FINDING HAYDEN

An island in a novel intrigues me. Will it be a sanctuary or a prison? In Finding Hayden by Jodie Esh Hayden an Iraqi war veteran is returning to his home plagued by PTSD. Lily has come to the island to leave her old life behind her. When the two meet a relationship begins that goes beyond romance.
The story took many turns as Hayden and Lily dealt with their own demons as well as coming to terms with each other's.
This book was an enjoyable read. It was always on my mind when I wasn't reading it and I was always anxious to get back to the story which was always evolving. Upon finishing the book I was delighted to read the epilogue. I felt the book was truly ended and I could put to rest waiting for a sequel. I felt satisfied. A good experience after reading a book that I liked so much.
I received this book for an honest review.

This review is from: Finding Hayden (The Coopers Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
This is the first book I've read by Jodie Esch, but it will NOT be my last. She has given us a book about love, acceptance, and understanding. I loved Lily and Hayden's story. I loved the suspense of why Lily has been running. At times, you may need some tissues, but every tear is worth it. I recommend this book to everyone that loves a romance book with a side of suspense. One-click your copy and find a new hero in Hayden. I can't to read more from this series and this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I loved it so much I had to purchase it.

The book started out fairly well and was well-paced. The female lead is an Asian adoptee and has escaped her past to live on the island. She is attracted to Hayden, who is harboring his own pain and trying to work through his own problems. Lily is persistent in pursuing him and is fairly patient with him once he finally comes around. Being called Finding Hayden gives one the expectation that the book is about Hayden, and it is mostly about helping Hayden and getting through to him. Once you get past the middle, there are multiple subplots that take over the story, taking away from the main story. I think the story would have been much better had it focused on Lily and Hayden rather than splintering into different directions. Underlying each is still Hayden but I don't believe they were necessary. Lily's own story is resolved fairly quickly, which was a bit disappointing.

Overall, this was not a bad book. I don't feel like I ever really found Hayden because the ending seemed a little rushed.

Finding Hayden allowed me to escape each night with its wonderful descriptive writing. I was able to quickly visualize where these characters lived and begin to learn who they were. I like that familiarity when you go back to a book each evening and you settle into their lives and enjoy the story as it unfolds. This sounds predicable but the excellent character development with the tension and conflict provided by the plot kept you wondering – it kept you hoping.
The two main characters, Hayden and Lily, each grapple with serious personal challenges. They meet and despite obstacles a connection develops which ultimately changes the course of their lives. The indomitable spirit and mutual attraction shown by these characters reveals an exciting, must-follow plot. Great cover too!

Lily works as a waiter and her boss allows her to cook and try new recipes.
Hayden is a good man hidden in a tortured mind after the last deploy in Iraq.
This is the first book I read of Jodie Esch and it won’t be the last. It was so full of twists and turns that you didn’t have a minute to breathe. I loved how Lily was able to see deep down into Hayden’s soul and see the beautiful man hidden there. I loved how Hayden helped Lily when her own demons got to her. And I loved the secondary characters as well, they are caring and helpful. Stanley Island is a place where only good people live, a place that should be a real one.
I highly recommend this book to all the lovers of a good romance.

Lily and Hayden are one step away from great love. She is running from her past, trying to rebuild her life through food and friendships. Hayden is living with PTSD, a journey he wasn't expecting.

Jodie Esch has be able to spin a beautiful story about love, family and friendships and everything in-between. I think Lily should put out a cook-book, her breakfast baking seemed to bring everyone in the community together.

I honestly laughed out loud, shook my head of frustration (you'll have to read it to see why) and had a tear or two as Hayden and Lily's journey unfolded. Thank you Jodie for a great tale of escape, survival and sanctuary.

I loved this book. Very thoroughly developed characters, and setting , and backstory. It gripped me. So much pain. This book was chock-full of wonderful advice and life lessons for us all. Tackling such an emotional issue can be very taxing. This book does an amazing job with it. I would have preferred it as a clean romance though.

This was such a powerful story. My first read from this author but I will definitely read more. Hayden and Lily are both the keepers of their own secrets. The question is, can they find it in themselves to find happiness together. A very powerful, strong characters and story that pulls you in.

This is such a beautiful story! It's nicely developed with such a great story-line. I look forward to reading more "Coopers" stories. Thoroughly enjoyed Lily and Hayden's story! Hayden suffers from PTSD, which are a results of his military service. Lily is looking for a sanctuary. These two meet and what a lovely story they have. It's a wonderful romance with a splash of suspense.

This is a book that you do not want to put down ,you need to know what Lily Morgan is hiding from and you need to know what happens when she meets Hayden Cooper an ex soldier and hero suffering from PTSD. There is suspense and sometimes you feel like crying but it was a very good book and I hope there will be another book for this series.
