I enjoyed the 3rd installment in this series just as much as the other ones. The characters are interesting and there are a few suspects to chose from. Ellie jumps to conclusions a little bit too easy and seems a bit too trustworthy to some other people. The story keeps twisting and turning and kept my interest all the way through - and do we have a little romance lurking in the end?

Ellie run's her family's pizzaria in a small town. Her family is visiting and driving her a bit nuts. She discovers a note that hides a secret in her family's past and asks a family friend to look into it and he ends up dead.

I enjoyed the characters and setting. There were not many suspects or a very deep plot, but it was light and fun.

Book 3 in the series has us meeting some of Eleanora Pacelli's extended family visiting from out of state. While working in her home office, she comes across a piece of paper that may change all of their lives. Things get harder when a family friend is murdered while trying to help Ellie discover what the words on the piece of paper might mean. The author takes us back and forth on who we think the murderer might be. I really enjoyed the book and learning a little more about Ellie's past. Can't wait for Book 4!

A quick read, engaging characters and complex plots with twisted motives make this an entertaining series to read. Ellie Pacelli and her Grandmother Ann are having Ann's daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to visit for an extended vacation. When Ellie discovers a lost note that implicates her grandfather as a blackmailer, she enlists the aid of a family friend to try and find out more. When the friend is killed while investigating, Ellie fears that a close family member may be involved and that her grandfather's heart attack may have actually been murder. I really enjoy the fast pace and surprise twists that these books have. An especially nice bedtime read since I can't stop until I know who the killer is and why they did it.

Third Time's A Charm!!

The third story in this series was just as good as the first two!! The family debate of thick vs thin crust pizza rages on! Family comes to visit disrupting Ellie's and Nonna's calm routine. One family dinner, one new introduction to long-time family friend, and suddenly Ellie finds herself embroiled in the middle of another mess. Two murders, lies, secrets, and a not-so-legitimate date all combine into an interesting cozy mystery that will leave you guessing, and have you craving pizza before you find out "whodunit"! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

series continues to get better

Ellie’s relatives come for a visit from Virginia. It starts out nicely but when she finds an old note under the bookcase talking about blackmail she tries to dig into it. She asks a family friend who turns up dead the next day. From there the action picks up with lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.

Easy quick read and these books can be standalones because I went ahead and skipped to book 3 without reading book 2 (I will go back and read that one, too) and was not lost at all.

There were a couple of typos on this one, though, especially with the name of Ellie's uncle. (Toby became Tony).

Good

I don't care for the grandmother to be called old woman. But it's a nice clean book with many twists and turns for a short read.

Good for a really quick read. My only nit about this one, was the author kept referring to Ellie as the pizzeria manager. It was awkward.

This is a short story, number three in the murder mystery series, Papa Pacelli's Pizzeria Mysteries.

These quick and easy to read mysteries are a great break for in-between the larger mystery novels.

I have grown fond of "Ellie" Eleanora Pacelli, the granddaughter and now manager of her late grandfather, Arthur's Pizzeria. Ellie lives with her grandmother, Ann and her papillon, Bunny, filling out the household is Papa's macaw, Marlowe. To this group, her Uncle Toby, Aunt Kathy, and Cousin, Darlene have come to visit for two weeks.

Marlowe, who has been shifted back to Ellie's study during the duration of the extended family's visit, shows his displeasure by knocking a walnut under a set of drawers. Ellie tries to reach it, however, what she finds instead is a crumpled note. After reading it, questions abound. Was her Grandfather a Blackmailer, or was he being blackmailed? Was his 'heart-attack' just that or was it induced by a killer? Who is the other party involved.

When a long-time friend of Cousin Darlene's comes to dinner, Ellie gathers the gall to ask him to help find the author of the note. What Danny finds is death! Now Ellie must go it alone, or should she?

The Sheriff keeps saying he needs 'evidence or proof' but will that be a blessing or curse for this hunt of a killer who has killed at least once, perhaps twice...perhaps more?

This was a great short story in a likeable series. I wish it had been a bit longer to see how Darlene resolves her issues, however, it was still a good read.

This is a great new series and this book is just as good as the ones before it. The characters are fun and it seems that we get to learn more about the regular ones with each book, and to really form a relationship with them. The scene is set in Main which is nice for me being from New England. The pizza makes me hungry reading about it but this book was nice because Eleanora branched out a little more and we get to see her confidence grow in the kitchen. Her pets are adorable as well as her beloved Nonna and it was nice to learn a little about the sheriff. These books are wonderful and always have a good mystery to solve and I like how Eleanora won't quit. I am anxious to see what is in store next for this series.

Ellie's family is visiting her Nonna and have nearly worn out their welcome. When she finds herself listening to their reminiscing about memories she doesn't share Ellie decides to find refuge in her grandfather's study. While searching for a wayward walnut Ellie comes across something that will forever change the way she thinks of her Pa and may destroy her relationship with her family.
This is another great addition to Patti's Pizzeria series. I enjoy the characters and love the pace of the action. This book has a couple red herrings that have you questioning your suspects. I can't wait for the next book!

Book 3 in the Papa Pacelli was an ok read for me. It wasn't really much of a mystery to me and at this point it just seems like Eleanor is just being a bit nosy at times. I also would like to know why the murder felt that he had to kill but it just seemed like the book kind of just ended and the epilogue really didn't need to be there since it was basically happening the same night and not a couple of weeks later. I almost feel like Eleanor needs a love interest or something to occupy her time instead of just working. All in all it is a good series but a bit slow for me. I guess deep down I just miss the previous series from Patti. I can not wait to read book 4.

This is a cute little novella length series. I enjoy the characters, the pizza descriptions and the plots are always interesting and novel. The only reason why I don't rate these books higher is because they read almost like a rough draft. There's a lot of detail about the mundanity of Ellie's life, but very little detail in the plot itself, and the endings are usually very abrupt. Granted, the books aren't very long, but I've read books that achieve the balance between a full plot and novella length so I know it can be done.

Overall, this is a cute series and an enjoyable, quick read but would be so much better with a little work.

Elli finds a threatening note for Papa Pacelli and is worried he was not the great guy she thought he was. After upsetting some family members visiting and a few close calls she is still determined to find out what happened. Even with her crazy ideas she does bring in the Sherrif to make sure she is safe. Great read and can't wait for the next one

Fun!

This is a great series. Once again Ellie is embroiled in a murder. Will she solve the murder? Is the murderer a family member?! Grab a copy and your questions will be answered. This is a fun quick read with a cast of likable charcters.

Very enjoyable. I loved how the mystery started with an old secret rather than something new. The ending was a massive twist, and I liked how Ellie attempted to not do anything stupid (if she succeeded in that is debatable, but she tried).
