I’ve done pretty damn well in hiding my feelings for her over the years but having Meghan under the same roof as me, and only feet from my bed makes it hard to control myself.
The truth is when it comes to Meghan I don’t want to practice self-control. I love her.
MEGHAN
I’ve known him nearly my whole life. He’s cocky, gets under my skin, but is gorgeous and caring, too. And as much as I want to say it doesn’t affect me, I’d be lying.
The truth is I love him, and I don’t know if that’ll end up destroying me.
BRENDAN
She needed a place to stay, and now she’s got a roommate … me. But I’m about to show her that I want more than a friendly arrangement. Too much time has passed, and I’m done waiting. I’m ready to step up and be a man.
I’ve never been good at sharing, and when it comes to her, she’s mine.
Warning: You like short, hot, straight to the point stories? Do you want drama-free sexiness that leaves nothing to the imagination? Do you want a story that is pretty unbelievable, but gives you the warm fuzzies at the same time? Well then, leave your panties at the door because that’s what’s going down in this quickie.
2.5 stars. I enjoyed this short, sweet and steamy little love story about a virgin hero and heroine and true everlasting love. Swoon and swoon. Author Jenika Snow once again turned up the heat in the fifth installment of the Real Man series. :D
This book was almost perfect it had all the elements of a GREAT READ but for me it was a failed alpha story. They are "step-siblings" who have loved each other for so long. So when the heroine is finally living under his roof, what does he do?
NOTHING
I like it when it's the guy who takes a chance and tell her he loves her first. It's a small thing really but she is living in his place and he is always saying how he want her and lives for her but he does NOTHING to make their relationship happen.
For me this was very disappointing!
I wanted more I can't live without her moments. Not just words in his head but actual physical actions. Claiming his woman, instead of going with the flow. They no longer have the step relationship going on because the parents are divorced. Therefore, what's with all high school immaturity here?! I don't get that. I guess it's because they are 20 and 22. It also had an epilogue 4 years later making it official, and nine months after that. So this book is safe, good and enjoyable. Totally worth a read but I will not be keeping this one.
I remember reading this book very quickly and I somehow forgot to write a review for it, yeah, that's me...
Anyway, I liked the lightness of the story but what did bother me was that the hero thought how much he loved her and that he would show her but his actions were sadly not exactly the same as his thoughts. It took him way too long to finally find his courage and admit his feelings for her. I think it was she that pushed him to even make that step. So, yeah, did not like that. I like my heroes to be blunt and simply go for what they want and not wait for a miracle. Just saying...
I liked the heroine, she was a fun character and despite her being a bit shy, she has a lot of courage. I get why it took them so long to get together, since they grew up and all that, but I wished they wouldn't have waited so long. But once they did admit their feelings, wow. The sheets were on fire! Definitely loved that. ;)
This is a quick, fun read that most will enjoy. I really like this series, it's not heavy or full of drama, so that's always a bonus for me. Will continue to read it, that's for sure.
"From the moment I knew I loved you, it's always been you. No one will ever compare, and no one will ever make me feel the way you do...I want to share my life with you."
Romantic, sugary, soppy, cute, short, slightly smutty, to the point love story about a stepbrother and a stepsister that waited for too long to share their feelings.
I enjoyed reading this one. The second one I liked from this series. Virgin is still at the top, for now.
The story is about Brendan, 22 and Meghan, 20.
Brendan and Meghan lived under the same roof for years and their feelings for each other had grown. They were step-siblings until their parents divorced.
Over the year, they stayed in contact. She was kicked out of her apartment and needed a place to stay. Brendan was her only option. Brendan welcomed her to his home. She moved in with him.
They loved each other for years but chose to hide it in fear of scaring each other away and ruin everything.
It would have been better if Brendan was the first one who admitted his love for her. But yeah, it was Meghan. But I still enjoyed it.
There's a lovely epilogue too with marriage and a baby.
If you read these as comedies instead of pornos, they're actually quite good.
Just putting it out there that if you have to say that something you are doing might be considered creepy and stalkerish, then whatever you are doing is probably creepy and stalkerish.
This was whack but I didn't hate it the way I thought I would. Oh except for the sex. It's not sexxay at all.
So refreshing to read a story that is safe and sweet, never having to worry about cheating or ow/om drama. That's exactly what Jenika Snow is giving us with this series. Because that is what a real man is - faithful, loving, sheltering....just like these heroes!
I will say that although the couple had their sexy time, it was later in the story. It was not as steamy as some of the other books. They danced around their feelings, both fearing they would lose the other. In turn, wasting time.
Former step-siblings and current roomies have secretly been in love with each other for years. She's 20, he's 22. There's a slow build-up with a steamy scene and the epilogue takes place four years later. Super sweet characters, not much drama in the story and no conflict from their parents.
This one was a pretty decent quickie. Meghan and Brendan have known each other for quite some time but things had never graduated to a more intimate relationship.
I enjoyed both Meghan and Brendan but I didn't feel like we got to know them that well. Meghan was in school and Brendan had some kind of job though I'm not sure what and I’m fuzzy on the details of Meghan’s last living situation. A bit more time spent covering these characters could have helped my enjoyment, it doesn’t need to be anything drawn out but I want to be able to feel like I know them a bit outside of their intentions toward one another.
Check this one out if you're looking for something sweet, sexy, and quick to read!
**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book
Similar to AR's style, but the story is crafted a little better, and the loving scenes are longer with more detail.
This is your basic Hot, low angst, low conflict, alpha male insta love/lust type read.
There were a few words used that put me off like.."spunk" instead of seed... "pussy hole" yeah that was kinda bad, and the mentioning of her just coming off her period during an intmate scene was just plain wrong.
I felt waiting 4 years to be married was ridiculous and the reason for it lame.
Overall.. it was pretty good and I will read more by this author.
Appreciate the honesty of this story. Very simply written, the romance is clear cut, no beating around the bush as soon as they knew what the felt for each other its like game on. Brandon and Meaghan sealed the deal on each other, ceased every moment to claim their life and destiny. As usual, Jenika...thanks and good job to you!
Short story of stepsiblings whose parents get divorced, but they have already started feeling attraction for each other. She ends up living with him while she is in college.
Damn, another good one from the A Real Man series. I’ve liked all of these books so far and this one is no different.
So what the description of this book doesn’t say is that Brendan and Meghan are ex-step siblings. Meghan’s mom was married to Brendan’s dad but have since divorced. No idea what age they were when their parents married or how long they lived together... but Meghan and Brendan were both in love with the other and both didn’t have the guts to ever admit it. Next thing you know, years have passed...
Then Meghan got kicked out of her apartment and needed a place to stay so Brendan came to the rescue. He didn’t want to admit his feelings right away but Meghan overhead him talking about a girl to his friends and assumed it was someone else... so Brendan had to tell her the truth. He has never been with another girl whatsoever since he only had eyes for Meghan. Yup, a virgin. Fuck yes, I love those!!<
And it got steamy as fuck from there. Both were virgins but they sure knew how to make each other feel good. 😉
The epilogues were super cute and filled with HEAs as always. Gahhh I am just absolutely loving this series.
"I've done pretty damn well in hiding my feelings for her over the years, but having Meghan under the same roof as me, and only feet from my bed, makes it hard to control myself. The truth is when it comes to Meghan, I don't want to practice self-control. I love her."
Brendan fell in love with his step-sister years ago. As the years passed, his feelings are just as strong. No with their parents going thru a divorce, he can't burden her with admitting his feelings. Huh?!
"It's always been her," It'll always be her".
My confusion?....Why don't you go get your girl?? All this love and nothing. She lands on your doorstep and still you don't pursue this. There really was not a real reason why these two have all this pent-up love and don't admit it to each other for years, except they don't want to ruin there close bond. Hmmm!
PS: I was given a complementary copy of this book. But I do solemnly swear that I am up to...good. *wink* This is a fair, honest review and/or rating(s) of this book, pinky promise.
I've become a bit addicted to the Real Man series. Sweet and sexy with so much sexual tension. A virgin hero and heroine and true everlasting love. Swoon and swoon.
By far my favorite in this series. Brendan and Megan's sweet love story gave me everything I needed. From ex step siblings to roommates, to stalking and later double v cards, from a couple in love to a adorable epilogue(s)- this was a quick saccharine read. Super safe 4/5
The first half was promising, sweet! But I didn't like that the H couldn't man up and declare his undying love to the h. The h had more guts than him. Not so alpha here. Still it's worth reading because of the first half
