Deanna is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn't writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, making glass beads, or out hocking her wares at various bead shows across the country. Zeke the alien and Opal the woman on the run. Disappointing. Meh. Opal was Jennifer until she joined a mail order bride agency to escape an alien that wants to suck her energy. Her hubby to be is one of 3 brothers that own a brewery in New Orleans. They are also aliens. The world building is SUPER weak to the point of non-existent. There are aliens but they aren't very alien AT ALL. It's Earth but is it the future? an alternate reality? No clue as none were given. Zeke loved before . Opal's character was pretty characterless except that she's super beautiful. I still don't get the whole mail order bride thing? Why was that necessary??? Especially as it isn't even part of the plot? Over all it was unsatisfying despite my liking other books by this author, I won't continue with this series.
Check out this review and others at www.Twinsietalk.com www.Facebook.com/Twinsietalk www.Twitter.com/Twinsietalk www.Tsu.co/Twinsietalk Newsletter : http://eepurl.com/brwkPv Zeke by Kenzie Cox I received this book for an honest review. I love this author and her short stories. I devoured all of her shifters and was sad to see the series end soooo imagine how excited I was to get a new novella!!! EEEP….plus what a fun concept…mail order brides for aliens who live in here in the USA. Zeke and his brothers, Gunn and Echo, are running a brewery but also helping woman who need protection from the other aliens who are not so nice. Opal is a girl on the run. She takes door number 3 in her possible mail order hubby picks but honestly is just looking for the farthest place away from what she has known. She is hoping no one will find her because if they do, she is dead. When Opal arrives you can see the attraction between her and Zeke but his past is stopping him from actually jumping in and claiming Opal for his own. I loved the chemistry and the fact that his brother is what finally gets his head outta his butt and made him realize Opal is worth it. We can kinda seeeee what is going to happen and how the bad guys are going to find Opal but the twist or all the sci-fi stuff made the story amazing. The joining of energy and life forces was super cool to read. I am sooooo looking forward to Gunns book next and CANNOT wait to meet his intended bride.
Super rushed and short. In my opinion it's not worth the $3. If it was 3-4 times longer and had more character development instead of a alien that was more like a regular human man and the main characters not having sex and encountering the enemy in less than 24 hours than yeah it would have been worth it. Disappointed as it had potential.
Love alien romance on earth sign me the f up also if your into the usual mail order bride genre this probably isnt what your expecting HOWEVER give i a try and dont expect the usual since its still really good and yeah dont consider it full mail order bride but more fake fiance style stories...
This alien romance with a little bit of danger was a perfect afternoon read. Hot sexy aliens and a mail order bride who is really in hiding made a great story.
I will admit I was hesitant about diving into the alien romance trope. This was exciting and steamy. I loved the instant connection between Zeke and Opal. Opal was a heroine in her own right. Not a damsel waiting to be rescued. It was a nice change of pace.
A VERY short story that never really builds the world the characters exist in. The story is rushed causing you to feel like the important parts of the story were left out.
Jennifer Carter had it all. She had wealth, looks and who she thought was a great boyfriend. But when he shows his true colours, he's an energy stealing alien, Jennifer runs. She finds The IDA who can relocate her once she has picked a potential groom. But she is aware that the IDA is also an underground railway of sorts for females escaping the energy stealing Azurites.
Now named Opal, she lands in Bayou Springs, now looking less like the socialite she was and she hopes that she can stay under the radar. This little town has taken aliens to the heart and they are on everything! When she gets a less than warm welcome she wonders if she has down the right thing. Then she meets Zeke and everything, including her lady bits, perk up!!!
I loved this story! Energy stealing, power hungry bad guys and strong protective heroes. Zeke has his own tragic story and I loved hearing about him and Winnie. Lots of twists and there are treasonous goings on in the Bayou!!! Well paced and energetic. Can't wait for more!!
Jennifer Carter soon to be known as Opal was is in trouble and running from the power stealing Simon Stanley. He attacked her, fed off her then cleaned out her trust fund. To keep her off his radar the intergalactic dating agency has relocated her to keep her safe Her new mate is going to be Zeke Arnot he is from the Quartz clan and owns the Lunar Eclipse Brewery in Bayou Springs, Louisiana One touch started a heat between them but is she really safe here from Simon? LOVE the storyline, great twist with the dating agency being an underground to get the women to safety. Lots of action, fast paced, and spicy too! SyFy fans it's out of the world! Voluntary reviewed this copy and I honestly loved it
Alien encounters of the best kind! Opal uses the Intergalactic Dating Agency to run from an alien looking to steal her life force, love is the last thing she is looking for. Of course the uber hot alien (Zeke) she is "mated" to gives her tingles, literally. Instant attraction, and some strange exchanges occur, and both Opal and Zeke are changed forever. However not everyone is happy for the union and they are betrayed to the alien she ran from. Really cute series, short, steamy, and loads of fun to read!
Opal is running for her life and when she goes to a new place she thinks she found it but she never expected a sexy alien to keep her safe. Zeke lost his love and he is looking for vengeance but when a human comes to him seeking shelter he did not expect sparks to fly between them. Problem is her problem is his past and now he has to keep Opal safe along with his people.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is book 1 of the new series Bayou Springs Alien Mail Order Brides by the author.
This is a fun, fast paced short read that had me roped in from the beginning. I have enjoyed Kenzie Cox's books and with Zeke, The Bayou Springs Mail Order Brides she doesn't disappoint.
Loved the story line, the twists she incorporates to keep us guessing. Loved the zing Opal and Zeke felt and what it means, loyalty, betrayal and humor.
This book is different than who I usually read but I couldn't put it down. A must read
This is the first in a new series and I really enjoyed it. The author knows how to quickly draw in the reader and keept the turning the pages. This is a fun story (and series) that has me looking forward to reading more.
After receiving a copy of this title from the author, I voluntarily chose to review it.
Another awesome novella by Kenzie Cox, aliens, love at first sight, lust, attraction and steamy energy sharing toss in some action adventure and hot guys, there you have the perfect brew. Great characters and left me wanting more.
This was an amazing short story. I wasn't sure because I'm not big on aliens to be honest but Kenzie is an amazing writer and I loved it so much. The chemistry was wonderful.. this was all awesome. and im so glad i got to read it
