~4,5~ stars from me!!
When i finished the first book of the series and saw that Van is going to be in the second book i was ecstatic to finally be able to learn her story cause i really liked her character from the moment the author introduced her to us.
She has a strong and independent personality , how can not she be?? some not so good facts that had happened in her love life made her that way and those can explain the way her personality has transform.
Denny after many years is back and ready to claim Van back into his life but things are not going to be so simple....i don't wanna spoil anything but believe me their story which develops steadily and the dialogues with the super hot scenes are very interesting to read.
I totally recommend it and i'm looking forward to read more from the author.

This was a decent story with good characters. Nothing exciting but a pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Well it’s a sporting romance, who am I to say no! I love this sort of story and the complications of a love that has already had one bite at the cherry because even though they went their separate ways, the final curtain was never really drawn. This was all that and some!
Vanessa and Denny had been sweethearts when they were just kids, before college and a stellar football career got in the way. Calling time on what they had as youngsters wasn’t easy on either of them but it was the right thing at the time but here they are years later, older, wiser and remarkably not only working in close proximity with each other but also both having to deal with the fact that they can’t have the one person they never managed to let go of.
Denny is adored by his fans but it is the love of one particular woman that has him working his tail off.
Vanessa is determined that their past is in the past, she can’t go through that sort of heartache again but her heart knows that this is her man, and nobody else is ever going to live up to him, so with heart and head in conflict, how much longer does she think she can continue her internal struggle? Especially when Denny finds a new purpose in life…to win her back!
It isn’t all sweetness and light, the path they are on is far from smooth but that only added to the enjoyment, this pair were superb, I absolutely fell in love with them both.
I liked that they had issues, what they had been through doesn’t just disappear overnight, it needs to be worked through and they did. There were a few twists and turns along the way but not enough to have my head in my hands.
Loved the boo, it was well written…just my cup of tea!!!

I loved False Start by Ava Kendrick. Not only is it a second chance story, but it also deals with football. What more could a sports girl ask for? Van have been screwed over by men. Her ex-boyfriend actually took her company. Now back on her feet, Van has started her own PR company. While she only has one client, her hope is to pick up more Greensboro Grizzles players. There is one player though, one that haunts her past. He's may be the one that got away. The problem, he's the team playboy. And now Van has to see him again since he's a Grizzle.
Denny let Van get away when they were younger. But now, he plans on making her, his. Only he has to earn her trust back. After a bad breakup, Denny must do everything possible not to lose Van again. Only there are those that don't what them together, in fact, they will do what they can to keep it from happening.
This book is amazing. It was a super quick read and I feel in love with these two. I love all the characters. I have never read anything by Ava Kendrick, and I'm not sure if there is a book that came before this one, but False Start is amazing. I say that because I feel like there were parts I might have missed. Like a backstory or something. Either way I hope you will pick it up.

Catching The Quarterback !!!!
This was a book of second chances and forgiving the person whom you loved who hurt you.
Van and Denny met years before but due to circumstances couldn't be together so Denny walked away from Van and moved on with his life. They meet again years later when Dennys the star quarterback and Van is just getting over a messed up relationship. Can she forgive the boy who broke her heart now that he's a man !!!'
This time around can they be together or will they let people keep them apart again ? I thought Denny didn't do it for me personally I just couldn't like him and I did try but I did like Van tho I thought she forgave too quick.
This was a good sports romance I liked and look forward to more books by Ava !!!!

I love second chance romances and False Start definitely does not disappoint! It's hot and steamy, angsty and has the HEA that we all crave.
When Denny and Van's relationship fell apart years earlier, it devastated them both....they tried to move on with their lives and were somewhat successful. That is until fate intervened and threw them back together again! Could they overcome the pain and heartache from the past? Or would they only hurt one another more in their attempt to reunite?
The story is fast paced and very well written...I really didn't want it to end! Another awesome book from an author that is fast becoming one of my auto-click! Highly recommend this must read from Ava Kendrick! I can't wait for the next one :)

What a second chance romance for Van and Denny! After their painful breakup when they were young, they fall for each other again some years later. His family forced them apart to ensure that Denny pursued his football career; this time someone else is making it impossible for the hunky quarterback to pursue a relationship with Van. I hated that Van felt she couldn't confide in her best friend Rose but understood how that would jeopardize Rose's husband. The story was fast paced and the hard decisions that they had to make felt real and made one sad that they were forced to fight for their future.

False Start has a great premise and good characters with an enjoyable plot.
Things I liked:
- Fun plot (I love second chance romance)
- Likable characters
Things I didn't like:
- The writing didn't flow easily all the time. It was a little disjointed.
- Some of the incidents were a little tough to swallow. I know it's fiction, but there wasn't enough character development to make me believe what was going on.
Overall, not a waste of time but I'm not super excited to read more.

A heartwarming tale of second chance love, of overcoming and moving on from past hurts and regrets and standing by who you love despite all that gets in the way.
The bond between Denny and van is strong and you want everything to be ok for them the character development keeps u invested in the story which moves along at a fast pace, a read that you will pick up and not want to put down.
A great 4 star read.

A heartwarming story of second chance love, overcoming and moving on from past hurts and regrets and standing by who you love despite all that gets in the way. I think everyone loves this sort of story and it's not all roses and smooth sailing like reality you can relate to it. I really enjoyed reading this.

I loved this book! I got so involved in it that I wanted a go at Coach Fox. You don't have to like football to read this book. Go for it, you'll love it!
