Gosh I am so torn about this book! I loved Beast! I mean really loved him! He was such a good hero. So tortured.
But his past - nope - it does NOT work for me. At all. So every time it was brought up or thought about, my stomach would ache.
Heroine was ok, maybe slightly better than ok. But I did not really like any of her decisions - like ever.
And the major plot twist is one I really do not like.
All that being said, I had so much love for Beast in the present day that I could not rate this a "cop out" 3 stars. He deserved more...

Many of you will not like this just because of his history. But I will say this book is totally safe from OW drama. There is a bit of OM drama from her ex who she is fleeing.
But I will include spoilers since some of the current day stuff may bother others too.

Great short, read!
This series has turned out to be a guilty pleasure of mine.
The characters are total misfits.
They're broken, but loyal.
They're just trying to find a place where they belong, and it appears as the series progresses that they belong together to make a wonderfully colorful family.
This is the second series I've read by this author, and I thoroughly enjoy her light, fun writing style.

Taking on a new indie author can be scary sometimes, but for such a great price...I thought why not. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this little gem was. I liked both broken characters and there were some real laugh out loud moments with the Blackwing Crew. I hope we get more shifters for the future because I wasn't quite ready to leave Kane's Mountain behind. Even though this was a small read it felt big in emotion and the epi was extremely sweet. Looks like I might have a new Indie author to glom on. :-)

This story was fantastic from beginning to end -- filled with laughter, high stakes, and Happy tears!

I just put it down, I have so many good things to say but I can't find my words. I'll be back to write a more comprehensive review but I couldn't go without at least saying WoW, I'm in love with this love story. :-)

Great ending to the series. Wow each one was as good as or better than the last.
I couldn't wait for Beast's story. He was my favorite member of the D-Team. All the members were involved in this one. Dustin.. Oh Dustin you are one hilarious wolf!! I love how he got Beast to yell out he was his best friend! Dustin had Beast's back just like Beast had his before. I was laughing out loud.
We finally get to hear Beast's story and he is so insecure yet so strong and confident. He made me mad with his reactions, but he got it together and won the day.
Kiera poor girl she had been through so much. The D-Team just dragged her in kicking and screaming, but she accepted them and they accepted her. Kane had more insight with Rowan by his side. Everyone was just darn good in this one!
The loving is HOT!! and for Beast being who he was he sure new how to light it up!!

Since Beast showed up I really wanted to know what happened to him, why he was such a loner and why he wanted Kane as a back up to kill him. As he spilled his story my heart broke for him, that he had to go through that when all he was trying to do was take care of his pride.
Kiera's story was just as sad, Kane an old friend she was trying to decide if she should give her greatest treasure.
I was really glad that these two were able to work things out, glad that along with everyone at the end they were able to take care of things. I did find myself laughing at the last scene, it was very much in the spirit of this crew, so dysfunctional, but also loving.

OMG OMG OMG what an epic ending. Just WOW!!!!
This is Beast and Kiera's story and OMG what a story. I freaking love these books I've been with these group from the beginning. I can't imagine what's next for this author. Beast is a monster of a man and lion. Well shoot I don't no what to right without giving anything away lol. Kiera is a rogue ex lioness who was in Apex with Kane. She's running to keep something precious from the lion pride. She hopes Kane will be able to help her. When she sees Beast she begins to doubt her plain. Beast doesn't understand his lion reaction to this sad little ex kitty. When danger once again comes for the D-Team will they be able to make it out this time? Can Beast keep Keira safe from those hunting her and his own self? I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I can't tell you enough how much I've enjoyed taking every step with all the crews. I have absolutely loved each and every character. I'm in awe of how these are all written and the learning curves they all must face. I really don't have the words to explain. So do yourself a favor check out the whole series you will not be disappointed.

Beast is such an interesting character.
I liked the fact he was a king and now isn't a king. I do wish that side is a bit more resolved its kind of finished very quickly in one or two pages and that sucks.
I like her shes a bad ass lioness who isn't a lioness all the time but shes fierce and I found her damn awesome.

It’s going to be really difficult to give up this series, or these people whose lives I’ve followed since the very beginning. Bittersweet is always my feeling at the closing of any series I’ve enjoyed, this one is a little bit more of that since I’ve traveled this road with them all for so long.
Blackwing Beast is slightly longer than the previous stories in Kane’s Mountains – there’s a bit more story to tell for Beast.
Kiera is searching for Kane. She knew him back when they both were in Apex, that horrible group of mad scientists who believed they had a way to rip the animal from Shifters. Thankfully, Apex is now shut down but not before hundreds of Shifters were killed in the process of “cleansing” them of their animal. Not before the damage was done to Kiera. She had heard a rumor that it was possible for shifters to get their animals back through a claiming bite – unfortunately, that isn’t the only ingredient needed but she didn’t know that detail when one nasty piece of work agreed to give her the bite in exchange for sex. Actually, the jerk lion shifter had plans for Kiera.
Now she’s here in Kane’s Mountains. She’s been stalking him and that ragtag crew of misfits of his. What a bunch of losers were her thoughts when knowing the D Team only from what was public record and viewed from a distance. She had a decision to make and soon. Were Kane and his mate, Rowen the right choice for her needs with these dangerous Shifters surrounding them.
Beast has been driven to utter madness from the deaths of his pride. Rumors swirl around him like a whirlwind, but nothing comes close to what the reality is… and he has never denied or acknowledged those rumors. Beast is close to the edge of his control. He has one last thing to accomplish, then he can ask Kane to put him down. Until the lioness showed up, stalking his crew and showing signs of sickness. He might be unstable, but he knew how to protect those he considered his – the D Team, Kane and Rowen.
I’m hoping that there are more stories. I’m hoping that since there were more than the D Team trying for a home in Kane’s Mountains. (Damon’s Mountains had several crews)
Yet, if this truly is the end of this series – it could not have ended any better than it did with Beast and Kiera’s story. Two people who had suffered so much, had so much stolen from them until the point where they were broken almost beyond repair. In each other they found a reason to live. Blackwing Beast brought me to tears of sadness and of joy. If this is indeed the end – I can be content to leave my friends safe and secure in their new home.
What an amazing ride this has been. To say that I highly recommend these connecting series is simply not enough. If you allow them, they will touch a part of your reading heart and never let go.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.

This was such a super emotional book for me! I think its one of my favorites. This was such an awesome ending to the series. I was sad to see it end but happy at the same time...if that makes sense...bittersweet. I knew Beast was going to be a doozy...just knew it. It totally was. I loved Beast because heck yeah he was scary but you can't help but love him and be near this lion. He's had his own hell with what happened to his Pride and everyone labeling him a murderer. I laughed and cried in this book. I cried a lot. Dustin as always made me laugh and seriously that part where him and Emma were chasing Justin in his precious car and before he would clip that vehicle...he made Beast say it. "Your my best friend." That was just priceless to me and really fitting! I loved Kiera...she's really been to hell and back. I am not going to say a whole lot because I want people to read this. Kane and Rowan yeah perfect alphas and what Winter is doing for them is so cool. As always T.S. Joyce delivers one hell of a book! I love her so hard but not in a stalker like way. :) I can't wait to see what she does next. I know we still have some more Winterset Coven coming. That doesnt feel finished yet. :)

One of the best in this series!!! Beast and Kiera were amazing. He is a Lion shifter who list his pride and he has been living with the rumors for a while now. He has been living with the Blackwing crew, but has not registered. He has a goal he wants and needs to achieve. He ends up stalking a stalker...a beautiful stalker.
Kiera has lost much and has suffered tremendously. She has dealt with damage that a life in a facility can cause. She has been stalking the Blackwing crew for a reason. When she is confronted by a scared and handsome shifter she realizes who he is. He is a murderer and she was it's nothing to do with him.
This one touched my heart because you fall in love with both characters. I fell in love with Beast and his whole story... past and present.
I love the Blackwing crew. Dustin is a hoot for sure. He reminds me of Willa from this author's previous stories. I would live a long Christmas story with all the crews being involved. The older crew members and the new younger ones. It would be great to have Dustin and Willa reeking havoc. It would be funny as heck.

Wow I absolutely adored this book. It had an intriguing and captivating storyline, with amazing characters. I loved everything about this book, it had me gripped from the start right up till the last page. It was quiet an emotional read at times but also halariously funny as well, the banter and chatter between these characters was just priceless. Beast and Keira stole my heart, and I love them so much. They have this intense chemistry that radiates off them and through the pages, they are a perfect match. Actually all the characters in this book were really sweet, funny, loyal, they are a family and the author does a great job bringing that point across even if some don't think so at first. This is a well written story that I just couldn't get enough of, and I was sorry when it ended. This was a very exciting and entertaining read!

I loved it. Each one of T.S. Joyce books have a topic but they were diversified. But in all of the series I have read (haven't read all of them yet) those dragons were my fav. It got all, drama, sweetness and humor. Each do have a Ryder or Dustin but Blackwings were different, more lengthy. I got to enjoy twice the reading. Not a novella but not too short.
I won't go spoiling or doing a summary about Beast. It would be all there.

The Kane's Mountains series and Harper's Mountain series are not bad, the only problem though, there is only one formula for all the books. The hero and heroine fall in love instantly and they try to fight it but at the end the are together, and then there are people out there try to hurt them and the whole team goes together and eliminate the danger. The End. That's pretty much it. I love the characters though and that's why I read both series.

And once again you did one better than the last. Let's vex Beast's story. The characters were superb and the storyline was way good. Hope you are going to write some more about the Vamps. And maybe a story with the Vamps and Blackwing crew and Bloodrunner crew reuniting for the common good. I would like that. Something to think about.
