Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners; when we can’t do this we care for them until new owners can be found for them.
We’re one of just a few animal rescue centres that run a non-selective intake policy. This means we accept any breed of animal, at any age, including dogs or cats with serious medical and behavioural problems. Our expert team of dog trainers and veterinary staff give the animals in our care the best possible chance of a fresh start in a happy new home in the UK, or even further afield.
There is no time limit on how long an animal stays with us until the perfect new owners are found.
We work hard to educate the public about responsible pet ownership including microchipping, neutering and training. This includes educational talks and visits to schools and organisations, events, and publications.
Picked up the book on holiday at the hotel’s book exchange and thought it was be a nice easy read. Each chapter is a short story about a dog or cat’s adoption from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and how the pairing had an impact on the lives of both the animals and the owners. I give this 3 and a half stars.
This is the ultimate feel good read. All the stories are about animals that have been adopted from Battersea. Although all the animals have been saved in many instances the new owners have been saved by the animals.
Such a brilliant read hearing of all the dogs and cats who get a wonderful new home and following their stories. Such a heartwarming read and gives you happiness after heartbreak. Also loved battersea dogs home and to read stories from there is simply fantastic.
You have to love these heart warming stories from Battersea dogs and cats home. I’ve now read three of these books and they are all as good as each other!
A collection of feel good stories for cat and dog lovers. Spotted two typos in the book, which always irks me a bit. And whilst I enjoyed the dog centric stories, I wish the book had an even balance of stories, with more about cat adoptions, as they were definitely outnumbered by the dog ones.
