The book delivers on exactly what it says on the cover and more. I would say it's for any entrepreneur but we're all busy so, yeah it's for busy entrepreneurs that need a solid blueprint for getting started and building momentum fast.

I loved the case studies and was able to relate to quite a few of the stories in the book. They help to demonstrate some of the ideas so the finance and managerial side don't seem academic like you get in a lot of books. An excellent resource for business owners or anyone looking to start their own business.

It's more than a finance book but does a great job of laying out business finance in a way everyone can grasp.

Not sure what you don't know?

I usually don't leave reviews but Sylvia book has been a complete godsend (tho I'm not religious at all). I have a friend helping out with finance and she has an accounting degree, but not everyone is blessed and may be doing it alone even if we're never really alone. Heck even reading through this... made me realize this is what I wish my friend had told me.

But Sylvia's book was amazing at sitting me down, talking me through the basics and telling me exactly what I needed to know that I didn't know. Yes its overwhelming in the sense of omg I didn't think of that, oh yeah this makes sense, and ahhhh so that's how I can start being successful. She delivers this info concisely, compassionately with amazing examples and templates.

Honestly this is a must read, I read it on my kindle free account but definitely purchasing this on its own due to the value added. This book as saved me so much time in googling, tunnel holing into who knows what else, the value of this book is 10x its weight in information.

For those budding entrepreneurs who don't know anything about finances but have a nagging feeling you should be doing more, I urge you to start with this book. You won't regret it.

Helps you build a strong framework

This books helps you build a strong framework...it says so in the book and the author delivers.

I knew quiet a few things already but then there was some aspects I didn't think of- like getting the system set up first rather than doing it as you go. The author is right- my error on planning to do it later ended up not getting whatever it was in terms of clarifying the process or implementing a system.

This is a great book for newbies to keep as a reference guide as they go and to share.

A Small Business owner MUST READ!!

I would first like to thank the author for taking the time to write such a very informative book. I wish that I would've found this book sooner. But as they say we live and we learn to do better. This is a must read for any entrepreneur striving for success in their business.

It is great to have all of this information in 1 location. Some things I've know by working on my own business, other things I'm greatful to have learned by reading this book. I love how straight to the point this book was. I didn't have to sift through a lot of back story to get the lesson. Looking forward to reading more books from this Author!

Good book!
Give all basics of finance for a beginner and gave me some ideas on managing them. But it is more for business in the US because of the Tax process and all related paper work.

My small business in real estate has survived and thrived for 14 years using many of the business principles and practical insights Sylvia Inks shares in Small Business Finance for the Busy Entrepreneur. Unfortunately, I learned my lessons the EXPENSIVE way through the school of hard knocks! I could have paid 10x the cost of this book and still considered it a bargain to get these lessons up front.

The author did an excellent job of outlining this book to make it practical and useful for any small business owner. Much like the blueprint for a house, she takes you step by step through the components of a financially well-run business. From business budgeting tools, to cash management, to getting paid on time by customers, it's all covered. I particularly like that she does not assume any question or topic is too small. The book even covers details like how to pay yourself at payroll as the owner of the business. Don't get that wrong!

If you're a small business owner, I highly recommend that you make an investment of time and money to read this book. Your bank account and your peace of mind will thank you.

In Small Business Finance for the Busy Entrepreneur, Sylvia Inks is your friendly guide and mentor as she helps you get your financial house in order BEFORE you build and grow your small business. And even if you’ve been in business a while and still haven’t separated your personal and business expenses (which Sylvia emphasizes throughout the book!) don’t despair—you can still clean up your financial house and get on the right track so you don’t find yourself drowning in debt and worry. The chapters ranging from travel reimbursement to clipping extra monthly expenses contain lessons you can use today, as well as anecdotes and worksheets/templates. I really appreciate how Sylvia shared her own lessons and mistakes with her readers—this only emphasizes her tremendous knowledge base and subject matter expertise. After reading her book, I immediately zeroed in on an extra monthly expense in my newsletter marketing and switched subscribers. Even if you think you know everything about P&L statements and the difference between an S-Corp and an LLC, get this book today to expand your knowledge and your financial know-how.

Small Business Finance for the Busy Entrepreneur came into my life at just the right time. I started my own business three years ago, and have yet to make a profit. Sylvia Inks’ blueprint for building a solid, profitable business is laid out in a logical manner. It is easy to navigate and to select the chapters that are most relevant and timely. After reading this book I was thrilled to know I was already doing some money management tasks correctly (like separating my business and personal finances)! I quickly learned I have a lot of room for improvement, however. In her book, Inks gives case studies that help me see I’m not alone, useful tips to keep me focused, and templates to organize my financial information. With the guidance in this book, I am confident I can not only become profitable, but also sustain that success once I get there. I highly recommend this book to any entrepreneur like me who wants to become profitable but never knew the financial basics to get there.

As someone who considers herself financially-savvy, starting my business after leaving corporate was still an eye-opener. If I had read Sylvia's book, I would have saved even more money and a lot of time figuring out how best to organize and manage the financial side of my business. This book is a very valuable investment. It's easy to read and can be picked up again and again. Many finance books can be overwhelming if you are starting from ground zero or are a financial mess. With Sylvia's book, you can take simple steps in a way that makes sense, without being scary.
It's never too late to get started on the right financial path for business success. I purchased this for ten friends and clients because I believe in the value of the message.

As an attorney, real estate investor & entrepreneur, I have faced/face many of the the challenges laid out in this book. I used to think that I was the "only one" who faced these struggles, but after reading this book I realize that these struggles are common among many entrepreneurs & small business owners. Most importantly, and thanks to this book, I learned that there are easy to apply solutions to these problems that will help my business run smoother than ever. I only wish that this book was published years ago as it would have helped me to avoid many mistakes. I highly recommend this book as it is a must-read for all entrepreneurs.

Small Business Finance for the Busy Entrepreneur is resourceful and extremely actionable with checklists, templates, and lists of next steps to take. A pragmatic guide, it teaches you to ask the right questions to figure out what is needed for your business. It's everything I never would've known I needed--all in one spot. This is a must read for anyone just starting out in their business or wanting to gain a handle on their finances. I'm so thankful to Sylvia Inks for the countless hours in research and frustration that I can avoid trying to figure everything out on my own. The wealth of knowledge in this guide is priceless. I know I'll be coming back to this book over and over again.

Most small business owners (even those of us from corporate backgrounds who are exposed to financials) start a business because we want to help others and have a big dream. Little do we realize that not only understanding but managing our numbers closely to make informed decisions are critical to success. This book sheds light not only on why this is important but how we can do it in an easy-to-understand language and approach.

The author's ability to explain what are considered complex concepts is both refreshing and illuminating. This book is a must read for all start ups and those who are not sure where to start with getting their arms around their business financials.
