While en route to the assault on the Colteron shipyard, Cain's troubled past comes back to haunt him when he is forced to confront the feelings he has developed for Abel. Can Cain ignore his guilty conscience and draw Abel even closer, or will jealous rivals aboard the Sleipnir succeed in driving them apart?
Review: You can find my series review in my review of Ch. 1! Below are my thoughts for this chapter specifically.
First Read Thoughts (Ch. 4):
Ok, wow, this chapter was a VAST improvement over the others. I mean, this one finally made the whole thing start to feel like a real, legit story---not a ton actually happened plot-wise, but there were some twists, there was backstory shown, there was character and relationship development (including for side characters), there was emotion, there was humor...
*SPOILER* *END SPOILER*
But man, why wasn't there more about Encke and Keeler?! Because they were freaking adorable. Within just the few pages they had, I was already sympathizing with each of them, feeling the emotion between them, and swooning over their relationship. The scene when Praxis told Ethos he wanted to help him, not Abel, was cute too. And that part about the backstory between Cain and Deimos had me cracking up. I would probably feel bad for Deimos though if he wasn't so shady.
Oh, and the artwork was beautiful and detailed.
Anyway, I don't know how this review that was supposed to just be my quick thoughts got so long, so I'll wrap it up by saying I hate that I'll have to wait for more (this is the last complete chapter at the moment) because I am totally invested now!
Things are happening. Things are getting more interesting. Everything is a spoiler now because I'm too deep into this story to keep things vague. Too into everything happening. Loving all the details and characters and relationships. This story really does hook you the deeper you go.
Recommended For: Anyone who likes erotic comics, manga-style artwork, space battles, m/m romance, and romance that starts a little fucked up but ends cute.
I loooove the art in this webcomic and the story obviously. I also have all the editions in the print form so I can enjoy them in all its glory. It does pay of to buy them because at the end of the comic there are always a few extra pages not published in the webcomic and they are marvellous.
This chapter provides more background information, both on the characters and the conflict between the two sides in the war. No sex this time. And apparently Cain is picker than had previously been implied.
It was interesting to see parts of the manipulation and different dynamics on the ship. I enjoyed the backstory for Keeler and Encke that was quite sweet seeing how they were both playing parts and then began to trust each other. Cain, I think is coming to terms that he actually has feelings for Abel, he acted even sweetly organising a blanket underneath the stars for them. We also learn Cain is from the Mars colonies and Abel from Earth wow. I also find it interesting that they can't call each other by their real first names, why? It was nice to have some backstory for a bunch of characters.
★★★★ = I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would re-read every now and then. (review updated August 2020)
Same review for each book as I consider this one long story.
I love Hamlet's art. I started supporting her on Patreon and I plan to buy the whole Starfighter series when Chapter 5 is released. I also purchased the Visual Novel game and I remember playing it for hours. I've been following Hamlet for many years now (since 2014) and have no plans to stop any time soon.
Star Fighter is a dark space adventure based around two characters from completely different social classes. It's sexy and has some drama. I love it!
This 18+ webcomic can be found for free at starfightercomic.com. It’s a deliciously fun, mm, space opera, graphically graphic! Chapters 1-5 are available online.
It’s an enemies to lovers theme, with subplots of political intrigue, space battles, and secret powers. The art style is unique and the storyline intriguing. Loved it!
This story is drawing to a close and final pieces are falling into place. Danger looms just over the horizon, and I'm extremely curious to see how many more times the characters can bone before it gets here!
3.5/5 It gets better and better! Less sex, more story, I like that. But it seems like the next chapter is not coming out any time soon. And things just got interesting... Goddammit.
Wow, this volume did this awesome thing where the plot developed quite seriously and the setting materialized. Well done indeed. I also loved the story between Encke and Keeler, so cuuuute.
Cuando crees que las cosas empiezan ir bien para todas las parejas, resulta que es todo lo contrario. Al menos dos de las cuatro parejas están en buenos términos.
