Smart and witty, this legal thriller will take you for a ride through the courtroom, and leave you with twists and turns that you didn’t see coming.

Didn't want to leave a review before reading another book in this series. Author writes clean, no four letter words and sex. Dean Wilder is an attorney everybody wants on their side. If you're old enough to watch black and white Perry Mason shows, you'll like this series. Amazon should pick these books to make it into a good movies.
Easy and enjoyable legal action A great little legal thriller. I don't like short books but this one didn't suffer as some do from a lack of pages. You've no time to blink reading this book, it's non stop thrills and I never felt short changed. There's a tight plot, a defendant you can't help but love, corrupt cops, a mean prosecutor and best of all, a defence attorney with a conscience. The courtroom scene is enjoyable in the same way as the A Few Good Men movie was. I couldn't help but picture Nicholson and Cruise in each other's faces. With a respectable twist at the end I'm in no doubt to move on to book two.

As a fan of legal thriller, this one does not reinvent the genre but is very enticing. Short and cutting on what could be nice character evolution and procedurial knowledge, it is still a nice one.
Great story line about a trial of a innocent man for murder that has many twists and turns. It ends with a police detective being charged with the crime. He was trying to prove that the victim was responsible for his daughter's suicide and lost his temper causing the victims death
Patrick Graham delivered an astonishing novel. fantastic legal thrill ride. I never give spoiler reviews and don't read them either so here goes, the characters walked off the pages and I was right there with them. I can't wait to see the next case Dean Wilder takes. Happy reading. 📚
The story was fine but a little obvious. The author's expositive style was very simple and direct, with short declarative sentences, lots of repetition, and little subtlety.
I liked the story but it was a short read.. It was thorough, the characters were interesting and all the questions were answered. Very good plot twist at the end
Great characters and story I felt as if I was the courtroom watching the story unfold before my eyes ,never a dull moment a very interesting read and worthy of the 4 stars from me
My computer is having a hissy, but it won't accept any additional stars. I meant it to be 5 extra big stars. I loved the book, disregarded 15 things I should be doing, and just continue reading. The characters in the book were intensely interesting. I can't wait for the next book.
Characters you feel you would like to know but slightly caricatured. Defence attorney with a heart and deep sense of justice. A fast read but not overly taxing. Simple plot but well written.
