My usual favorite reads are YA and MG novels. This book is quite a switch, inspirational Christian non-fiction. You'll notice my read time was a little bit longer than normal. I inhale novels. This book, although only 150 pages, required some rumination. I couldn't just whip through it. The stories and bible teachings brought up too much emotion and questions.

My first impression reading this book was that women were really poorly treated in biblical times. The author has a gift for taking stories I've heard my entire life, stories that focused on the male characters, and pulling out the woman's narrative. Michal's story was particularly heartbreaking, and I felt like I was reading it through her eyes for the first time. But the author always shows that despite living in highly discriminatory cultures, God never treated these women as less than their male counterparts.

If it sounds like this book is primarily for women, you are correct, not that a man couldn't enjoy the teachings.

This book is also designed as a devotional, and I agree that is it's best use, as a personal study once a day, or several times a week, or, perhaps, as part of a weekly woman's group meeting. There are places to write in the book, so individual copies are a must for best use.

Not just about rejection, this book is about finding our worth in God. Highly recommended if you have struggled with over coming feelings of rejection, but also if as a woman you have ever felt less in God's eyes.

At first glance, this is not a book subject I would be drawn to, but it's written by an author that I greatly admire. I'm sure she's going to surprise me with her insightful writing, and I'll be glad I gave this one a chance. Looking forward to reading my copy.

Author Janice Broyles addresses the myriad of ways that women can suffer from rejection. She speaks to the different forms that rejection can take and the crippling effects of such. Janice applies wisdom from a Biblical viewpoint and gives sound advice on how to avoid the pitfalls of feeling rejection and how to recuperate from such wounds that rejection can inflict.

Whether it comes from strangers, or those that you know and love, a lack of acceptance and feelings of inadequacy can afflict anyone and cause hurtful wounds that may take a lifetime to overcome. "No Longer Rejected" can serve as a protective fence to save you from hurt, or as a healing medicine to recover you from those emotional scars. I recommend this book for those who have experienced such painful circumstances.

This is a very inspiring book. The core chapters focus on one female biblical character. The chapters highlight how this woman was rejected. The author brings each section fully to life by sharing her own experiences in each of these sections. This book is very, very relatable. If rejection is one of your life's struggles definitely read this book. I won this book a while back in a good reads first reads give away. The quarantine gave me time to focus on the positive changes I want to make in my life. My life long struggle with rejection is on of those things I wan to deal with. I picked up this book and it gave me perspective.
