Rescuing what's left of humanity while being hunted by creatures that shouldn't exist.
A group of ex-military having made it to the salvation of the Austin camp, team up once again to go back out and rescue eighteen thousand people from across the country.
But the grammatical errors are awful. Really needs a person to edit the errors to make it !ore readable. The plot and story is awesome and original so please bring on the next installment because I'm anxious to read it even with all the errors.
Just the the first book in this series this book grabbed me from the beginning and had me not wanting to put it down! As a reader I'm so thrilled that this new author decided to take a risk and share this fantastic story! Once again I can't wait to begin the next book in this series!
There's lots of typos. I got the first book free a long time ago. While trying to figure out what to read next I came across it and said sure why not. It turned out pretty good. So much so that I bought this one. Now I bought the next one. I love the characters and the weird animals make me cringe but think yeah man has always dominated before but now it's pay back time. Only this group is fighting back. I'm glad it's a group that is also needing justice of their own. The only issue I have is the author needs to find someone or several some ones to correctly edit for typos. As someone who does this for other authors it can be a little unnerving and causes a distraction from the story. I hope the author fixes them soon.
The loss of a star was not the fault of the author, but rather his editorial staff. They did MUCH better this time but still need work. PM once again produces an intriguing take on a post-apocalyptic story with a new twist. This book looks further into the backgrounds of some of the characters while providing fast paced encounters with the creatures trying to oust humans as the top of the evolution ladder. I have read many apocalyptic books and this rates as a new favorite.
Interesting story line but the grammar mistakes are distracting.
Come on!!! Sometimes it is as if two different people wrote this. One is a really good writer who keeps your interest and the story flowing. The other is a flunk- out from grade school grammar!!! Misplaced commas, missing words, incorrect word choices, awkward sentences and run-on sentences galore. It makes reading this book very difficult. Book one had a few issues, but not many. This one is just driving me crazy with all the errors.
Rescue is Book 2 in the Cascade series. It is definitely meant to be read in order.
I am SO FRUSTRATED! This is a GREAT BOOK!! It's an awesome and completely new concept! But the editing is HORRIBLE. It goes beyond distracting. There are so many errors, not just with incorrect punctuation and oddly capitalized words, but repeated wrong verb tenses as well as misspelled words!
If you can get past the errors, I would absolutely recommend this book. While I almost closed it multiple times, I did finish it and am headed to Book 3.
Am addicted to this series and can't wait to continue with Book 3. There are so many grammer errors, but they don't detract from a very compelling story line and great characters. If the author will send me each chapter as he finishes it, I'll be VERY happy to edit them for him to correct both spelling and grammar, but the American lingo rather than the British (i.e. torch instead of flashlight.) The story is set in the USA. Keep writing, Phil!
As with the first book, this is let down by the quality of the writing. Apostrophes abound where not needed, constant use of ‘of’ instead of ‘have’, standard errors around there, their, they’re;, here, here; where, were; your, you’re, etc. I am enjoying the story but find I am proofreading it rather than taking it in properly. I usually get lost in a book, but not so much in this, simply because of the numerous errors.
Plenty of mayhem to keep the reader engaged and turning pages, if they don't become distracted by the sloppy editing. Even if you aren't looking it will slap you in the face. Some of the skunks seem to have the ability to change their stripes while others don't. Twill be interesting to see what evolves next.
Although this book did not end on a cliffhanger, it certainly felt like it! So many situations that I want to know more about right now! 😂😂😂 Headed to download book 3 with a Merry Christmas to myself.
Enjoyed book 2 very much. This book keeps you rooting for the people trying to escape all the deadly creatures. The adventure continues and on to book 3.
I tried. I really did. I liked the first book; thought it had a very unique twist to the end of our world. I got about half way through this one before all the grammatical errors got to be too much for me. I'm hoping I'll see an updated edition out soon because I did like the story.
