Momo, with no ambitions, is the ultimate bitch, scum, good-for-nothing guy. Yata-chan is a chill, caring, and naïve youth. During their meeting in a public bathroom when he was in the middle of "cleaning up", Momo takes advantage of the goodness of Yata-chan, and comes rolling into his home. While spending time with him, little by little, the good-for-nothing Momo changes...
At that moment, Momo's former patron--

If I have to be outed as a closet perv, I'm gonna do it for this story. I absolutely love Harada's work, than this on in particular is my favourite. It is supposedly an erotic comedy, but be forewarned: it also features child prostitution and rape. But ultimately, it is an unconventional love story that—and I'm not ashamed to admit it—totally made me cry.

Harada's strength is in the development of his/her characters. Although they do some pretty shocking, sometimes appalling things, but there is such depth and heart to them that you can see the humanity shine through every single one. They show how messy life and relationships can be, how things aren't always clear, but there is forgiveness and charity and grace and peace.

Obviously it is not a story for everyone, for a number of different reasons, but I absolutely love it!

It's barely been a month since I've last read this, but I found out it's on renta so I bought the official English translation and had to reread it. I also decided that I wanted to read all of Harada's works in order of publication because there have been a few I've read that I've missed context for because I hadn't read a previous work so I'm starting from the beginning! Minus the Gintama djs. I don't think I need to read those lol.

I want to bump up my rating to a 3.5 I think. Maybe now that I have more context, I find Momo more endearing than annoying. I've warmed up a ton to Harada and their style of writing as well. They're quickly becoming a favorite. I love how messy their story telling is and how nothing is really meant to be clean or beautiful. All of their works have this like dirty, gritty feel to it. I can't even remember the feeling of not liking it on this read. I didn't get a feeling of it being the best thing I ever read or anything, but I didn't dislike it.

Honestly even if their writing wasn't that great I think I would still support Harada for the art alone. It's just so fucking good. I can't get over it, which is probably why I continued to read their stuff despite not liking it at first. I'm glad I've converted.

More of a 2.5?

I guess I'm just reading through harada's works? I don't think I like them, but like I want to continue reading? This one was better than Asa and Yoru, at least the relationship was. I feel like they're pretty equal, but Yatamomo didn't make me uncomfortable in the same way. The storyline is similar to others I've read and enjoyed, but I don't what it is about this one. It's all about the execution. I can't even explicitly say what's bad about it, but there's something. I like Yata and I don't. I like Momo, but he can be very annoying. I think the way they communicate bothers me and the lack of emotional and mental development. There's some serious shit happening and Yata does talk about it, but it just felt like such an empty conversation. It was going in a decent direction and then it just fell flat.

Idk it's hard for me to explain.

I mean, this book is sex literally every two pages!!! The story is quite dark and sometimes I felt like it was pushed a bit too far but it’s a page turner and it’s very readable so I’ll continue with the other two volumes!

As messy as this was, it was also very good. Yata and Momo are both great characters, flawed, but with many more layers than it first seems. Their dynamic is one that I love, grumpy/sunshine coupled with an overprotectiveness that nevertheless encourages a person to be their own best self. There's still plenty of room to grow for these two together and apart and I'm looking forward to their journey.

Confermo quanto scritto qua sotto.

Non so...

A friend andvised me not to read this. I did believe her because we have similar tastes and know pretty well what we like and don't like to read. I started reading this because I was curious just how bad it was going to be. Three pages in, I knew this was going to be bad. At page 10 or 12 I gave up, closed the tab and came here to write this review.
There are already a thousand red flags despite things only being in the first stage of toxicity and not its final form (yet): emotional and sexual abuse; manipulation; rape and sexual assault; co-dependency; trauma; sexual slavery, etc. etc.
From reviews I've glimpsed that the Seme, Yata, is supposed to be a good guy, which is rich seeing as he instantly shows abusive tendencies. And Momo...well, he needs therapy.

I know exactly where the story is going and none of it is going to be good. I love myself and my time too much so subject myself to this abusive garbage. Moving on.

I do not think the personality of the "kind" character was really portrayed well. I do see the attempts, but he strikes me more as a violent person than a specifically "kind" one, which, judging by the summary, is what the author was going for.
That and I simply couldn't find it in myself to want to finish the story. It didn't arouse my interest or curiosity in any way, and I didn't feel any want to even read the next few chapters. It doesn't hook the reader, and there isn't anything that stands out about it in my opinion. It was pretty bland.
The art was fun though; I liked that.

3,5 stelline

Bye, bye dear readers. Ci riaggiorniamo presto con molte novità.

This Manga is powerful in many ways!
It makes us feel so many different emotions!

It contains mature and heavy themes, and it does it so well!
Some of the scenes were misinterpreted by many people, but it's clear that they were meant to be portrayed as bad. (If you read it, you know what I'm talking about! Not going to give any spoilers here)
Harada (the author) said themselves that they want to explore the BL universe as much as they can, and this is another side that we're not used to see! And they were not afraid to go all the way!

You can really feel the main's character development (and the same goes to other characters too!)
It mixes comedy, romance and emotional moments... And it makes us relate to the characters even more! Because they're human, meaning they have flaws and are trying their best to work through them.

Please read it! It'll be an amazing journey!

My advice, if you're really going to read it is that you should remember that this is not a LOVE-DOVEY story, filled with smiles, and rainbows and that sort of thing.
It is more about the journey of self-discovery Momo, and he sure has gone through a lot.

Thank you for reading this far~

I can't even be mad at this story (so far)
I freaking love Momo. I don't care, okay. He is a soft cinnamon roll and I want to put him in a plastic bubble to keep him safe. I love his personality but also wish he knew it would be okay if he let go sometimes. I can only imagine how much pain is hidden behind his smile and laughter. I hope he can learn to rely more on Yata.

Speaking of Yata, I have mixed feelings about him but I do like him. He is so patient with Momo, because let's face it. Momo can be one hell of a handful no matter how precious he is. But of course Yata isn't a saint. He has his moments were he does go to far and even when he is mad I kinda expect the worst. Luckily he never went nuts like Suda did (Suda is seriously messed up. Dude is a dickbag.) When Yata would explode, I liked that it never took him long to apologize. Even when he was still frustrated he would try to talk it out.

Even though it was just book 1, I love they included a lot of backstory and information -- because I really did worry about that. Lol So I'm glad they gave us that look and showed us why the characters were the way they are.

This is my first yaoi and I have a lot to say. Firstly, it's enjoyable to read it because it's pretty short and the art is undoubtedly beautiful. The dialogue scenes are pretty cute since their dynamic is so soft and I wish it had more of it.

However, it doesn't deliver much development on their relationships, mainly because it's not the main focus of the manga. I obviously knew what I was after when decided to read this, altough I really wasn't expecting that much sex...if it was a little longer, these scenes would become annoying.

Besides that, there are tons of problematic behaviors here and any of them is well discussed, I even think the author doesn't see them as problematic at all. They're just thrown on our faces and that's it, nothing is said about it.

Since I wasn't expecting much, it was a curious and entertaining experience, that I tend to not repeat it.

Hmmm, what to say about Yatomomo so far...

I enjoyed the first volume; both cute and a little sad. Not too much has happened. I don't feel I know the character's enough or have seen enough of the characters to give much of a review. I'm excited to keep reading though and see how Yata and Momo's relationship develops. I think Yata is a good influence on Momo and will help his character grow in a good way.

Also, poor Momo. Yata has such stamina... I hope he's able to control himself a little better and not "Fuck him to death"

Everything was going fine - I don’t mind the heavy presence of sex scenes ‘cause I definitely knew what I was about to read when I bought it - but the scene between Yata and Suda in the present was uncomfortable (to say the least) and definitely something to be condemned. Even though they try to downplay it and explain the mind process behind it, it was too much for me and my liking!
It is my first time with this kind of genre but yeah, that left a sour taste in my mouth - while the rest of the volume was very enjoyable

Nunca.
