I didn't get the feeling the author had an intimate knowledge of what she was talking about. Also referring to herself as "we" when the book has one listed author was weird and off-putting. Last half of the book was littered with typos, averaging 2 or 3 per page. The resources included were good. I hadn't heard of yurts before this. Everything else was fairly common knowledge. I would have enjoyed this more without all the typos.
This book is concise and easy to read, and gives some great advice for things to think about before moving into a tiny home, and how to go about it. It doesn't go into exceptional detail, however, so maybe consider this as an initial read if you have thought about a tiny home. I was also hoping for more pictures as a little inspiration, but other than that it puts across some important points to consider. Definitely recommend as your first steps toward moving into a tiny home!

This was easy to read but not enlightening for me as I could find much of this information on blogs, YouTube, and with a simple Google search. However m it did get me excited about the idea of this type of lifestyle.
I am preparing to downsize from almost 5,000 square feet. I wanted to see my smallest options. Lisa's book made that possible. I clicked through many of the links Lisa provided to see examples of the tiny homes. Tiny Homes helped me to see that I do not want to downsize all the way to "tiny."
Lisa convinced me that I do want a small home with a lower monthly mortgage and taxes, lower upkeep costs, lower utility bills, along with less cleaning.
Lisa offers examples and pictures of tiny houses. And she identifies the many things one must consider when deciding to go small, no, tiny.
I recommend this book for anyone who is considering downsizing. It helped me to imagine what it would be like living in a very small home. I know it helped me decide on the "Goldilocks" option. The house I am in is too large. The tiny houses are too small. After finishing this book, I have a much better idea of what will be "just right" for me.
I may never move into a tiny house, but I am fascinated by the possibilities and downloaded the book when it was offered free. I was hoping it would live up to its title as the "ultimate" guide. It didn't, although it was a handy overview of some of the main options (container homes, free-standing, trailer-pulled, yurts, etc.). Daniels provides links to some good sites but stops a long way from ultimate. For anyone just starting to contemplate radical downsizing, the book provides an introduction. But if what you're looking for is real detail, you'll be left hungry.
You can find many ideas about minimalist home designing. The book gives you some examples all around world. Turkish and Icelandic home designs look great. Good reads..
