Seventeen writers. Three languages. One theme. Dive straight into this collection of short stories as varied and contrasting as the country that brought these authors together. Good things come in small packages.
Siebzehn Schriftsteller. Drei Sprachen.
I am totally biased, seeing as I know most of the contributors personally. Still, I'd like to point out that the vast range of genres and ideas that were sparked by the common theme "White" is remarkable. It's been absolutely fascinating to lose myself in a different world for a spell and then being able to put a name, a face and remembered snippets of conversation together to form a more complete picture of the people I share writing space with during November. I can't wait to hear the clickety clack of word wars being fought once again, especially now that I know the kind of magical, fantastical and interesting worlds that are being created.
So viele Emotionen.
A fine collection of short stories and a great opportunity to get to know the NaNoWriMo participants in Switzerland. With its variety of genres (fantasy, mystery, adventure, historical, biomedical, literary, women’s fiction), this book has something to appeal to every taste. All of the stories are connected by the theme of “white”. We can see it in blank sheets, walls, snow, gems, drugs, makeup, lab coats, among others. In a country so linguistically diverse, this multilingual anthology is very appreciated, because it draws attention to the multicultural present of Switzerland. Most of the stories were written in English and German, and there is one in Italian.
