Urdhr, an aging witch who lives alone in the Great Forest, decides to find herself a companion and housekeeper but ends up facing some unexpected consequences in the this hilarious twisted take on classic fairy tales.
It's a rare thing to find a good, clean fantasy story that also appeals to adults. This book is one of those stories. In the style of William Goldman's timeless classic, "The Princess Bride," this wonderful fairytale is full of epic adventure, memorable characters, and just a dash of magic! The story centers around Urdhr, an aging enchantress who decides to take on a little extra help around her secluded woodland cottage. Chaos and mayhem inevitably ensue, and the result is a charming tale the whole family will want to read again and again! The jokes will keep your kids in stitches, and the numerous tongue-in-cheek pop-culture references will keep the adults in the room begging for more! Can't wait for the next installment in this wonderful series.
I absolutely loved this book. I cant wait to read more from Arthur Short. If you loved Princess Bride, you will love this book. The characters were witty and endearing. The dialogue is smart and funny. You get whisked away in this fantasy and feel like your part of this. This story will go on and become a favorite for young and old. My favorite character so far is Borosie. Who else out there has favorites??
