Imagine a world where ghosts follow you everywhere you go and watch every breath you take. Now, imagine falling asleep. Ghosts have been a part of Joni Mayhan's life since she was a child. She was born with a gift, one that separates her from normal people and makes her a target in the spirit world. After surviving the Soul Collector, she thought the worst was behind her, but it was only the beginning. True terrifying paranormal stories, complete with photos and EVPs
Having metaphysical abilities myself, I, like Joni, struggled to understand them. So, what did I do? Being born into a family of skeptics, I was forced to keep my mediumistic gifts from them as I was reprimanded by my father when I told my parents that I could see spirits. Also, I researched my abilities when the opportunity presented itself. Joni's experiences not only serve to entertain but also to show you are not alone or crazy. Do you need to be involved in the paranormal field to have an encounter? The answer is no. I had similar paranormal experiences, and the list is expanding. I am a ghost magnet. I enjoyed reading Ms. Mayhan's book. This was my second one by her. Keep up the good work.
Although well written and with a lot of promises, I was disappointed. I have read most of Hanz Holzer books and was hoping for more interaction with the spirits, some explanations of why they are haunting. Instead we only got a word here or there caught on the fly that explains nothing about the anguish of the spirit. Sometimes we wonder if the psyche of the author and her moods are not coloring her experiences. I also thought that ghosts are stuck in one spot from which they can’t separate and relive traumas, so them following you around makes no sense unless they are free spirits and not ghosts. I wish that trance mediums would be used to communicate instead of these machines. They bring nothing but confusion and more questions about what is going on.
This chick is a fool. With no skills to protect herself and few skills she intentionally puts herself into dangerous situations then whines about the consequences until someone else is forced to save her. She learns few lessons from her past stupid choices which lead to history repeating itself. And not in a good way. I can't respect that. I do respect the friends who continually came to her rescue but I wonder if a "tough love" conversation from them to her might have helped rather than the constant enabling I was reading about. She's like a child who can't figure out what "hot" means and who continues to run to the stove to play with the burners.
Something different...do you believe in the paranormal? Ghosts? Demons? Things that go bump in the night? Do I? Yes and no...sometimes something can seem real with no explanation..other times you pick up on what's wrong to start with. This is a recount of some of the things this author has experienced as a paranormal investigator. Having the ability to hear a ghost's entrance and to actually see them in your minds eye...I don't think that's for me. This was a well written book. . The author knows what she's talking about. Very interesting.. 😊
Honestly wasn't sure what I expected...I usually read fiction. As a lover of all things paranormal, I was excited to read something based on true events. Sadly, I only made it to Chapter 5, I couldn't read any more. Lot of details I didn't care about, and just not for me, was hoping to hear more about paranormal experiences not so much the authors personal life I guess.
I was spooked, especially with the last chapter. I really like books that explain the background information and history of where the setting takes place and each place was described perfectly and historically. This would be perfect to read around Halloween.
I have reading her books.each one is better than before. Getting to read haunted harmony. This woman has been through he'll and back again. Can't for a new one
I was hooked right from the start. I felt as though I was standing right next to Joni as she experienced every thing she did. Many times I was holding my breath as I was not sure what was going to happen next. The title certainly describes Joni.
