Axis Tie-in! Victor Von Doom has Loki sentenced to death for the crimes of his future self! But with the Red Skull drowning Doom, Latveria and the entire world in a wave of unstoppable telepathic hate, is there even a future left to save?
I kind of didn’t understand the whole plot because I miss the other comics but it’s fine. I just love to have this as a collectors item. Maybe someday I will get the other comics! I also got this comic from my best friend who bought it as a gift for me!
These two were fun just to watch Loki and Dr. Doom face off, but I did a bit of floundering because I'm not familiar with what's happening in the Doom/Fantastic Four story line. (Ummm, Valeria Richards? Yeah, I didn't even know she *existed*) The downside of these issues is that it was ANOTHER BLOODY TIE-IN. I LITERALLY JUST READ THE ENTIRETY OF ORIGINAL SIN TO KEEP UP WITH THE LOKI STORY LINE AND THEY THROW ANOTHER TIE-IN AT ME IN THE VERY NEXT ISSUE. This is annoying, okay?
No me provocó absolutamente nada.
The suspense was there as to how loki would escape his time prison thingy. I liked the addition of fantastic four but it did feel kinda out of nowhere tbh. Liked the plot so 3 stars.

Going to be honest here, I didn't really like this issue. I kind of felt like this was a Doom comic with a side appearance of Loki instead of the other way around. That was very dissapointing to me.
I feel that by tying in these issues to World War Hate and my not actually having read anything from that arc that I missed out on elements that would have made this issue make more sense but nonetheless, it was still an issue to be enjoyed. Doctor Doom visits the end of time on personal business and discovers what becomes of Earth and at whose hands this tragedy occurs, vowing to prevent this when he returns to the present day. Present day Loki ends up teleported into Doom's domain and, in the course of a duel, finds himself trapped in a bubble of frozen time with no hope of escape. I enjoyed the development Verity saw with Loki's Amulet of Invisibility but if I get around to reading the tie-in, I'll have to come back and reread.
This story does "tie in" with the "World War Hate" event and boy does it suffer for it. Not only does this "Loki is destined to be a villain" shows once again how little the Asgardian gods of Marvel have in common with their "real" counterparts but the story got really dumb now. Loki is a trickster, and tricksters tend to be literally beyond god and evil. Apparently this woman here does not know the difference between lying and not saying the truth. And once the event goes in full swing, the idiocies just pile up: the doombots cannot guess why the people are fighting, I mean it's not as if stuff like this hasn't happened before in the Marvel universe... oh wait, it has, several times probably. And it really takes some time for the others to figure out that telepathy is involved. Plus here we have the burden of knowledge again: That woman says that she doesn't believe that the future is set... of course it isn't since Marvel had God knows how many stories that proof that. Also apparently Verity and Loki are not affected at all because he has the sword of truth and she can see through the lies and when you know the truth you cannot hate someone? What idiot wrote this? They ended this with a "who?" by both Doom and Loki when Magneto introduces himself? Did the writers do that because readers would not have picked up already that it would be Magneto? I think the destroyed doombots from before would have made it clear already, since writers would not introduce Polaris that way. But whatever, this was not a good story.
This isn't about Loki, this was all about Verity, giving her time to shine and although she does shine I wish there was more to her to make you like her more as a character. Like perhaps a little bit of background on her ability to see through lies, when she discovered it? It could be that this will be shown later on, and given that this is an Axis tie in, perhaps the writer didn't want too much crowding around in this issue.
Loki is little in this issue because of what happened in the last. If anything this comic was Verity and Doom, Verity trying to free Loki and Doom realising that his country was fighting against itself.
It's not the strongest and the art... I am just not fond of the art.
I will enjoy it again when the original writer and artist return.
