This book about cattle mutilations in Montana in the 70s has been on my shelf for some time, but I'd only read bits and pieces of it until now. At one time I had intended to take it on an airplane, but when I saw the color photographs of the mutilated cattle, I decided my row-mates would probably think I was a psychopath. Honestly I was a little creeped-out by it.

Anyway, I finally read it through, and wow -- what an interesting story! Fascinating to read how Captain Wolverton of the sheriff's department was apparently given free rein to investigate the flurry of cattle mutilations in whatever way he saw fit. What a ride he went on, encompassing convicts, cults, UFOs, bigfoot, and strange helicopter sightings. Is the mystery solved? Heck no, but it sure was fun reading about it.

I'm a skeptic, but there was something odd going on in this area, in this era. This book does a good job of not giving too many opinions about the happenings, and just laying out the facts.

Excellent and creepy book, very easy to read, and groundbreaking in terms of the cattle mutilation, big foot and interference on nuclear bases, also unmarked black helicopters. If you are a researcher get this book, it is great.

The writing was a little redundant and tedious with the same exact sentences existing chapters apart. Otherwise an interesting read.
