Aeron first saw his mate on the battlefield. Jericho is a hunter, and after he was wounded, Dominic decided to keep him close inside the mansion’s infirmary. Aeron has been visiting him during the night because he’s not ready to talk to him just yet, but he knows things need to change, and fast. Jericho thought he was going to be tortured and killed when he woke up in the shifters’ infirmary, but instead, they healed him and talked to him as if he hadn’t tried to kill them. Dominic Nash wants answers, and Jericho knows he can’t keep quiet forever, especially after finding out he’s the mate of one of the mansion’s inhabitants. Most pride members don’t trust Jericho. He understands it, but he still wants to help since they were able to change his mind about shifters. He knows going back to Brad and the hunters might get him killed, but he needs to do it, both for Brad and for Aeron. Will he be able to stop Brad from attacking the pride again? And if he doesn’t, what will happen to the pride, and to him and Aeron as a couple?
Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters. She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back. She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.
This was book 25 in the "Whitedell Pride" series and the last book of the series. Aeron is half-Nix half-Wolf when the pride was attacked in the last book he met his mate during the battle. Jericho was wounded when he and the other hunters attacked the pride after suffering a head injury he realizes that the pride is not as bad as Brad the leader of the hunter told him and when he finds out that Aeron is his mate he knows that he needs to stop him from attacking the pride again after Dominic tells him that Brad is a wolf-shifter. When he confronted him he realizes that Brad is crazy and is going to kill him. Aeron is attacked along with one of the pride members he knows he needs to go and get his mate. This was a really good read and kind of bittersweet I loved this series this book was well written like the rest of the books in this series. I am looking forward to reading the next series by this author.
It's the FINAL story! I can't believe it! I have been reading this series since it started and have just loved getting to know these characters and couples in the Whitedell Pride. Some stories I may have loved a bit more than others, but overall I think that this is a very strong series for shifter romance.
And this one ended the series with a bang - we got a shifter whose mate is one of the hunters, and it really brings a close to everything that they have been dealing with for so many books. I love how it all went down and am glad that everyone made it out okay!
I think what I love most about this series is the feeling of family and how everyone cares for everyone else. I love Keenan and Nysys and their recent prank wars, and Troy, and Oliver. So many great characters!
I look forward to getting to see more of this world through Gillham and the new series she'll be working on! I gotta keep getting my Keenan and Nysys fix somehow!
So.... this was the last book in this series.... And it felt like it sort of just chopped off at the end. No big resolution of the overall story arch. And we still have Gillham and the new series about the council enforcers.... But I guess Gillham’s story arch has veered off and now deals mostly with the fake council...
I liked Aeron and Jericho. I just think everything was a bit too smooth. And as the finale of the series this was soooooo .... unsatisfactory.
I'm sad to see this series end but Catherine did a great job giving it closure no cliffhanger ending and if she would decide to write more the story could go on. Hint hint.
