Every small town has that one family that's more savage than civilized. The ones that are more myth and legend than man. In Old Settlers, Oklahoma that's the Bomar boys. Wild, reckless and vicious, they skirt the line of criminal and trip over it more often than not. They are their own punchline: white trash but proud beyond compare. Dirty and dangerously sexy, it's best to steer clear of them or else risk your life... and your heart. These are their stories.
Colt Bomar is a bastard. A dirty, violent piece of white trash, he makes no apologies for who and what he is. He's never cared what anyone thinks of him and he cares even less about trying to be a better kind of man... until her.
She's everything he's not. Good, sweet, gentle, she's an angel that brightens his dark existence. But he's seen the kind of destruction a man like him can wreak and he intends to protect her from that, from him, if it's the only good thing he ever does.
Skylar Holland is no angel. Angels don't lust after the bad-tempered boy next door when they're involved with another man. They don't dream about having the rough hands and sinful mouth of a guy that snaps and snarls at them all over their body. And that's what she's wanted from Colt since the moment the troubled Bomar boy said they were nothing but friends.
Friends? With a man that makes her blood boil and her heart melt? No, she wants more. She wants everything. And she's not about to apologize for going after what she knows they both want. Forever.
Can he overcome his past to give her the future he knows she deserves? or is he doomed to repeat the sins of his father by dragging her down into the darkness with him? And if she treads into the shadows to win him will she even still be the woman he wants when they come out the other side?
*No Apologies is the second book in the Bomar Boys series but can be read as a stand-alone. Each book features one couple and a HEA but do build on each other so they are best read in order.
**Warning** This book contains explicit language, sexual scenes and violence. Though not depicted, mentions of abuse are key to the storyline and can be a trigger for some.

It's official - I'm moving to Old Settlers & snagging me a Bomar boy. (Kinda got my eye on Linc or Ford - they are twins after all... wink-wink!)
Could this group of "bad boy" thieves & thugs be any hotter?!?! And let me tell you - if you're thinking that they're all manly sex Gods without any substance, you couldn't be more wrong.
I loved every word of Colt & Skylar's story.
Skylar is one of my favourite book heroine types - she's strong, sassy, smart & is not going to back down from getting what she wants - and she wants Colt Bomar. You go get him girl!
Colt is complex, damaged & how he's a functioning adult having made it through his childhood is a real testament to just how strong these Bomar boys are. He's mercurial, secretive, protective & this big bad Bomar is about to be bulldozed by a small blonde angel who's not as innocent as she appears.
Their story is well written & full of emotion. It's compellingly in its plot & takes us deeper into the world of the Bomar boys, introducing us further to a few more of them and revealing some of the secrets of a few others.
I can't even. I physically felt this book. Loved it for several reasons:
(1) I love books written in third person. First person dual point of view is not really my favorite and that's like every romance novel lately. Nothing against it. I just personally prefer third person. (2) I love it when one of the main characters is already involved in a relationship and they're conflicted (but they don't cheat). (3) I love delicious tension when one character is trying so hard to keep from falling in love. When they ultimately give in, I completely swoon. I just love when a man is so reluctant to love but then easily falls. (4) I love bad boys. So much. (5) I love books with tattoos and cock piercings. Whew. Uh oh. Was that a spoiler?
This book basically ticked all my boxes. I loved it. 5 stars. Fab storyline, super great set up for the rest of the series. Just loved it.
I really can't wait for Remy's book and OH LORD I'm gonna need me some Ford. A cut, bearded, ex-con? Sign me up! New book boyfriend alert!
Wow! What a wild ride!! I don't know what else I would have expected from the Bomar's, haha, but still wild none the less.
Loved reading about Colt and Skylar's love story. It was a bit of a slow burn, Skylar has to work very hard to peel back Colt's layers but once they finally get there it's hot and heavy.
I honestly thought this story might have a bit of a different turn considering Skylar's past issues with her heart, but it didn't go there which was fine just surprised me really! Really enjoyed all the trouble Colt was in and how Sky stood by her man through it all. Even with a bit of tough love.
Also loved the bond between the brothers and even the cousins in a round about way. I'd say more but I don't really want to spoil this one. So many things come to light that explain so much about some of the Bomar's!
Well written, hot and also sweet love story, angsty without being over the top, small town wrong side of the tracks drama at its finest! That's this book, read it!

Really good story about Colt and Skylar. I especially liked how strong she was and not in just a bratty way that some supposedly strong heroines are. She knew what she wanted and went after it. She wasn’t afraid to protect Colt just as much as he protected her. There was a little too much reiteration of things covered in the first book. Also, I did have to laugh that all of these people are having their significant other’s name tattooed on them. Tattooing names is one of the dumbest things ever. It might seem romantic at the time, but you’re stuck with it for life. However, I was quite intrigued by that piercing of Colt’s! (Wink) Still, this was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to reading Remy’s story tomorrow.
This is the second book in the Bomar Boys Series and although it can be read as a stand-alone it is better to have read book one "No Regrets" first to understand a lot of the back story.
I love Colt and his persona. He is another tough Bomar boy who wants to live a life outside of what his family is known for but he seems to be stuck. He is stubborn and cares so much for Skylar but really doesn't want her close to everything that is going down and wants to protect her at all costs.
Skylar is awesome and I love how she is also stubborn but such a caring person who wants Colt. She is tired of being pushed away and decides to fight for what she wants. I was sad that we didn't get as much interaction between her and Jemma in this book. Their friendship was so good in book one.
I loved the real introduction to Remy in this book and my heart completely broke for what he went through as a child. I knew he wouldn't leave without a good reason. I can't wait to read more about him.
I'm also super curious to see if the author will also write about the cousins, like Lincoln. I'd love to read a book on him as right now we don't view him in a real good light although I was starting to warm up to him a little at the end of this one!
After reading book one (Cash's story) I had to read Colt's!
Colt's is trying so hard to rise above and beyond his family's name - but the world doesn't make it easy for him. Skylar is just trying to live life beyond her family's over protectiveness. These two have had eyes for each other for awhile, but have never stepped beyond the hard worn friendship line. Can these two find a happily ever after.
I loved the story, but found it to have a bit too repeating inner dialogues for me. I am looking forward to Remy's book.
was sucked into this world of the Bomar boys. the book became even more interesting towards the end with the mystery and introduction of new characters. I hope there's other books out there, maybe for Lincoln, perhaps? can't wait to read the one about their brother Remy. really enjoyed this book! steamy scenes, bad boy, and some drama.
The Bomar boys, I just cannot get enough of them. If you haven't met them yet, what are you waiting for? No Regrets, Cash & Gemma's story was great, but Colt & Skylar in No Apologies are my favorite so far.
That first paragraph will hook me every time. The Bomar boys all have a horrible reputation. Their lives started out with a harsh father from day one and didn't get any better as they were growing up. The boys all seemed doomed to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, that is unless they can find a reason to be better,
Colt's wanted that from the beginning. He's so protective of everyone he loves, he's taken the world on his shoulders to get Cash and himself out of the hell they knew and give them a shot at a legitimate, legal life. But someone isn't content to sit back and let that happen. The deal Colt made may be his downfall.
Skylar is the sweet girl next door. Well sweet is debatable, she's lusting after Colt even though she has a boyfriend. But Colt's made it clear their just friends, he doesn't want to hurt her so he'll deny any attaction. She on the other hand isn't as easily accepting of the fact that she can't get him out of her head and wants him. Badly. And while things are going downhill in Colts life, some truths about his family come to light. He finds out the real reason his brother Remington disappeared years ago.
Skylar isn't the wilting wallflower thank goodness, yes she's feminine, yes she lets her man take care of things, to an extent. She's not one to sit back an allow those she loves to get hurt anymore than he is and this causes them to butt heads more than once. I love a strong heroine and we get that in Skylar, as well as a sexy, alpha protector in Colt.
As much as I was ready to beg for this book after reading book one, it's nothing compared to the need I have for the next story. I am so pumped to get Remy's story now!!
I cannot get enough of these Bomar boys and their sexy alpha male ways. No apologies is the second book in the series and should be read after No regrets because readers have more of an understanding of the characters and the story. I absolutely loved Skylar and Colt within No Apologies because it had everything I love in a story. There was tension between the characters, sexy tattooed alpha male, hot steamy moments and characters that I love reading about.
Skylar is a strong and feisty character that doesn’t let others tell her what to do. I enjoy the way that she stands up to others and the way that she doesn’t believe the stories that people say about the Bomars. I really enjoy a strong heroine in a story and Skylar is definitely a strong heroine with the way that she takes charge and helps Colt when he needs it the most.
I didn’t think I could enjoy the Bomar anymore then I did in No Regrets, but I was proven wrong in this story because I enjoyed Colt even more. Colt believed that he wasn’t good enough to be with Skylar because of the things that people had said about him. My heart broke for him so many times with the way that he didn’t think he deserved someone like Skylar and the reasons why he felt like this. But Colt was a caring character that did whatever he could to protect the ones he loved. I absolutely loved Colt.
No apologies is about Colt Bomar who has always had thing for the feisty shop owner next to his shop. However Colt feels that he isn’t good enough for her after being told all his life that he is nobody. But Skylar will do whatever she has to do to prove him wrong.
Overall, I loved this story because of the way that it continued on to tell the story of the Bomar family and I was able to get a lot of answers to the questions I had after reading the first story in the series. Jess Bryant has a way of writing about lovable sexy alpha males and strong female characters.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. For a second book recommended to be read after the first I think a lot of time, too much, was spent recapping and going over things which have already been covered in book one. I also felt it was a little slow and leaves a lot unresolved, presumably for book three which is going to have some serious fireworks. That being said I really do like the sense of family, even if unconventional, with the Bomars and am glad some of them are finding their way. A little disappointing though. Reviewed for 2rsblog.blogspot.com
tattoo god thats what colt bomar is , hes my favourite of the brothers and cousins. he's demanding, crude, sexy.hes everything us girls want in badboy tattoo god. but colt isn't really bad he just has a big heart and doesn't really know.how yo.deal with love from.other people. so when skylar walks into his life he cant help himself but to push her away. Lucky for him he has met his perfect match. colt just doesn't know it .
Ok this is the second book and even though it can be read as a standalone I would recommend you read the first book first. In this one we get to know Colt Bomar a lot better and he's the other twin, and I swear I don't know which twin I want more. Colt is the protective twin always jumping in front of his brother to take the worst hits. Always trying to make sure he stays far away from the dirty side of the Bomar name. And he's trying to he's not clean but he's not dirty. But he doesn't think he's good enough for the girl od his dreams. Skylar didn’t realize that while she was building a friendship with Colt that she was also finally realizing that she had always loved him. But he kept pushing her away. Reading book two felt like I come back home from a trip and let me tell you I wish I could move there, I need me a Bomar boy!!!! The story really does pull you in and you become a part of it. The characters are so well developed you know there backstory and how they feel. You get both pov's and I love books like that. I definitely recommend this book!
Colt and Skylar are amazingly sexy, and just right together!
From the beginning Skylar and Colt both know what they want, but the ability to get what they want doesn't look good for either of them.
Skylar's too stubborn, and won't give Colt a break until he apologizes. Colt only knows that nobody ever meant it when they apologized when he was a boy, so he isn't going to waste time giving her what she wants.
When they finally get together, Colt and Skylar's connection is pure fireworks. Colt mistakenly believes that if he's rough, and domineering with her, Skylar will give up on him. Skylar knows without a doubt, Colt's dominating, wild manner is what she's needed all her life.
After all this time, will Colt's angel be able to drag him out of the hell that is his family? Or will his worst fears come true, and Skylar will be smothered in his personal, hellish nightmare?
An excellent storyline that will make you fall in love with the worst bad boys ever, and enjoy every minute of it!
I will make no apologies for reading the next book in the Bomar Boys Series because Colt stole my heart. As this man who has lived his life as a protector drags you on a journey of darkness that surrounds him, it will be his best friend, his angel and his one that will need to lift him into the light. Skylar needs Colt to see himself in the light that she does and he is going to need to bring his A game to this fight, because this girl is about to burst through the barriers he has put up. A story that will break your heart and mend it all in one go. This gorgeous, broody, tattooed, alpha will be brought to his knees by this sassy, strong woman who will show him that he is worth loving. If you like your romances full of angst, chaos, mayhem and seriously passionate this is the one for you.
Okay I loved Cash and Jemma’s story but Colt and Skylar blew them away! Also I need to know more about Ford because he sounded yummy. The more I learn about the Bomars the more I get sucked into their story. Again we have a strong female character who doesn’t need to be saved and can hold her own against these boys. Colt needs to know that he isn’t worthless and Skylar proves that to him. The passion is off the charts and I loved it! We got to see more family members and I hope they each get their chance because I have so many questions! Bring on Remy!!!
Wow! I'm definitely a fan of Jess Bryant and her Him at brothers!! Holy hotness it was freaking amazing!! Sky is such a strong woman and believes she's doing the right thing by fighting for what she wants! Colt is the brooding dark horse that takes care of everyone. They are perfect for each other, and every scene they are together they are combustible!! It was seriously hot! I loved the first time together... I absolutely loved it!! Ready to know who's after Colt... The ending was perfect... Loved it!!
Seriously where can I get a Bomar Boy? Book Two in this series was AMAZING! Skylar & Colt were electric. Skylar was so perfect with just the right amount of sass and sweet and is definitely one of my favorite book heroines. Colt is fierce, protective, stubborn, a bit damaged but so so swoon worthy you will root for these two as you go on this wild ride with them.
I feel like I can't find the right words to describe how much I enjoyed this book..Seriously, I couldn't put it down. I hope you read No Apoligies & the Bomar Boys series and that you enjoy it as much as I did. 💋
I loved this book! It is the second in the Bomar Boys series by Jess Bryant and focuses on Colt and Skylar but many of the Bomar family are here. Colt Bomar is damaged from his upbringing but he wants to be better. This book filled me with hope. It made me cry and hurt for these boys and the strong women that love them, but it made me feel hope because if they can overcome their childhood, I certainly can. "She loved him. She loved every beautiful, broken, damaged part of him." From No Apologies by Jess Bryant
Really liked the characters, especially how you could really see the differences between Cash and Colt more emphasised in this book through Colt’s and Skylar’s POVs. I definitely want to read the third book now, no fear, about remy, although not as ready to forgive him at this point as I think the author wanted the readers to be. All the Bomar boys are very intriguing, except for Abel, who is very easy to dislike. I found Lincoln especially, influenced by Skylar and Colt, to have more going on beneath the surface- would read a book based on him.
Colt is a character that grabbed me from the beginning and sucked me dry with his inner demons. Just when I thought Cash was complex, he comes along and gives him a run for his money. The emotions pouring out of him with his story left me absolutely adoring him and hoping that Skylar helps him see all the light that shines within him. A fantastic book with amazing characters that will certainly stay with me for a long time.
Oh, those Bomar Boys!! What gorgeous "bad" boys they are. Colt and Skylar were my kind of angst driven story, so much love and passion, I just fell in love. Definitely my fave of the series so far.
BUT! next is REMY! their older brother who has intrigued me with his bad boy mysterious self. I'm ready for him to woo my eyes off.
I couldn't wait to pick up Colt's story after reading Cash's!! And I was not dissapointed! I loved Colt and Skylar's romance, a slow burn that got where it was going when it damn well wanted to! And when it did, whew! I liked the twists and turns, and again, the depth of character that Jess writes is refreshing! More please, Ms. Bryant!
No Apologies is Book 2 of the Bomar Boys series and tells Colt and Skylar’s story. I really liked this book!! Colt was smoking hot and Skylar was a great combo of sweet & strong. The slow burn tension that builds throughout the story is fantastic and when they finally come together... fireworks! The book is worth reading for the last tattoo scene alone. ;)
Ok, I don’t see the bad boy anywhere, for me, this is the perfect definition of a romance book! He is the most amazing and romantic man ever and she is simply perfect for him. the sex scenes are the most ROMANTIC and hot ever and really good, I didn’t read any other book of the author and I don’t know how I ended read it but if you want a good and loving love story, this is it!!!
Book 2 about the Bomar boys did not disappoint. I love this town and the characters. Beautiful damaged. I went thru this story way to fast I wasn’t ready for it to end.
