A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy-degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking - and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writers’ meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and making the finals in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart contest, she now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion, plenty of surprises, and, of course, the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

Another sweet addition to the series. I loved how the Farraday’s embraced helping Catherine when she came home and how all of them did what they could to help Stacey. Connor especially seemed to be wrapped around Stacey’s finger. I loved the way that Connor noticed being around animals and helping seemed to be bringing Stacey out of her shell. With each day spent at her grandfather’s ranch Catherine seemed to be discovering more and more about her past and how much was taken from her when she moved away as a kid.

The ending to this one was great, I loved that Connor was able to fulfill his dream and get a HEA with Catherine and Stacey.

Ralph Brennan lived next door to the Farraday's. Eileen Farraday was over at his house to help him go through his dead wife's things. He went to sit down for his afternoon nap, and when Eileen went over to give him his lemonade, she found him dead with a smile on his face.

Connor Farraday and Ralph had an understanding that Conner was going to buy his land to raise horses. Connor has been working on an oil rig to raise the money for Ralph's land. Ralph's granddaughter, Catherine, who hadn't been to his place since she was a young child inherited the farm. Catherine and her daughter Stacy came to the farm a week before the funeral. Catherine was a big attorney in the firm where here father was a partner. She spent most of her time at work. Her husband had died in a car wreck two years ago. Her daughter Stacy was in the car and had tried to wake her father. She hasn't spoken since the accident. Catherine left Stacy at the kitchen table while she brought their luggage in. Stacy saw a dog and followed it onto Farraday land where Conner was out riding. He saw Stacy with an animal and was fried it was a wild animal that would hurt her. As he got closer, he saw it was a dog that was growling at Conner. About that time Catherine was looking for Stacy and saw her with the dog. The dog settled down when Catherine talked to it. They got To Stacy and the dog ran away. Connor needed to talk to Catherine about the land, but now wasn't the right time. You need to read the book to see what happens.

This was a great book that I loved. Connor had some insight on how to get Stacy to talk again, but knew Catherine would not be happy. Catherine found out things about her past she didn't know about. Catherine and Connor spent time together and got to know each other better. Of course we get to see mor of the Farraday clan. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Well, we're off to Farraday Country again and we'll spend a lot of time on the cattle-ranching west Texas Farraday ranch. Connor is one of seven children He was raised by his father Sean and his aunt since his mother passed away after the birth of her seventh child. Connor knew from a young age that he had a special connection with horses and felt it was his calling to raise and train them. After giving Uncle Sam four years of his life he settled hours from home to work in the oil fields. This was a fairly quick way for him to earn enough money to make the down payment on the ranch next door to his father's.

He and Ralph, who owned the neighboring ranch that had once been Farraday land, had an understanding that when Connor had enough money saved he would return home and purchase the ranch. Unfortunately, Ralph passed away before Connor returned home to finalize the purchase and the agreement was but a handshake deal.

Enter Catherine Hammond, Ralph's big city legal eagle granddaughter, and her young daughter. She was a widow and her little girl suffers from PTSD and has not spoken since the night she and her father had a horrific car accident that took her daddy's life. She had been left alone with him until help arrived and was hysterical she could not wake him. She has been traumatized for the past two years.

Catherine has been lied to by her father her whole life. Serious lies, life-changing lies and omissions. Now she has to figure out what to do with her grandfather's ranch and she just might want to keep it herself for summer vacations and the like. Now, where will this leave Connor who has worked for many years to be able to purchase that ranch.

I loved this book! It was such a good story and we get to see the infamous wild dog from books one and two. I highly recommend this book and well as the others in this series which are all great.

Connor (Farraday Country Book 3) is by Chris Keniston. This series of six brothers and a sister is a play on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The Farraday boys were all named by the alphabet like the brothers in their Mother’s favorite movie. Their Father stood his ground and refused to give any of them the names from the movie. However, since their Mother’s passing, they were brought up by their Father and their Mother’s sister. They were brought up working on the Farraday ranch until they were old enough to decide what they wanted to do.
Connor had chosen to go to work on oil rigs to make enough money to purchase the Brennan Ranch next door. He planned to work with wild horses. He is close to making his dream come true when Ralph Brennan dies before they can make the deal to purchase his land. Now what will Ralph’s heir do?
Ralph Brennan had asked Eileen to come help him go through his dead wife’s things. He told her he had made contact with his long-lost granddaughter and had been talking to her and her daughter through the internet. When his daughter died, her husband had taken their daughter and they had seen her only as a small child then lost contact with her. She was very busy, so Ralph intended to clear out his house and go visit her. He tells Eileen how the Farradays and Brennans had come to be neighbors and friends over all these years. Then when she goes to get him a cold drink, he sits down and passes away quietly and peacefully. Will his granddaughter come down and clear out the house and have his funeral or will she just do everything from a distance? Will she sell or keep the place?

Love is a fascinating emotion. How can such a powerful feeling break hearts, mend fences, blend families and cause so many other complications, but prove to be the most sought after feeling in the world? Perhaps, the key to understanding this haunting occurrence is bigger than what we see and factored into what we feel. Connor is currently my favorite story in the Farraday County series. In a world full of so much anger and violence, it's nice to escape into a beautiful canvas of kindness and peace. Catherine and Connor's romance proves that an open mind and an open heart can overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable. Hope and love are two feelings a person can never have enough of. That's the unforgettable message Ms. Keniston delivers in Connor.

I mostly liked it quite a bit until the ending. It all seemed to wrap up very suddenly and without really explaining how things were solved.

For years, Connor had been working and saving to buy Ralph's land. When he is finally ready, is it too late? Ralph has passed on, and his granddaughter, Catherine, inherited the land. She goes there with her daughter, Stacy. As they all get to know each other, Connor finds himself drawn to both of them, but especially Stacy. He feels he can help her. Can he and will Catherine approve? Can they find more than a shared interest in the land? This was a great story, and kept me hooked. I won't lie, I had to grab a kleenex or two! Absolutely loved it!

I loved it except for the fact that Catherine was so stubborn. I didn’t like the fact that Connor kept a secret from her. I adored stacey and how she for in with the rest of the family. Ralph seemed so nice . The relationship with Catherine and her family was never resolved for me. Why didn’t Connor just tell her that he and Ralph had an agreement to buy the ranch. I wanted Charlotte and Jake’s relationship resolves already. Why would you keep a grandchild away from their gramchild. I had never heard of pediatric trauma syndrome so I learned something.

Great addition to the Farraday series!

Absolutely loved Connors book. The book kept me engaged till I could no longer keep my eyes open. The characters were interesting, plot plausible and the chemistry between Connor & Katherine sweet with a hint of more. My favorite parts was the interactions between Conner and Stacey. Would highly recommend this book !

Third book in the Farraday Country series and once I started there went my day, but I just could not put it down. Yes it is about Connor Farraday and Catherine Hammond but the major part which I really liked is Catherine’s daughter Stacey who two years ago was in an accident with just her father and herself ,her father died and she was found trying to wake him up ,she was only two! Stacey has not spoken since that day! Ralph Brennan, Catherine’s Grandfather dies and she comes back to make the funeral arrangements bringing Stacey with her on the first day on the farm Stacey wonders onto Farraday land chasing a dog and Connor finds her and is afraid the dog might attack her. While Catherine is there she starts to see a change in her daughter especially when she is around the Farradays. What happens? This is a story you just want to get to the next page . I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Some reason this is my favorite book in this series but cant pinpoint why. Maybe it is the city girl going to the country OR is it the adorable daughter who doesnt speak OR is it this fantastic family that you wish were your own?. Whichever it is I was sorry to see this heart throbbing country story end.

Connor Follows His Dream.

When the granddaughter of their neighbor comes for his funeral, Connor and the Faraday family adopt the woman and her daughter. Stacey doesn’t talk or smile since her father died. Can country life heal mother sand daughter? Marvelous story of love and the healing power of animals. Recommend.

Another tough, but charming, cowboy who is working toward his dream, but still makes time for others in his life. The conversations between the characters is just what one expects in real life--- that is only one of the reasons I enjoy Ms. Keniston's work. Easy, sweet romantic read that I highly recommend.

Connor Farraday
Catherine Hammond

Catherine comes to West Texas to plan a funeral for her Grandfather and take care of his affairs. She brings her 5 year old daughter, who is suffering from PTSD. Connor has been working oil rigs offshore to make money so he can start his own horse stable. He has already made a deal with Mr Brennan, Catherine’s grandfather to buy his ranch, but when Mr Brennan dies he’s afraid his dream may not happen. This is a very good book. It’s a fast, enjoyable read. I thought both Catherine’s and Connor’s characters are like able and keep you interested. I really enjoyed Connor’s relationship with Catherine’s daughter. I will definitely read more in the series.

A nice escape

We've all had a few rough years with the pandemic. Our family has suffered more loss and has had our faith tested. This book and the previous two in the series was just the perfect light reading to help me relax and enjoy the little things, and be truly thankful for what we are blessed with. Thank you...

romance

Light and breezy romance, everything works out a little too easily, quickly and incomplete. Where are Toni’s parents for the wedding? What happened to her husband’s estate? What about the mistress? For Stacy and Charlotte where is her father? Is she going to try to stay in the business? What’s going on with DJ’s other abuse case?

Quickly the story about the two lead characters, Connor and Catherine turns to the needs of darling Stacey. For two whole years her PTSD has haunted her until Connor zero’s in on a brand new solution that turned out to be so powerful it worked! Read this book next on your list. What a fantastic series too. 5 stars.

Connor and Catherine's story was as lovely as the two previous ones. Each book stands well on its own, but the continuity detail of the mysterious dog really adds to the story! Looking forward to grabbing the next book.

Love it

City girl and country boy taking in love, a little girl traumatized. Keniston does a great job of storytelling and incorporating unintentional equine therapy in this story. Highly recommend this book and the whole series.

Enjoyable

A likeable cast of characters, a strong sense of place, and an interesting (though far from unique) plot. However, there was a shallowness that the first book in this series didn't have.

Love the protectiveness of the DOG! He's a mystery but the little girl sure loves him. The old saying stands, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. Negotiate that horse mom. Love this book.

This series keeps the whole family engaged throughout the stories and each member has their own story even as it intertwines with the others. Loved how they delved into horse therapy. Many people can be helped with it so it is nice to see other types of therapy explored.
