paced and has unexpected twists and turns. The author did a great job with character development. Mafia romance is my favorite genre in the romance department, so this book was what I was looking for. My review is not a synapsis of the book, but rather my opinion. I do not like giving spoilers to the story, but I will say this book has a happy ending and NO CLIFFHANGER. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Can't wait for the rest of the series to come out.

I loved this book.. Great start to a new series, I loved how everything transpired with all the characters, and the story line is wonderful.. Casey and Declan are two wonderful people that find each other in a hard place but still find love. Declan is next in line with his mafia family, and Casey is working her brothers debt off with the other mafia in town.. When these two get together it is fireworks..
I love how this book has a wonderful story line, and I just totally fell in love with Declan...
I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book and absolutely recommend it!! Declan and Casey's story is fast paced, compelling, and has some really interesting twists and turns. I prefer a book with dual POVs so you get a better sense of what's going on in the minds of the H/h. This is a great start to the Byrne Brothers series and I had a glimpse into the other brothers lives, as well. This family is definitely intriguing from Ma to all the boys. I love the passion Declan and Casey have for each other as well as their family. Great job, Holly Hart.
4* Vince is part of the mafia hes using Casey as a runner to fetch & carry and ponder to his every wish she's working of her debt to him. Declan is from another gang of mafia he spots Casey or puss as he calls her while spying they have a connection so he propositions her 4 months to clear her debt. However Casey soon finds he has other motives. This is a standalone story and does have an ending. I can't wait for the other Byrne boys stories. I voluntarily received an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinion a must read. Great start to the Byrne boys

Let it Byrne is a thrilling, action-packed story, with many emotional moments. The characters are described in a very detailed way and you can move well into the emotional world and thought processes of the protagonists. Once started reading, it is difficult to put the book away. I loved reading this book.
And DNF at 11% Trust me, plenty happened. The main character was beaten and had sex and then beaten again. Also, "His fingers stampeded over my body like a horde of migrating animals..." does nothing for me.
By the time the second sex scene came around at 11% in, I was pretty much completely turned off of Declan and actually found myself flinching a bit. Not good.
Man, this book had great potential but the pace of the story had me confused. I scratched my head most of this read trying to figure out what just happened. And the epilogue? It didn't fit at all with the rest of the story. It read as a diary entry, which...served no purpose. Sad, as I liked the idea of it all.
So for what this book is and the genre, it's pretty good. You have an overly alpha male who takes what he wants but asks first. The female lead is timid but gets more of a backbone as the story moves along. If you like this type of story, you'll love this.
What an exciting new series!! I can't wait for more about the brothers. When Casey finds herself in hot water, she never expected to be bailed out by a good looking guy named Declan. It started off steamy and only continued to get hotter. Great read!!
Holly has done it again with this one. This is the first book in the Byrne Brothers. this one is about Casey and Declan. This book you are not going to be able to put down. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of the book.
