Kids will learn all about the night sky, from the moon to constellations to planets, in this new National Geographic Reader. The level 2 text provides accessible, yet wide-ranging information for beginning readers.
Good book about planet, stars, eclipse, satellites and more. Well organized, good mix between info, pictures, everything is well balanced and of course the informations are precise and vulgarize in a way kids will easily understand. Good job, again, by National Geographic!
I liked this book, but found it a little odd that they showed a star chart of stars you can see from the Southern Hemisphere. Most people live in the Northern Hemisphere. There also had under "Seven cool 'facts' about Space" the "fact" that the universe is 13.8 billion years old. That isn't a fact, but a theory. Surely they could have found some other true facts about space to print instead.

This is in the first reader format meaning it's in large print with simple words meant for beginning reader to read aloud or to themselves but it manages to get some good basic facts in. There's a quiz at the end and bad riddles scattered throughout that will make kids giggle and parents grimace.
