pINK #2

Eight: A pINK Novel

Rate this book
Eight seconds at a time. That’s how you beat the bull. Survive the ride. Win.

Eight seconds at a time.

It’s been drilled into me for as long as I can remember. To help me focus. Manage my fear. Stay in control.

Eight seconds at a time.

I can do anything eight seconds at a time.

Even get over her.

Riot.

When she disappeared, it was all I could think to do. Keep breathing. Keep moving. Keep living.

Eight seconds at a time.

Until eight seconds turned to eight minutes. Eight hours. Eight days. Eight weeks. Eight months.

And finally, eight years.

Only now she’s back.

And I know the only way I’m getting through this, is eight seconds at a time.

Dog Lover who likes her pastries full of cream and sugar...oh...and I write some ;-)

Aside from being an author, I am also a mom to a beautiful little girl. I tell everyone I named her after my great-grandmother (because that's the mature answer), but really, I named her after my favorite princess - just so happens I got lucky and they had the same name...If I wasn't a writer, I would work on a horse ranch - I'm an animal lover (in addition to dogs, horses are at the top of my list). I wear flip-flops pretty much everywhere I go. I would rather stay awake until 5 am than get up at 5 am (years of bar tending have left their mark), if I can, I'm going to the beach AND I will always be nice to people who bring me chocolate...or coffee...if you bring me both, I'll probably love you forever.

I write the way I live, following the story wherever it may lead, always ready to start the next one. This is clearly reflected in my body of work which to date includes everything from Children's Lit to Thrillers.
I happily reside in sunny Florida (for now) with my daughter and three dogs.

Eight is part of the PINK novels, it can be read as a stand alone BUT I would recommend reading the others first (or at least Eleven). I really fell for Memphis in his novella, Eleven and we nee him again in Nine and finally his book Eight. My heart broke for him and as much as I liked Riot I hated her for what she did. Thus making it hard to really enjoy her for a long time when reading Eight. Memphis is just so sweet and you can't help but love him. The storyline was sweet but heartbreaking at times. I feel Memphis should have put up a bigger fight but she is his Riot. When reading a PINK novel you don't just get the two main characters, you are getting all of these supporting characters that do a wonderful job supporting and you have to hope and wait for their book so you can get more.

Cue the angst in this emotional read. There is a book before this in the series. I personally did not read it but wish I did as I wanted the background.
With that said it is easily a stand alone.
The question of what to do when someone you thought was forever ghosts you.
When you pick up the broken pieces and try to find a new normal and happiness that heartbreak (Riot; appropriately named) comes in and shakes those pieces right up.
I am impressed with this authors ability to tell a story and enjoyed this read.

Amazing story

Eight is the second book in the A pINK series and it can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend you read the Nine first. This author never disappoints, or at least has not for me so far, and I really enjoy her writing and story-telling. This story is a wonderful mix of interesting characters, depth of emotion, secrets, betrayal, forgiveness and love which results in a sweet,. heartbreaking but also amazing story. This is another RECOMMEND READ!

A great pink novel

Started reading, realised there was a pre-quel. So glad I stopped and read that first. This is the epitome of love estrangement, soul slicing hurt that only love can bring when two hearts that beat as one are broken apart. Memphis, Riot and an amazing love story. Perfection, as 'Drive' is my all time favourite book by this author, I didn't expect anything less.

an angry mom steers young love and romance on a rough road, away from what seems like destiny

Can they find their way past all the omissions, fears, and missed chances?

Intense drama and romance - with lots of scary bits and emotional bits

You cannot go wrong with this author. I loved the first person point of view of the story. This is always a deal breaker for me. It was a very emotional read, that can be read as a stand alone, however I strongly suggest the others as well.

This book is part of the Pink series and although it can be read as a standalone it is best to read them in order as things happen in previous books that relate to this one.

Memphis Turner is finally ready to move on with his life after Riot left him 8 years ago. He is ready to propose to his girlfriend Juli when his past comes screaming back at him.

Riot is back after 8 years with no one hearing anything from her. But she comes back with secrets about why she left and why she hasn't come back until now.

Will Memphis find it in his heart to forgive Riot or are the secrets she kept too big for him to get over?

Wow - absolutely loved this book!!

Due to the background I had opinions about both Memphis and Riot. I was so mad at Riot for leaving Memphis all those years ago without a word. Although I understood some of the reasons I was still definitely in shock that she could walk away without telling him or her sister goodbye.

I think Memphis knew his heart would never get over Riot but was slowly trying to move on with Juli. Yet he also knew once Riot came back that he had to deal with his feelings for her before turning to Juli. He was definitely a really good guy and I really felt bad for him with everything that was kept from him.

So I was definitely mad at Riot and even though I began to like her I was still mad at her especially when I found out more! I was glad that she included Memphis in her life while she was gone at that made me happier with her.

I love this series so much and I can't wait to read what happens next!!

Wow!!! Another great book by K.S. She's amazing. Eight seconds is the number he lives by. His profession , heartbreak and anything else. That number was drilled in his head at a young age So he uses it a lot.
