*WARNING* This is not an erotic romance. It does however, have sex when warranted and lots of violence and cussing. You have been warned.
All the gods are dead. Long live the gods. Never forget.
To be reborn time after time knowing, remembering; each past life is both heaven and hell for Ledo. But as a son of Ares the Fates rule his life. His rebirth serves one purpose: to stand with Zeus when he faces Cronus and to die doing it. That never bothered him. He’d lived many lifetimes and knew his destiny, willingly embracing it.
But then came Aria, she too was his destiny, his reward. Both his pleasure and his pain. Protect her he would, even if it meant going against the Fates.
As a scientist, if Aria couldn’t see it, taste it, touch it or calculate it, it didn’t exist. Until the man from her beautiful dreams showed her everything she believed in was a lie. And now that she knew that, her life was forfeited.

Book 2 in the Lost Gods series is Ledo's story. Ledo is the son of the God Ares. He has lived his multiple lives knowing that he only has one goal, to help Ze(Zeus) defeat his father, and he has accepted his fate. Until he meets Aria, then his goals change. Aria is a scientist who only believes in what she can see and what can be proven, Until she meets Ledo. She has never met anyone like him, but she knows what she feels and she's not willing to give him up. Little does she know that the choice may not be hers. I love Greek Mythology so this story was a winner for just on the fact that it's centered around the Gods alone. But this author's twist on the Gods makes this book that more entertaining. Aria wasn't sure about Ledo and if she could believe what was right in front of her eyes, but love has her making decisions base on her heart and her mind soon follows. I love that once Ledo found her he vowed to fight heaven and hell to keep her. This was a great addition to the series and I give it 4 stars. So looking forward to the next book.
Another great book from the Lost Gods Series and it's a keeper just like book #1. Ledo awakens and finds himself confused, naked, sitting in snow , ice and not sure where he is at. He knows that he is there for a reason but not sure what it will be. Aria is a scientist researching why the planet is having all the issues that are going on right now. When she hears a howl , she knows a dog is out in the freezing cold/weather. From then on things get weirder, dangerous and just unbelievable. Ledo and Aria have a connection from the very beginning no matter what Ledo looks like at the time. I don't want to give anything away but this book has everything in it. Action, passion, good and bad guys, love, lust, and always keeps a person on their toes. You never know what will happen next and I LOVE that. Another hit from L. Thompson and I'm betting book #3 will just as fabulous as this one
Another winner for the Lost Gods! Really enjoy this writing and the story twist with Greek Mythology. Sometimes GM can confuse with all thats entailed different creatures and the names etc but this is different and gets you from the get go til the end. This is about Ledo who is Ze's right hand. He's the son of Ares. His main purpose is to stand with Ze. However, after meeting Aria things kinda shift. She's a scientist therefore doesnt see things like most of us do. If she cant see or feel it...doesnt exist. This is their journey and loved every minute of it. :)
I'm really enjoying this series! Ledo is off to check on things and ends up meeting Aria who he recognizes as his but he's in his dog form. Lots happen before she meets him as a man. And then even more after! Be ready to get caught up and not wanting to put the book down! Can't wait to read the next book and see what happens next!
This was interesting. Ledo meets the girl of his dreams when he is in his dog form. And even after she realizes he's not just a dog their relationship stays strong and only seems to grow. The magic and myth of this story makes their short found love believable and I can't wait for the next book.
Such an amazing book. Theres action packed scenes which have you on the edge of your seat, and yes of course theres romance scenes that are hot but they dont take away from story. The characters are awesome, I mean come on some of them are demigods. This book flows so smooth I couldn't put it down.
Ledo is a demi-god, Ares' son, that is tasked with helping Zeus defeat Cronus. Aria is a scientist who only believes in what she can touch, see, taste. After a chance meeting, Ledo will go against the Fates to stay with her. He'll need to stay when danger nears.
Another great story of two souls, descended from the gods themselves, finding each other before the battle for the fate of the planet. I think my perception on Ledo is a bit unique to other readers as I'm familiar with the cover model who the hero is partially based on. So i can picture John/Ledo easily in my mind and i can hear John's slight Bostonian accent when I'm reading Ledo's words. I enjoyed the way that Laverne had Aria grow as a character, including things like having to survive all five of her expedition mates being killed off due to Cronus. The Fates, that foursome have me on edge. I mean i know in book one they make it clear that they're on the side of Zeus and his team....but they're a tricky bunch and i think they're going to rip my heart out in the next book. I do love that Laverne has masked their identities, ethnicities and genders, other than confirming one is female. We haven't seen the son (and destroyer) of Zeus yet since his first appearance. I'm kinda wondering if it's Michael or Linc. Will our heroes be betrayed after (or even before) destroying Cronus once and for all time?
Started with the intention of only going a chapter or two but ended up never moving from my chair. Was hungry and thirsty and didn't realize it. Now comes the wait for Book 3. Again, great characters and a taut storyline. Nice how it tells a different story but is solidly held to the original premise. I'll definitely be checking out the other books by this Writer.
