I was so glad to see a new Becky Melby book that I couldn't wait til Christmas to read it! Do You Know What I Know? is the perfect Christmas novella. First of all, I love the inclusion of a more "mature," married romantic situation in addition to the younger couple, and Ms. Melby did a good job with the different dynamics of the two sets of people. She always excels at creating child characters, and this book had several of them. The setting was good, too, with a realistic portrayal of the community and family relationships. The plot was creative, and the layers of it, involving several different people and perspectives, was handled beautifully.
I definitely recommend this book as an enjoyable Christmas read.
I have to say though... that song has been stuck in my head since I first saw the title!
I am new to this author, and she definitely did not disappoint. Once I started reading she had me hooked on the story line, on the wonderful characters, and the true meaning behind "Do You Know What I Know." One misunderstanding at a time...
The author takes one sentence from a wonderful Christmas carol, a personal incident, and writes a truly fun, enjoyable, and sweet novella that will fill your heart.
An excellent read for the holidays, or anytime of the year. From an author who truly impressed me, I will be reading more of her books very soon.
This was a sweet and cozy read with definite gospel elements in it. Love that there are things to read like this novella without foul language, explicit scenes or violence. I'm more of a mystery lover so the predictability of this story didn't draw me in like the twists and turns of a good mystery might, but it is a very nice and easy read.
This truly is a miraculous Christmas story. The mix-ups, misunderstandings and events just add to the story. The author has done a fantastic job at engaging the readers.
