This was a fun series.
Today I won't read as much as yesterday, didn't drink coffee and already feeling sleepy after the first book lol
Doctor Aphra proves she is super smart as usual and gets away from Vader.
I loved the scene when the emperor was like, "you succumbed to the darkness in your heart, I am so proud of you."
Aphra was like how did I get mixed up with these fucked up sith lords 🤣
I am not sure what I'll read next, but I'll stay away from sci-fi, so maybe something fantasy by Neil Gaiman.
Maybe it's finally time to reach the dreaming comics and finish them this year.

You HAVE to read this.
The Darth Vader comics series has finally ended. Despite many bumps along the way, the creative team managed to deliver a fitting end.
This issue is consistent with the movies. It perfectly displays our thinking on how Vader would react on certain events (and that scene with Aphra, Vader wouldn't be plain dumb for him to do that, it certainly has some emotional weight in it), how Palpatine would react, and what Aphra would do. Oh yes, Aphra. Seeing her on the big screen is all I ever wanted now.
The end doesn't connect concretely as how the whole series starts after Episode IV. But I am happy to say that it seamlessly ties with Episode V, though the rope is still long. (i.e., it doesn't end where Episode V starts, but the connection is there)
This issue is quite long, I would have been happier if it is in prestige format. Holding a thick comic this important needs extra careful hands.
Overall, I was really afraid that the Darth Vader series ends rather bad but they have proven otherwise. The series is force-approved.

This ends the series pretty much how one would expect it to end. Palpatine is impressed by Vader's actions and gives him command of the Executor after Tagge has been exposed of. Ozzel also appears here. And Vader, as expected, does not want to let Aphra live. She does end up living, which isn't surprising seeing as how she's become a fan favorite. I would've been skeptical about her surviving out in space had I not seen Kanan survive less than 20 seconds in space on Rebels. And apparently people can survive up to 90 seconds in space. I wonder whether or not the upcoming Star Wars: Classified will continue her adventures.
The issue also has a coda, which says that Vader's attack on the Tusken Raiders at the beginning of this series was months earlier. So this comic series apparently spans more time than I realized. I REALLY need a concrete timeline of this era. Anyway, it makes sense for Tuskens to pass around tales of Vader the Tusken slayer. But worshiping him as a god? That doesn't really make sense to me.

A decent enough finish to a series that started great but was really wearing thin by the end. The last issue or two were excellent, and this one almost was. However, without giving any spoilers, I really don't understand how a certain character survived their supposed demise and wish they, along with their companions, just kicked the bucket for a more satisfying conclusion.

Vader is thoroughly back in the Emperor's fold and the series has ended. Largely successful, but a uninspired middle arc (The Sho-Torun War) brought the overall series down. Nevertheless, this series did a great job of fleshing out Vader the "bureaucrat" as well as Vader the "schemer." He was laconic and ruthless yet at the same time, there were glimpses of the good in him trying to come forth but were, at this point in his narrative arc, necessarily tamped down.
Quite enjoyable.

Vader’s final confrontation with Cylo...and Doctor Aphra! But how will the Emperor take finding out that Vader has been operating behind his back?
As the final issue of the series, this issue is all about wrapping up the plot threads. Vader finally gets to deal with all of his remaining rivals and put to rest the idea that the Emperor is looking to replace him. The biggest downside to this is there are really no surprises since we know that Vader survives to play a role in The Empire Strikes Back. And the other major plot point of Vader searching for Luke Skywalker has to remain unresolved until we get to that movie as well. So while this series was really fun and interesting, ultimately everything has to stay on the table until Empire. It kinds of makes the series seem irrelevant, but it does provide for some very fun stories and some equally great character moments for Vader himself.
This issue also has a backup story focusing on the Tusken Raiders on Tatooine. Apparently this is a “cut scene” from many issues earlier when Vader visited his homeworld. While waiting for some bounty hunters, he decides to slaughter another Tusken village for old times’ sake. But one survivor relates the tale to a tribal shaman causing quite an uproar. I’m guessing this will be a story that’s picked up somewhere down the road, but I wasn’t really a fan. It kind of didn’t make logical sense, so I’ll have to see if this thread gets picked up.
Overall, this was a really excellent series that provides some greater depth to the Dark Lord of the Sith and a deeper look into the machinations of the Empire itself.

A generally satisfying run that I enjoyed reading. As Canon, it's been kind of fun to see how different small bits (particularly Krrsantan) showed up in properties that have been my way into Star Wars (having never been a huge fan, except for KotOR and KotOR 2).
The strength of this series, however, was definitely the pieces around Vader. One of the major problems with The Book of Boba Fett in my opinion was that the two main characters are basically the same stoic loners. They never really had a good reason to work together and they weren't particularly fun to watch on screen if they weren't fighting something. That is, of course, also a good description of Vader. As such, having 000 and BT1—both of whom are very fun—as well as Dr. Aphra—whose behavior and motives are sometimes weird, but who's ultimately a wily and interesting character—helps to balance out The Galaxy's Most Toxic Man™ and it makes this particular run of comics fun.
Also, 25 was good. I didn't need more than 25. I guess there are other seasons of Vader comics and I'll try them out, but I really felt that the limited run which featured one major story arc with minor arcs in-between, was about the only way this was going to work. One seriously risks Vader's gravitas if one has him on screen too much and if the viewer is privy to too much of his inner life or struggles.
I definitely recommend it for dorks like me.

A good ending to the Vader arc, complete with a few clever bomb drops at issue endings that made me want to keep pressing on. I got a little tired of the Cylo “drama” at the end but it really connected some good plot points leading into Episode V.

An artistic, and interesting, take on Vader’s visit to a certain Tuscan raider colony on Tatooine. Haven’t read anything like that before. No spoilers. Keep an open mind :)

The very best comic series I've ever read, all twenty-five (25) issues. I am not even a diehard Lord Vader fan - I mean I do like his character a ton, but he is not my #1 pick. These comics however... really make it extremely difficult not to fan boy over Vader hard. I am beyond impressed how amazing these were from start to finish.

A masterpiece, plain and simple. It all comes together very well. And so much for Vader being the sympathetic hero, dang that is some evil stuff son. Couldn't be happier with this story. Highly recommended

This series has been a really fun ride and I'm sad to see it end. Where this series excels is in filling the gaps of the canonical story between Episode 4 and 5, such as how Vader felt upon realising Luke was his son, and how Vader rose through the imperial ranks by Empire when he was just Tarkin's lapdog in ANH. I am slightly disappointed at the antagonists. Cylo and his minions, while interesting characters in their own right, didn't offer Vader much of a challenge despite all that build up. But overall, I loved this series and I cannot wait for the Doctor Aphra spinoff to be released.

Por lo que me ha hecho dsifrutar este número, por lo que me ha hecho gozar TODA la serie, por el cierre tan perfecto y medido y un dibujo que ha vuelto a su cauce, por todo eseo, os recomiendo, no sólo ese número, si no los veinticinco anteriores, ahora en un tomo Omnibus que te permite leerla entera con más comodidad. ¡Bravo Gillen, Larroca y Delgado!
