Whew! This was a roller coaster ride!!!🎢🎢 This was a re-read. It was still funny af. It was still good af. COULD NOT PUT OT DOWN!!! Moving on to book 2.
3.5 stars….Toxic is how I would describe this series so far! Poor Peaches can’t catch a break with her extremely over protective brother! There was never a dull moment in this storyline. I will say I am not a fan of all the fighting that’s going on in the storyline. For King to be so protective of Peaches I don’t see how he keeps putting his hands on her. I love a toxic storyline but the physical abuse is a turn off. Both female and male characters were extremely aggressive without cause. I’m going to keep reading the series and see how things play out with Blaze and Peaches.
Peaches is a twenty-something year old girl who is a walking ball of contradictions. The orphaned daughter of a street king, she was raised by her older brother after her parent’s untimely death. She is spoiled, materialistic, violent, intelligent, over-the-top emotional and quick to pull her gun on someone. Rumor has it she’s a virgin, but she has an addiction to oral sex, which she indulges in with random guys as the whim hits her, making her not quite the “innocent” she’d like to be seen as.
King, her drug lord older brother, is protective of her to a fault, violent, and philandering. Quick to smack anyone up, including Peaches, he says what he means and means what he says: Leave Peaches Alone! Anyone caught dealing with her in a way he feels is inappropriate will feel his wrath. And Peaches, if she knows what’s good for her had better toe the line!
Then enters Blaze, fresh out of the joint and everything Peaches prides herself on wanting nothing to do with. He is mean, violent, drug-dealing and possessive. Although her mind tells her to steer clear of him, the attraction between them just can’t be denied. It doesn’t help that he is determined to have things his own way, even if he has to kill up the world to make it happen. Not used to being told no, he completely bypasses every boundary Peaches and King put up to keep them apart and before you know it they are involved. His mouth is vicious and his hands are quick to strike. It seems that this young girl has gotten in way over her head.
The first thing that comes to mind with this book is a quote I heard many years ago, “Show me the beginning and I will show you the end.” While it is apparent that Peaches is trying to not get sucked up into his vortex, she is playing with fire. Like many young girls, she doesn’t address the issues that are present right from the beginning and allows herself to get caught up into his madness.
This book had me so angry at times wishing I could reach through the pages and wring the necks of these disrespectful young men, because I see all too often young girls who don’t know their own worth succumbing to the madness of others as if they have no options….and it just appalls me. This fast paced story of friendship, coming into one’s own and love (even with the wrong one) is a definite page-turner. JPeach tells an interesting story with a real urban girl-next-door type vibe. The characters are believable, humorous and dealing with real issues. Used by a person with a desire to teach our youth a better way, this would be a great book to share with young girls on the dangers of getting mixed up with the wrong people and of revealing the consequences of one’s actions. 5 stars _____ Reviewed by Tumika
I have read and reread this series so many times it should be illegal. I love this book with my whole heart. I first found this book back when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL HAHAHA … definitely was a little too much for me but I loved it nonetheless the less.
Peaches is you’re definitely of a ride or die, don’t take no shit type of female. Her girls are just like that. I loved how they had each others backs through the whole series and the dynamics changed between them all, like it does in real life.
Blaze had me dying laughing and just face palming myself so many times. I wanted to hit him upside his head like Momma B. I loved how he grew eventually, but still remained an asshole at the end of the day. He being an ass made my whole day and the smile on my face never fade.
This series is the best thing ever. I think I might go reread it for the 20th time again. ❤️❤️❤️
This book will have you laughing and shaking your head at the same time. These characters will have you wondering what is wrong with them especially with their antics. Peaches and her no strings attached mentality while also having several men at her back and call. But there is just one guy who she can't seem to shake or have control over and that's Blaze. I'm convinced he's Bipolar with how aggressive and demanding he is when it comes to anyone within reach of Peaches and then he switches up to get her to understand his reasoning for he acts like he does. Blaze and King are definitely two alphas that don't back down and it looks like things will get ugly fast between them. Curious to know the outcome after that ending.
So I will say that the book has a few minor issues regarding grammar and punctuation that could’ve been fixed with another once over from the editor, but I absolutely love this book. I believe part of it is probably nostalgic. I remember when the author first wrote this book and had it on Wattpad. Teenage me would definitely swoon over some of the toxic male characters. Re-reading it as an adult doesn’t quite have the same effect on me, but I still think the books are enjoyable nonetheless. That being said, I am a fan of mess and drama so that lines up. I love a good hood book. Never got around to finishing the whole series so I think I’m gonna put that on my list of things to do.
Baby, let me tell you the ending had my mouth open like wtf! I need to know what sly dog azz been doing prob married with a whole azz family. Blake & King are my ish though I like that kind of crazy. Should've known never trust a ninja named Sam dated one he was foul as hell for real. He knew his boy claimed Peaches & she was just pissed so he basically became one of the mouth ninjas added to her collection.
I can read this series over and over again!!! Definitely one of my favorites!!! I bought all 7 books and if you haven’t read this series:.. it’s your loss!!! Page turner!!! Great storyline!!
This book was very interesting! Man I couldn’t put it down. That damn Peaches is hell I tell ya! Some got a mouth on her and King ass is just as reckless! But Blaze baby is the most disrespectful one of them all! I hope pt2 comes out soon
Blaze and Peaches just about gave me a heart attack!! Either I was laughing too hard or hollering at them!! Whew, can't wait to see if their relationship over before it starts!!
Omg!! I can't believe it's 2021 and I've just heard about this series and author. These characters are crazy and I love it. Peaches is too hot for this nonsense she stirring and King is crazy but not crazier than Blaze. This is a must read, but who just got shot.
OK Peaches done got on my whole entire nerves. Real talk all of them have except Mike maybe. He's there just not over the top yet. On to part two for more drama to unfold. Can't wait to see who got shot?
I can never get enough of Blaze. Him and Peaches together is like dynamite. So combustible. They are a match made in heaven. Getting ready to read pt 2.
I think this is my first book by this author. This series started off with a bang. The whole crew of friends is crazy lol. Peach is going to be the death of one of these men 🤭
This book has all the excitement you can ask for. Peaches is crazy. I love that she can hold her own and she has her own. Blaze is going to have his hands full.
I'm Liking This Book So Far. My Favorite Character Got To Be Blaze. Sam Is Cool Too But I Like Blaze. I Wanna See Where Things Go Between Peaches & Blaze. Good Book ❤
