James is in for a surprise too though, because Harper's never done this before. She's just as innocent as the character she's portraying! With that realization, he becomes determined to claim her, through whatever means necessary. And what better way than getting her pregnant?

Fantastic, as a couple of actors prepare for a sex scene, their urges are overwhelming and with the entire stage crew looking on, the couple have hot sex right before their eyes. It was no acting and they have orgasms that were realiatic, because they were. She was a virgin and was unprotected. In a HEA, she gets pregnant and they are married and after five years, they are still going strong

Harper is an actress who rose to fame as a child, so she accepted a role about a student who bangs her teacher so that she wouldn’t be typecast.

This is very fast paced in the sense that were dropped in right before they film the sex scene. There’s no oreambke, no getting to know the characters and their dynamic or chemistry leading up to this point. Although we are told that they have prank wars going on (holy inappropriate pranks though Batman) the last of which is James leaving her a dildo in her trailer for her to use before the scene. But it’s a joke so it’s fine hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaha so funny.

Anywho, Harper’s idea of a return prank is somehow even more taboo, in that she decides to actually suck him off under the covers during filming. HAHA HARPER, YOU ARE HILARIOUS!

So whilst this was marketed to me as an accidental dicking, there ain’t nothing accidental about it. This right here was second degree dicking - not premeditated, but definitely intentional.

Aaaanywho, it was kinda hot, but ridiculous that they thought the crew wouldn’t notice. Also she’s 18 and he’s twice her age, so 36…but he’s already completely gray/silver. Now I know some dudes do start greying young (looking atchu, husband) but I hate when this is mentioned to emphasise an age gap when the guy isn’t actually old.

And the reason I struggle with short stories is because the ending is always rushed and tied up in a neat little unrealistic bow.

The most realistic thing about it was Harper’s overthinking after the fact.

However for a short, dirty story, this should hit the spot.

I genuinely do not understand the hype around **Harper’s Unexpected First Time**. Yes, it’s spicy — but that’s about all it has going for it.

The editing was rough to the point of distraction, and several scenes were confusing because the physical logistics just did not make sense. Instead of being immersive, it kept pulling me out of the story, and I kept rereading passages to figure out what was even happening.

I only picked this up because of a TikTok that absolutely raved about it, and I regret trusting the algorithm on this one. Spice alone does not make a good novella, and without tighter editing or clearer writing, this just fell flat for me.

Easy skip.

Unexpected

Age gap, unexpected romance and very steamy. I think my iPad is smoking. Short read that got to the point pretty quickly but ended with an HEA. I liked the fact that the story had a conclusion & I got to see where the couple was headed. It wasn't just a wham, bam thank you ma'am with a drop off that left you wondering. Good erotic read.

This book is incredible, I loved reading every single page. I must say though both Harper and James are very in tuned with their bodies. How fortunate that they both desire each other, but not sure each other knows til after a live filming. This is one dream/ wish that has indeed come true.
