Kaikkea sitä työn vuoksi lukee. Mutta olihan tämä ihan ok. Jos asiaan perehtynyt ja pääasia että jotain lukee. Kansi ja fonttikin ihan ok.

Noniinno. Kiva, että Pokemonilla koitetaan houkutella lukijoita ihan tarinoiden pariin, eikä pelkästään tietokirjojen. Plussaa myös siitä, että Leon ja Pekon välit selvitellään ja vielä nenätysten. Kivaa oli myös, että koko perhe pelasi ja kaikki ihan omalla tavallaan. Ei kaikkien tarvitse hakea peleistä samoja asioita, on ihan ok tutkia joka nurkka tai juosta main quest läpi. Kaikki ihan omalla tavallaan.
Ihan mukava tarina, kuinka pelaillaan pokemonia ja valtaillaan salia. Mutta siihen se jää. Ihan kiva.

Sääli, että jää heti ilmestyttyään vanhaksi. Uudet päivitykset ovat jo muuttaneet juttuja, joten eiväthän ne toimi kuten kirjassa. Ja tuskin sulkemisuhan alaista kahvilaa voi pelastaa valtaamalla gymin omalle tiimille...

Kirjastot ja kirjastotädit ovat kamalia, jotka kieltävät pelaamisen kokonaan. Voisin heittää kirjailijaa meidän kirjaston upealla pokemonpallon näköisellä pinssillä otsaan.

C’est un roman que je conseillerais à tous les fans de Pokémon, et surtout à ceux qui ont gardé une âme d’enfant. Je pense qu’il faut au préalable connaître le fonctionnement de Pokémon GO pour l’apprécier pleinement, même si tout y est expliqué. Un très bon moment de lecture qui m’a fait redevenir un petit garçon.

This is a really simple book that, honestly, doesn't offer much in the way of depth. It's certainly fine for children who are playing Pokémon Go, but it is definitely locked in time as a reflection of a modern cultural fad. It's almost like if someone made a book about collecting Beanie Babies during the 90s fad.

12/24/2021 ~ A solid, though unimaginative, chapter book in which characters solve a mystery and play Pokemon Go. The inclusion of Pokemon Go may catch the attention of readers who are more into gaming than reading. The plot is interesting, the character development is adequate, and the mystery & resolution is believable.

Great chapter book read for young Pokémon Go players. The family dynamic in this first book caused me a bit of concern (nagging mom, goof ball dad stereotype common in 80s/90s sitcoms), but there’s less emphasis on it in future books. The series just gets better. If your kid loves Pokémon and plays Pokémon Go (there’s a fair amount of game mechanic referencing - not all up to date but that didn’t bother my kid at all; in fact it was like learning intriguing history) I recommend this book, and even more the sequels.

A quick read, and surprisingly pleasant. It had some of its facts wrong - like the main element for the plot, the threat of losing a Gym because the physical coffee shop was about to close its doors, which obv would not threaten the existence of a virtual gym at all, and the librarian character was SO WRONG and most likely based on prejudice more than a real life modern day librarian, but all in all it was okay. Bonus points for the big font, we need books that boys who struggle with reading want to read.

The cover is baffling, why are there Sims-diamonds above the pokéstops? There is a disclaimer that this book has nothing to do with Nintendo or Niantic, so that might be it.

I really liked how the whole family was playing the game together as a family, each member with their own goals and approach.
