ZAC Di FIORI’s life is about to turn one-eighty degrees North.

I lived my life one thrill at a time, never setting down roots, never believing I’d ever find a place to call Home.
Then I met Magali.
The moment those silver eyes blaze right through me, I’m a goner.
The way she sees past my defenses, her passion for helping others, the gentle touch she has with children … Everything about her tells me I’ve finally done the impossible. I’ve found my forever.
But after an entire lifetime of being alone, orphaned under suspicious circumstances and shipped off to boarding school by a pathetic excuse for family, forever seems too good to be true. And I know all too well how quickly it can be taken away.
But Magali has a way of drawing me out of the past, and looking toward a future filled with family.
Turns out finding Home isn’t so impossible after all … All I have to do is believe in it.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars

Apprehension is the second book in the Incandescent series, and while I didn't enjoy it as much as the first novel, I still enjoyed the story a great deal! While each book is meant to be a standalone, I highly recommend checking out the first in the series as it truly is an amazing novel. Plus, all of the characters that are featured in this novel are featured in the first as well which adds a little something extra for those that are fans. I loved reading about another set of characters with Liam and Eolie still being so present in the story. Those two stole my heart in the first book, so I was greatly looking forward to another set of characters doing the same. Sylvie Parizeau's writing is phenomenal and truly sweeps you away to the picturesque Canadian setting. This is one of my favorite parts of these books because the setting comes alive and is its own entity in the story.

The book follows Zac and Magali. Zac, who was featured in the first novel, is one of the GGS squad and Liam's friends. This is all about his journey of self-discovery as well as the discovery of true love and his own happy-ever-after. I loved both Zac and Magali so much...they're adorable together and I loved how both characters built the other up when they needed each other the most. They were a constant support system for each other and I loved every single second of their relationship. On top of all of this, they had a great banter which added to the book.

However, the reason I didn't like this novel as much as the previous book is because of how quickly they got together. It was very much insta-love and this was extremely different than what I have come to know about the series. I know this series is all about "love at first sight" and all that jazz but this was just too fast for me. Honestly, it was difficult for me to fully get behind their relationship even though I loved them together purely because of how fast they got together. I felt that even by the end, they still didn't know each other in the way that Liam and Eolie knew each other by the end of the first book. And because of this, I had to lower my rating.

That was my only complaint though. Everything else about this book is spectacular and I loved seeing the other characters featured so prominently. The entire novel is a journey to finding your soulmate and it was beautifully done. The story is heartwarming and leaves you satisfied in the end. I definitely recommend this to all fans of the Sylvie Parizeau as well as all romance fans. This one is not to be missed!

Happy reading :)

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts are entirely my own and in no way biased.*

Apprehension is the second standalone installment of Incandescently – the story of two unlikely people falling in love and their happily ever after and everything in between. Liam and Eolie had stolen my heart from the get go and I absolutely admired their relationship. So, of course, I was excited to read about the other characters from that book. And, now I did.

Apprehension is the story of Zac, one of Liam’s friends, and his journey to finding his happily ever after. The same had been hinted in Incandescently and I really enjoyed reading about the journey he had before reaching there.

Like Incandescently, Apprehension focused on the relationship between the two main characters – Zac and Magali. It was such a treat to read about them. They’re such a cute couple and I loved them – individually and together. Zac, though arrogant at times, was endearing. He was charming and funny at all the right times and I laughed so hard on reading his interactions with the GGS squad. And Magali – she was so unapologetic in her faults, embracing who she was that it was amazing to see. She was the source of constant support and love to Zac whenever he needed it and that warmed my heart.

Their story was beautiful and heartwarming and such an incredible journey that I couldn’t help but love it. Another thing that I absolutely loved about this was that Liam & Eolie were a constant presence in this story and I got more than my fill for these two sweethearts! It was so amazing to see them again! 😀

All in all, a great, beautiful, hearty read for all romance fans out there! 🙂

Received an ARC in exchange of an honest review. The opinions and thoughts are my own and not prejudiced or biased in any way.

4.2 magical stars✨✨
Again Ms. Parizeau did it! She created a magical world out of thin air and I simply love it. Personally, I loved Zac's pov better than Magali's, not that hers is not good but whenever a chapter started with her pov, I was sightly less enthusiastic than when it started with Zac's. I liked how easily they understood each other after they became a couple and how breaking the news of his "royal" status didn't affect her in the way I was dreading it would. I also like the fact that this series is a no-drama series, only happy couples and happy endings. Zac and Magali's idea of disposing his Swiss bank account money was just the thing I was hoping for *SPOILER* it also opened the way for Magali's career as a midwife that was hindered by the hospital they both worked at. All in all it was an enjoyable read that could've finished in 5 hrs but it took me 9 days because apparently, I found my home between Incandescently and Apprehension❤

Zac is one of the five best friends of Liam. He is a doctor and learned to fly an airplane since he was 11. He hasn't have a real family and grew in a boarding school. He knows few about commitment and home. When he saw the new Liam's life with Eolie and the twins they had, he wants something like that for him too. Visiting Liam he met Magali, a student who wants to become a midwife and loves her family and all about babies. Zac inevitably falls in love with her, and that crush is mutual. The book describes the journey of their love and how Zac starts to believe that they can have a place to call home.
In general I liked the story of Zac and Magali, but I don't think things are so easy in the real world. All is happiness and the little troubles they have during the story are fixed in a very easy way.
I would have liked to see the characters struggling to find peace, happiness and all the things people do in their day to day; and that despite that remains a happy story like the author wants.

First of all it felt so good to dive back into the world of Laure. I missed it.

My heart needed some more Liam and Eolie and learn who Zac wants and of course gets. The drama, the love, the cuteness. The professionalism, the jokes.

So good. Magali is an amazing and smart and positive and caring character. You can’t help but love her.

Zac with all his faults changes into a man and knows what he wants and go gets it. Chases his dreams. Deals with his past.

Life is such a rollercoaster ride.
I highly recommend this book. But first don’t miss the thrilling first book: Incandescently. You might just fall in love.

The Forest of Laure tales are forever in my heart. These stories truly are my loves. A heartwarming story. Lovely and meaningful passages. *sighs* lovely all around.

I gave this book--and I include the first one as well--two stars. The author has some interesting plot elements, but each of these books could have been a short story. Everything is spread out and out and repeated. One of the biggest distractions for me was the lack of proofreading. Both books were filled with grammatical mistakes, incorrect use of idioms and awkward sentence structure. This made me think that English was not the author's first language. I enjoyed the use of French throughout but could have used more footnotes explaining what phrases meant.

This is Zac’s tale. Zac, the risk taker, who ignores signs and then falls hard for a girl.

Zac is restless and cannot settle on a career until he discovers obstetrics through Liam’s wife and her twins.

And his home in the magical forest of Laure.

A nice tale but we are now into a more ‘normal’ romance story as the magic was woven into the storyline in book 1.

Thus whilst a nice story, it is not as  unique as book 1.

Recieved from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for honest review

Incandescent series continues with Zac, ultimate bad boy. He is daredevil, always up for a challenge, never settling in one place for too long. He meets Magali in coffee shop and is instantly taken by her, so he decides to impress her by pulling a stunt. It backfires stunningly. :)

It's a good thing too, because it makes him rethink his life and find a home in the process. When they meet again, he is determined to earn her love.

Magali thinks about him all the time. She feels guilty about that night and thinks she will never see him again. She is finishing college, to be midwife. When she start working in a hospital she stumbles on him.

I usually don't like romance that much, but this series is special. I loved all three book, that are out so far. My favourite being the third one. :) The is just something so positive in these stories, ultimate feel good books. :)

Rated R

"I lived my life one thrill at a time, never setting down roots, never believing I’d ever find a place to call Home.

Until Magali."

This series has me, and the group of guys - the GGS crew. There's always bound to be one guy in every group that's your least favorite, and I think Zac is mine. From the first few pages, it was apparent what's important to him - sex and money. I don't like that kind of personality, so his story was a bit more difficult for me to enjoy, compared to the others.

What I loved about this story, was seeing both of them fall in love together. Zac and Magali make a pretty well-matched pair, and do fit well together. I was pleasantly surprised at the realism of their relationship, and the fact the author had them even talk about something like uterine fibroids. I have yet to see an female issue like that come up in a fiction series like this, and that was refreshing.

Overall, this story wasn't terrible. I didn't like it as much as Liam's or P.O.'s stories, but the overall message and falling in love romance was sweet. I didn't like how physical it was, but I never do enjoy overly erotic literature, so I'm not surprised by my turn-off at Zac's behavior.

I would definitely recommend reading this book as part of the series, to get the whole group dynamic down. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series, and hope to enjoy the other guys' stories better.

*I was given a complimentary eCopy of this book, from the author, to read in exchange for an honest review.
