When Erin’s party plans hit a snag, she has to ask her stepbrother Pearce to PLEASE let her have the sleepover at his house. A group of females in his place was a nightmare he wasn’t prepared for. He agreed against better judgment, but what happened led to the best decision he ever made. Pearce Kraven was working on his twelfth novel when his world tilted on its axis for the second time in his life. Both times changed the man he had become, but this time it was for the best. Lynne Davies had no idea her best friend was keeping the biggest secret she could imagine. Pearce Kraven was her brother. What a b*tch! How could she do that to her? Lynne fashioned herself a super fan of Mr. Kraven’s work and meeting him would be a dream come true. Why would her best friend keep her from meeting him?
This book by CM Steele is one of my favorite and I have read them all. It features not one but two virgins!
The story is about two writers, the hero is more established (he is mid twenties here) with his career and has loads of books published and numerous followers and fans. The heroine is 19 and a newbie writer. She is just starting out but is a big fan of the hero's work, totally crushing here. They meet by chance at a sleepover party of all things. (Crazy awesome right?!) Their eyes meet and bingo, they are in love. And not the neat and clean kind of love. I am talking the down and dirty type of love! I know you guys feel me here!
The story had loads of twists and turns with a gun shy hero hiding from a crazed stalkers fangirl who has tried to kill him in the past. They get together very fasts and they stay together. With other stories thrown into the mix that you just know and seriously hope here that CM Steele will be making them into another book?....PLEASE!
I won't stalk her writer's page too much here... just can't wait for her next book. And I would love it...
If this is a sign of things to come from this author, I am totally IN! I know for certain I will be enjoying this one again and again!
I ADORE THIS BOOK! I feel like I just won the lottery here. YOU SHOULD READ THIS ONE! It's totally safe and worth it with a sweet epilogue that tells you their passion and love have not changed!
This is a cute little insta-love romance about a reclusive author who opens his house up to let his eighteen year old step-sister have a sleepover. Firstly the author in question Pearce Kraven has good reason to be reclusive a stalker nearly killed him six years earlier and so he carefully guards his identity and his life, he makes no public appearances at all spending most of his time alone with just his dog Dexter. Ok, so it's far-fetched because seriously there's no way someone as reclusive as this would open his house up to ten strange females regardless of how much he loves his sister, but he does and the second he sees Lynne he's gone. It's love/obsession at first sight and Pearce goes into instant caveman mode. Lynne is a huge fan of Pearce Kraven's books but she'd no idea at all the famous author was actually her best friends brother. This is a nice easy read but while I enjoyed it and read it in one sitting I felt something was missing, it just didn't seem to flow, the writing seemed a little jumpy at times and the dialogue felt off. Now I'm a picky reader I really wish I wasn't but I am, I can't help it and I'm definitely in the minority here since this book has nearly all 5* reviews. Don't get me wrong this isn't a bad book 3* for me isn't a negative, it's a nice quick easy read and I loved that they were both totally inexperienced.
Another safe, hot steamy read from CM Steele. She continues to give us an ott alpha male, instalove and a HEA! We can depend on a safe story and a great epilogue to boot!
Was that a potential set up for a story about Ellis ??
~older man/younger woman 24/18 ~instalove ~steamy sex scenes ~no cheating or ow/om drama ~no pushing away ~om info ~ow info ~HEA with a great epilogue
All I can say is you can never go wrong with a C.M. Steele book if you want a safe, OTT, instalove, sexy book. I loved Pearce and Lynne's short story. It was so sweet and hott!!! Not much else to say about this one other than I always wish her books were longer but you will get no other complaints from me. ;)
This is the third book in the Best Friend series and I loved it. Pearce Kraven is 24 years old, a successful, brilliant author who writes crime/thrillers. When he was 18 years old his Father married a woman with a 12 year old daughter named Erin, it's also when he published his first book. About a year into his writing career he began being stalked by a fan who came into his bedroom and stabbed him in the chest while he was sleeping. After he recovered he became a recluse, while he was still writing books he refused to do interviews, book signings, or make public appearances. He has no girlfriend, no friends and the only people he socializes with are his family. His stepsister, Erin is now 18 years old and will be starting college when the summer is over. Erin wants to have a sleepover for all her friends before they all leave for college but her Mother will be out of town so she begs Pearce to let her have it at his house. Pearce doesn't like having strangers in his house but he loves Erin so he lets her have the sleepover at his house. Lynne is 18 years old and very mature for her age, she is Erin's best friend. Lynne is a huge fan of Pearce Kraven, having read all his books but she has no idea he is Erin's stepbrother. When Pearce first sees Lynne he is stunned by her beauty and knows immediately she will be his wife. Lynne is angry and hurt when she realizes her best friend kept such a big secret from her until Pearce explains why he likes so much privacy. I really liked this book it was very sweet and once again we have both main characters being virgins. Normally I can't stand when the male is a virgin because it's usually such bullshit but Pearce I could actually see how and why he would still be a virgin so it didn't really bother me.
Writer and recluse Pearce Kraven is used to being alone, sure he has his family but no one has really interested him before. When he agrees to let his stepsister have her sleepover, last hoorah before college, at his house he knows there is one person he does not want to meet, Lynne Davies. He has heard about the troublemaker and frankly wishes his sister would drop her.
Lynne is fuming with her best friend when she finds out her stepbrother is one of her favorite authors. She feels like she has been lied to and then there is the attraction she feels for Pearce. Pearce though quickly realizes his impression of Lynne is all wrong and his sister had misled them about her. He wants her, he will have her, now it is time convince Lynne she is all his.
I thought there was one area in the story that needed to be resolved between Erin the sister and Lynne. I liked this quite a bit, Pearce is unusual because he is so young and been through so much, his reason for being a recluse was unexpected.
So good. I always enjoy re-reading CM Steele. She's my go to when nothing new calls out to me and I just want to sit back, relax and enjoy a sweet and steamy read. -dual virgins -dual POV -no cheating or abuse -some very unwanted OW drama, H has a stalker -epilogue at about 4 years This whole series was great. Wonder if we'll see more from this series...hmm.
This book is a really great quick read. the passion the author portrays about the characters being authors really reflect on how she feels about writing. It was one of the first things that jumped out at me. The story line is something that is believable and the characters are really well thought out. I like how she wrote the male character being a virgin yet he wasn't a sex God from the start like other authors right them to be. I'm a big fan of this authors work but I'm noticing her style is slowly changing... for good reasons. She is growing and I'm super excited now to see what more she has in store for us ❤
°Each other's first and only °Switching POVs °Insta love/lust °She's 18, he's 24 °Possessive obsessed OTT alpha hero °No real OM drama °Unwanted attention from OW (crazy stalker) °No separation °No cheating °No intimate scenes with OP °Epilogue: around 4 years later
This has got to be one of my favorite books by CM Steele. When I started reading it I had a totally different plot line pop into my head and that's one of the reasons why I love CM's books so much - I never know what to expect and I love how she makes it work each and every time. The other huge plus for me was- I tend to steer away from the virgin virgin books. I find them a bit too unbelievable depending on circumstances but there was a reason for Pearce being one. And it made him out to be more realistic about his first time too. His thought process was what I'd assume every guys first time was- I've seen this done/I hope this feels good etc and I loved that realistic touch. Then you have the feelings of his family involved.....I just found it to be such a gripping plot and so well done that honestly I'm gonna have to go and read it again right now.
Pearce Kraven is an author and busy writing his next book, when his sister's party plans hit a snag! So he offers his own house as party central. Even though he doesn't entertain people and has become a sort of recluse. He had an incident a few years back and doesn't do interviews or any public appearances. And lives just between his house, his parents and walking his dog. So when he meets Lynne one of Erin's friends he thinks that he is finally ready to live his life.
This was a quick easy read with lots of twists and lots of chemistry and dirty talk. Definitely another winner.
Meh....this was an okay read. Not sure if it was a case of the book or just the mood I was in. Had some over the top drama with a stalker so that was interesting. I think the step sister Erin ruined this book for me. She was a bitch to Lynn for some inexplicable reason and didn't even try to clear up the 'misunderstanding' with the Ellis boy with anyone in her family. Thank goodness Pearce wasn't a judgmental twat (jealous yes...mean no).
Sleep Tight is the story of Lynne and Pearce. Lynne is Pearce's stepsisters best friend. Pearce is a famous author who is a recluse due to a crazy stalker. Lynne is barely legal and Pearce's biggest fan. All the instalove and yummy alpha-ness I love C.M. Steele for! Must Read!
God knows I love C.M. Steele. She has saved me from boredom many of times. Stop reading this review and buy the book. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Happy reading folks.
First of all I didn't even finish this book, secondly the girl in the book cover kind of creeps me out.... This said, the premise that both the h and H were both virgins and the H was a possessive alpha male sounded good but once I started to read the
Pearce Kraven is a bestselling author. He's also one of the most handsome in the industry. But a traumatic experience compelled him to not show his face anywhere, including the social media and his favorite place to be was his writing cave. When his stepsister made a special request for her and her friends to hang out at his place, he agreed as long as they stay away from him and his business. But one particular friend of hers caught his attention , Lynne Davies. He couldn't believe that the innocent-looking stunner was the one whom his stepmother frowned upon for becoming a bad influence for his stepsister. On the other hand, she couldn't believe that her bestfriend's stepbrother was the author she's been fangirling for years and she never knew. But what they knew for sure was that the attraction they had for each other was mutual. And that one night in each other's arms would just be a first of their lifetime together.
SLEEP TIGHT is a third standalone novella under the Best Friend Series. This book was deliciously wicked and exciting because men who write are simply hot, and the hero in this book was an absolute alpha male author with looks that could cause women commit a crime, just to get his attention. I enjoyed this quick read!
This book would have earned a five stars from me if the each chapter indicated whose POV I was reading and if the little typo errors in the final copy didn't exist. However, these tiny observations are all tolerable, and I still give this book a 4 stars.
I knew when that woman screeched at Lynne in the grocery store, I knew she was the stalker. I'm glad Pearce got back home when he did it he wouldn't have been able to save his sister. Ellis was lucky Pearce didn't strangle him, even though he didn't have a chance with with Lynne.
This is a story has romance, lust, desire, and a deranged female stalker. The man tall handsome author , and a young beautiful smart woman characters both are sexy and great looking people.
I really enjoyed this book. The angst was literally cray cray... She was off her freaking rocker. These characters had a ton in common from pizza to careers, amazing love story!!
Oh Lawd! What a fantastic new book by CM Steele- it hits all my favorite likes in a book- virgin heroine, alpha hero, stalker, angst, passion, and my secret like, virgin hero. Ooohh its enough to have you snapping this up like super-fast. There is a plot twist I didn’t see coming which made this an even sweeter read for me. What you have is Lynne Davies, 19 yrs old, struggling writer who is really good at it, is friends with Erin and going over to her sleep over. Only its being held at her brother’s place this. Only she has never met the brother… come to find out Erin’s brother and her favorite author are the same. Lynne and Pearce, the older brother and hot author meet and its like lighting . And that is how the story really gets going. There are some red herrings and tons of plot twists and jealousies that pop up and make this a good story, one rad story. I loved the intensity of the MC and the how things are resolved by the ending. Lynne is one sweet girl who has had to overcome some things . She isn’t immature like some other characters in the book. I will say, I would love to read Erin’s story…something about this girl even though she is a secondary character , she stood out and I so would love to read her story . As for the MC, Lynne and Pearce , they rock this story out and make it light up. You cant go wrong by reading book 3 in the Best Friend series.
My rating: 4.6 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Totally cute, charming story! Another great ready by C.M. Steele!
Lynne is an aspiring indie writer who is just 18 and graduating. She is best friends with Ellis who's step brother Pearce is a best-selling author himself. Lynne is a HUGE fan of his work but has no idea that her BFF's step brother is this famous author. Pearce hides his identity and stays WAY out of the public eye due to a stalker that terrorized him and almost killed him when he first became famous.
They meet when Pearce agrees to hose a last hurrah sleepover for his step sister when the parents are out of town. Cue insta-love for Pearce and alpha ott possessiveness. Fast paced and some drama too due to that pesky stalker re-appearing!
No cheating, two virgins, HEA, great epilogue.
The only thing that threw me off a bit was that some of the details in the story were a bit confusing the way they were presented - I thought they could have been made more clear. Also the alternating POV's being labelled would have helped keep things straight too.
Would love to read Ellis' story...!

Pierce is a recluse author. After having a traumatic experience with a stalker fan he has cut himself off from the world. That is until his step sister Erin gets him to let her use his house for her end of high school sleep over with her friends. Lynne is supposed to be best friends with Erin, but she has been feeling some tension lately. She feels that maybe now that high school is ending maybe their friendship is too. When she finally makes it to Erin's sleep over she gets a shock of a life time,Erin's brother is Lynne's favorite author. So of course she feels hurt and angered, that she didn't know. What she didn't expect was for the instant chemistry that she would have with Pierce. When Pierce sees Lynne he knows that he has found the one, she will be HIS, no matter what. When these two get together it is sooo HOT!!! Loved this book, great addition to my C.M. Steele collection!!
The minute that young, reclusive author Pearce meets his sister's friend, Lynne, he wants her, despite her age and reputation. Lynne has crushed on her favorite author for a long time, and meeting him knocks her for six.
It was ok. Missing...a something. The plot moved at a steady pace, the instalove was instant, a one particular plot point was handled honestly and sweetly. But it wasn't the hottest story, or a story with the most well-developed characters. It was okay-good, and worth an hour or so.
I am new to this authors work. Short and sweet which I love!! I love how this author wrote that her characters are authors and made the male character not so experienced in the sex department, a welcome change from what I'm used to reading. I love how this author's passion for her characters in this book and that her talent shows in her writing. Can't wait to discover more books by this author!!
