My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***Received a copy of the book for an honest review

The cover is definitely beautiful, but it should have been a black wolf!!

This is a standalone book that is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. It is a quick read and ends in a HEA.

I definitely think this is a unique and interesting world. I definitely wanted to know more about the past especially Gabriel’s and his village, but also what happened after this book. I really loved Senna and her fiery spirit and that she wanted to protect as much as be protected.

Catherine always amazing and unique stories. If you love her work, you don’t want to miss this one! I recommend this book to HEA lovers and shifter lovers!

I've read a few of this authors stories and they are usually easy to read with a fast paced story so I was quite happy to spend an hour or two reading this her latest shifter romance. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting to be honest with an almost Arabian/ eastern feel to it in a world of sand and mountains with shifters and bizarrely even aliens! Well I'm game to read most things so dove in to find even more surprises!
Ok I confess the beginning had a Wild West feel with the princess Senna traveling across country by train . I note the synopsis mentioned it's set in a modern world with a steam punk feel but quite frankly that's not how it felt to this reader. Initially Senna seemed to be a spoilt and pampered princess who railed against her future matrimony to Ottway whilst carelessly caring on with Gabriel , her fathers Commander of the shifter troops and I really didn't like her. I hasten to say she does improve and actually steps up when required thankfully. However the story expands to become an adventure that will hopefully unite humans and shifters alike. There's an awful lot of treachery and underhand goings on and it's clear that there's going to be a battle royal in the future. Alas I do still have questions but the author wraps things up quite quickly so perhaps Ottway and the peculiar aliens will feature in another book .
I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review

This book was hard for me to get into and I don't know why really. But once I got into it a ways I couldn't put it down! The characters were really good, I guess it's because it's more of a Sci-fi book and not a regular shifter. It's got strange aliens, and it's more futuristic than I'm use to. But once in I couldn't put it down! The Princess went from stubborn "child" to have d headed woman and I loved it. Her shifter was handsome, brave and really loved her. But did they get away from bad guys in time? Did they get their HEA? Well read it and find out! I definitely recommend it.

Definitely a worthwhile read!

A bit of a slow start for me, but when the pace picked up I was kept well interested. I think the slow start was probably due the steampunk references in the early chapters. I haven't read much in that genre so it took me a little bit to slip into the story. It was my problem as the author did a great job with the descriptions throughout the book. I was able to easily delve into the scenes while I was reading and invest in the story.

I loved the two main characters, Senna and Gabriel. I love those names! Senna has a fierce personality. She doesn't want the helpless princess, but she totally wants to be pampered at the same time. She's not so princessy that she can't empathize with others. Gabriel is a yummy wolf shifter who loves her without question. He has the typical alpha protector personality who wants to keep her safe from all harm. Yet, he listens and understands which I appreciated. I felt the two characters gelled well as a couple.

I absolutely loved the two main side characters, Ana/Anacelia and Talok. Anacelia’s loving care for Senna was precious; her ability to put the princess in her place with a well-placed comment was also endearing. I enjoyed Talok’s laughter and comment, “Gabriel, you have found a woman who is your equal. It is a wise man who values strength.”

Lastly, I liked how the villains (Ottway and the aliens) were handled in the story. They weren't so cartoonish as to be unbelievable. I found the excellent descriptions made it easy to picture them.

How is the author's writing? Good
Is there violence? Yes
Is there sexual content? Yes
How is the story narrated? Third person

Omg I really loved this story! It was an incredible adventure full of action, suspense and of course romance. I had a hard time putting this one down. By far this is my favorite book by Catherine Vale yet! The story was crafted beautifully with an interest world with not only shifters but aliens as well. I would've loved to see more of this world but the characters journey more than make up for it. It was fast paced and flowed seamlessly. The characters were fun to read and I loved each of their personalities!

What an adventurous ride this story is. Senna is a Princess and Gabriel is the Highest Command, the shifter who rules all the shifters that protect her father’s kingdom. Their love is forbidden and would come at great consequences for Gabriel. Not to mention, Senna’s father has now told her she is to be entered into an arranged marriage.

For the short length of this story, it is sure packed with a lot of action. Fights among kinds, an evil villain, exciting plot, romance, action, and danger; I couldn’t wait to see what was to become of Senna & Gabriel.

This book was such a wonderfully unexpected blend of genres and themes: shifters, aliens, deserts, and dystopian societies, mixed with political intrigue, middle eastern pageantry, and romance. Senna’s about to be sold into a marriage she wants nothing to do with. While Gabriel, the man her heart desires, has no power to save her from this fate worse than death. Or does he? The story started a little slowly for me, but once it got going there was not stopping it

I felt like this was the story of Aladdin at the beginning. I wasn't so sure about the alien part but it seemed to work ok. I really enjoyed the suspense of scenes and the growth of the Princess Senna!

Wildly romantic. I loved the story. The emotional rollercoaster ride of Senna and Gabriel kept me on the edge of my seat. I could only hope for a happy ending. They were challenged at every turn and only had each other. Senna came into her own during their adventure and will now be able to lead her people with Gabriel at her side. Loved this story.

Pampered princess Senna petulantly refuses to wed an older (and descriptively disgusting) man to align their kingdoms, until her love Gabriel (head of the guards) insists neither of them has a choice and cannot stop it. There is much more going on behind Senna's father's back and the marriage is a ruse for far more nefarious purposes. Luckily Gabriel smells something fishy and stows away on Senna's train ultimately saving her and the kingdom. OMG this was such a passionate and exciting story. Though Senna and Gabriel had such vastly different lives, she pampered princess and he captured wolf shifter brutally trained to protect the royals, they were the same at heart and they definitely stole mine. Awesome story and inspiring characters!

This is set in a savage desert world that has been invaded by Aliens with lizard like skin.
Senna is a princess who is being forced to marry a powerful neighbour, although she loves someone else. To cross the desert she must travel on a train. Even that doesn't guarantee safety.
Gabriel is a wolf shifter and the captain of the royal guard. He cannot let his princess leave without a guard of her own.
The man our heroine is marrying is even more evil than she thought.
An exciting, danger filled trek across an unforgiving land. Almost an apocalyptic setting outside of the royal residence. There are a few laughs mainly with their transportation. Camels are not easy creatures to deal with.
A very entertaining read.

Wild Things by Catherine Vale

Senna is given away to Ottway to be his bride, trying to bring peace. Senna hates Ottway and does not want to marry him but her father insist on it. Senna is in love with a guard Gabriel and he loves her. He has came to her room and they have shared there love but have to keep it a secret. I wasn't sure about this book with shifters, aliens, and a princess but the farther I got in the book the more I liked it. The princess was at first a spoiled young woman and it was great to see her blossom into a woman who was willing to fight for her country and her man. I was given this book for my honest opinion.

Wow!!! What a roller-coaster of a ride this book is!!! Filled with so much action and adventure, betrayal and courage and so many emotions are invoked in you while reading this amazing book. Catherine Vale is one seriously talented writer!!! Everyone should read her work and I just cant wait to read more of her work, from this book alone she is definitely at the top of my favourite authors list! This is definitely s book that will stick in my mind for a long long time.

The storyline to this was just spectacular!! It seriously has you hooked from the first page, making you compulsively turning page after page just to see what secret or situation is going to be next! It really is filled with so much action but it doesn't make the story feel too full or rushed, the details are put in there for a reason and they are so descriptive, Catherine Vale has a way of writing that makes the details come to life in your mind, like you are seeing into her imagination. This is such a unique story, its definitely like nothing I have read, the more you read the story the more it comes alive for you and you see things the way they really are. I really hope this isn't a stand alone book and that we see and hear more of this world.

I loved Senna's character, she develops so much in this book from the young princess to the woman who is a warrior, her courage is outstanding, its like she doesn't realise how strong she can be but though everything she definitely proves her strength inside and how to protect herself. Then you have Gabriel, who I know EVERYONE will fall in love with, his courage and loyalty to Senna is one from the heart and he has a huge heart with a huge capacity for love. He is strong warrior in his own right and will fight tooth and nail for what he wants and will protect those he loves.

This is seriously an amazing book, you need to pick it up and read it, you wont regret it!!!

I Love Catherine Vale Books . I literally have a big grin on my face every time she announces a new book, so it would come to no one as a  surprise when I say I dived into this book as soon as I possibly could and I loved it. Wild Things is another fantastic story by Catherine Vale

In this book we follow Gabriel  and Senna ,I love these two characters. I really felt for them in this story ,Gabriel and Seena are in love however Senna has to marry someone else who is rather dreadful if you ask me so you can see how in the beginning of the story why things might seem hopeless for these two . I felt so sad seeing Senna prepare to go get married to someone she did not want to be married to .However when things drastically changed and Senna and Gabriel find themselves on the run . I loved every minute of this story the romance was just fantastic at first it starts of being a secret romance however as the story unfolds it becomes so much more Catherine Vale did an amazing job with the romance in this story . Seeing the devotion Senna and Gabriel have towards each other just made me root for them even more than I already did . Nothing made me happier than knowing at the end of the story they got an ending that was absolutely perfect for them . I loved the shifters ! the world that Catherine Vale creates  with these fascinating creatures adds into making this story absolutely spectacular and I just want to add there aliens in  this story too ! Shifters and Aliens how cool is that ? (So very cool ). Between the sexy romance ,the cast of characters and the  action-packed plot that will keep you at the edge of your seat Catherine Vale creates another wonderful story with wild things.

Wild Things was a sexy, action-packed, fun story I cannot wait to see what Catherine Vale right next if you love all these things in your books I suggest you get a copy.

SPOILED PRINCESS,HANDSOME SHIFTER GUARD, ALIENS, AND A DIRTY OLD MAN
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW...... OVER 18+ READING
Senna is a spoiled princess who has lead a sheltered life till now, when she has been ordered to marry the Ottway(a man older then her father). A political arranged marriage for her kingdom, not a marriage to her secret love Gabriel,a powerful wolf shifter and her guard who loves her has much as she does him. The train Senna rode back from Ottway was attacked (she was told,it was his train..his guards) by aliens she was protected...castle guards also came to help. Trying to get into the castle he was told aliens had been sighted inside their outer perimeter and she has to show her papers...luckily Gabriel (who was the Highest Command, who ruled all the shifters in her father's kingdom) ordered the driver to drive them though. He came to her that night, she knew this might be the only time he could for the Ottway had moved the return trip up to 1 week and then the wedding 2 days after and she could take no one- no guards,no maids,no friends or family. As horrible as it was to have to go back, it got worse- when she realized he was on the train and he didn't care for her, then had her train car left...luckily Gabriel was on the train dressed in Ottway' uniform. Can they get away from aliens and Ottway's shifter guards? Can they find a safe place? Can they find where his family and people (that he was taken from as a child)have had to run to? Will she ever see her father , the castle or friend/maid Anacelia ? This is a wonderful ,exciting and sit on edge of chair story.

Gifted copy in exchange for honest review:

Wild Things is a different type paranormal. It offers the romance of a shifter and human but the drama of aliens. There is betrayal, love, hatred, manipulation and political power that just adds to the drama and suspense. Really would love to see this go into another book because I want to know what happens next. Hint hint to the author.

Senna is the royal princess expected to do as her father wants. He wants her to make a political marriage. The problem is she already is in love and can't stand the man her father wants her to marry.

Gabriel is a shifter and in charge of the royal guards. He would be killed if it was discovered he had a relationship with Senna. It hasn't stopped him though from secretly meeting her. When he realizes she is in danger, he will risk everything for her.

In the beginning, Senna is a pretty spoiled young woman. She is only expected to look pretty and do act royal. As she faces the danger, she really grows into someone to admire. I enjoyed seeing the transition. Gabriel is harder to figure out. He plays things close to the chest. He gradually reveals his own pain and motivations as the story continues and you get a better understanding of his choices.

It is a good stand-alone romance. It is a pretty quick read but has developed characters and an interesting storyline that mixes romance and steampunk elements. I enjoyed it and recommend you check out the author's other paranormal romances if you enjoy this one. She has some really good stories.

Senna, the curvy Princess, and fierce protector of her kingdom, refuses to be given away in marriage to the Ottway, an evil bastard of a man, who just so happens to be aligned with her father. Marriage arranged, Senna is torn between what she must do for her kingdom, and what her heart truly wants.

Gabriel isn't just Senna's guard, but a powerful wolf-shifter, who just so happens to want her as his own. It would be treason to go against the wishes of the King, but what these old men don't seem to know, is that when it comes to love, rules are meant to be broken.

Will Gabriel be successful in his attempt to rescue Senna from danger? And if they make a run for it, will they be able to survive in a world of aliens and shifters, who will stop at nothing to destroy them, should they rebel?

I enjoy reading Catherine Vale's work and i have to say that this book was not how i expected it at all.
It has an arabic/meta modern feeling to it and even a bit of a steampunk .
I have to say that up until a point i really enjoyed it and was doing great reading it but after some point i just couldn't read it...in the end though i was not disappointed at all and i am really glad i read it.

A thrilling and sexy ride; complete with aliens and werewolves!! 4.8 stars

Senna is a princess dealing with a newly arranged marriage with Ottway Venn. Ottway is older than her father, eats like a pig and smells. Even his castle in the valley feels claustrophobic. He will not allow her any of her own servants or guards as he requires full control. If that weren’t bad enough she is in love with another.

Guards are werewolves from the neighboring desert. Ottway’s guards did not fight when the lizard-like aliens attack the train which Senna is riding home. Fortunately Gabriel, the shifter who ruled all shifters in her father’s kingdom, had his team ready to fight. Gabriel is the one who holds Senna’s heart.

Matched with an evil villain, fighting aliens, traveling in life-threatening conditions; these two have to work to stay alive to even get a chance to become a couple. Gabriel is a dashing hero as head of the guard, but formerly sheltered Senna has her own set of skills as the challenges build. A rollicking ride with action, aliens and werewolves interspersed with heart-melting moments.

This was an interesting and adventurous read, set in a strange world of shifters but aliens. It's filled with action, danger, treachery, and romance. I love the characters, who have such great chemistry and are well suited. There are some really funny bits, which made me laugh out loud. It had me gripped from start to finish. Very enjoyable read!

Wild Things by Catherine Vale

Here is the age old story of marrying off a daughter to unite two kingdoms, but what happens when the daughter, a Princess is against this marriage. Where there is a Prime Minister up to deadly games, with the future Groom of the Kingdom. And the Bride to be is in love with someone else, Chaos reigns everywhere!
Senna the curvaceous princess falls in love with her Wolf Shifter Guard Gabriel, who is head over heels in love with his charge.
Together they need to find a way to survive alien and shifter attacks as well as being hunted down by the Ottway, her evil betrothed. Speeding off into the unknown, they uncover the duplicitousness of not only her arranged would be husband, but that of the Prime Minister to her father the King.
This fast pasted story runs the gambit of love and excitement, fear and the unknown. With aliens and shifters all around, you are caught up in the intricacies of what is happening behind the main storyline. A wonderful read, can't wait to see if this continues in another volume. Well done!

I received this of a honest review. Loved the book but it was a little different then what I am use to.

Senna was a curvy Princess. She was suppose to marry royalty. Her father had promised her to a man she did not love. The name is was to married was as old or even older then her father. He was a discussing man. It did not help that Senna’s heart belong to another. She has a forbidden love.

Gabriel did not only vow to keep the Princess and the kingdoms safe but he loved the Princess with all his heart. He knew that their love could not go any were. He was a guard and a werewolf. But this did not stop the heart from wanting.

Senna will find herself in danger. The question is can Gabriel keep her safe from the danger that awaits her. There is something strange happen with the aliens. They seem to be getting closer and closer to the kingdom. There is also something strange going on with the man Senna is to marry.

In this book you will wonder if love will find a way. Truly a great story and yes it is a HEA..

Great story, Fun and unique steampunk world, Female MC that's a bit feisty, unconventional, and has character growth, A HOT male shifter MC - Loved it!

This was a great shifter story with many twists. Thought the world was interesting and has lots of potential. Conflicts between neighboring kingdoms and invading aliens. It was such a melting pot that I read straight through.

Senna, is a princess and is being forced into a politician marriage to of course a very unappealing man, Ottway. (Okay so not so unique there - but the world definitely made up for that) . She is secretly in love with the head of her father's Guard - Gabriel, who is a wolf shifter. Her strong suit for me was that she actually showed good character growth (especially for a shorter story) - she didn't know how to defend herself and those she loved but when pressured she didn't shrink back but stepped forward to the challenge!

Really, enjoy this and would definitely read another set in this world.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy and was not compensated in any way.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Senna is Princess about to be married off in a political arrangement to Ottway Venn. She does not love the Ottway. She sees it as an old man being gifted with a young, beautiful plaything. The reason that Senna does not love the Ottway is because she is in love with one of the guards in her father's palace, Gabriel. Gabriel is a wolf shifter charged with protecting Senna. Senna has given all her love and her body to Gabriel not aware of the consequences of her decision or the consequences to Gabriel if anyone finds out. There are clear differences in the life experience of Senna and Gabriel. Senna has lived in sheltered luxury, while Gabriel has experienced some harsh realities. Senna is left little choice but to accept her fate and upcoming marriage, but she is betrayed by the Ottway and left as a sacrifice. Luckily, Gabriel has stowed away and is there to protect the damsel in distress.

Senna is engaged to a man she hates and in love with one of her father's shifter guards. Gabriel knows that she is his mate but there is nothing either can do being is she is a princess and promised to another. Knowing its against the law, they still sneak to be together. When Gabriel realizes something isn't right with the wedding being pushed up, he knocks out another guard to take his place on the train transferring Senna. When Gabriel is proven right, he's the only one willing to help his love. Together they must defeat the enemy and find protection. After finding help, they discover they must return to the palace to save the people they love. Will they make it or will the enemy win?

Another Catherine Vale hit! Loved how this story had multiple factors and not just shifters and humans. Great alpha male and a female both not willing to give up on each other and determined to stand by each other regardless of circumstances! Can't wait to read more from her!

The Princess and the Wolf

Aliens, shifters, and a princess, oh my! A forbidden love between a princess and her shifter guard, this story set in a unique world is riveting. Senna is a princess who's father has ordered her to marry a disgusting and vile old man, but she is in love with Gabriel, a wolf shifter guard who returns her love. Danger is all around them as they have to hide their love, and stay safe from aliens who are growing wilder and more savage. Even though they are far apart in the eyes of the kingdom, they both have much in common as they are forced into lives that they neither want nor asked for. Between the danger from her fiancée and the aliens, and her obligation to marry, will they ever figure out a way to be with each other, in happiness and love? I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
