Lexi Levine has a secret that she is desperate to keep from the rest of the Shifter Squad. She is being hunted by a vampire who is determined to turn her into the undead. Lexi hopes that leaving New Orleans will enable her to escape from the fate that is haunting her.
The squad is sent to West Virginia on a mysterious mission from one of the Paranormal Investigation Agency’s upper echelon. The foes they face this time might be human, yet they are as dangerous and unpredictable as any monsters.
Lexi discovers that the house they are using for their base of operations is occupied by more than just ordinary people. Burdened with unique talents, only she can see the creatures that are invisible to everyone else. She doesn't know why she is so different from other shifters, but she will have to learn how to use her new abilities if they hope to prevail against the Dark Coven.
I began reading horror and paranormal books when most girls my age were still reading fairy stories. I always dreamed that one day I would be able to write stories that readers could become lost in.
The Mortis, Shifter Squad, Hellscourge and Fate's Warriors series are connected, but can be read as stand alone series. The overarching theme about Fate's chosen champions will come to an end with my fifth series; Loki's Exile.
My sixth series, Hunter Elite, begins a new saga with the seventh series, Half Fae Hunter, as a spin off.

For some reason I can't get enough of these characters! I am hooked. I find myself wanting to know more. It is still not a mind blowing tale, but I am so incredibly interested that it makes up for it. It is full of action, a bit "childish" at times, but I genuinely like them and wants to know what happens next!
In this book our beloved Shifter Squad is facing a coven of dark wishes and warlocks. Not only that Lexi is also facing the threat of her vampire "mother", not only brings it Lexi in danger, but her team as well. It is time for her to finally come clean with what happened in New Orleans before it is too late.
Dark Coven begins right after the second book left off. Lexi has just realized that her mother has more power of her than she thought. Not only that, but it seems like her bond with her mate is weakened by it. These two must figure it out before Lexi is turned to the "dark" side. But not only do they have to worry about that, they also have to worry about the witches that are killing innocent people every year for horrible reasons. The group must now work together in order to figure this one out. It will be a lot easier said than done though.
This one was okay. It wasn't as great as previous books though. It was a little frustrating with the way Lexi and her her mate keep acting. And in the end how they just agreed to things just bugged me too. I really wish Lexi would be a little more open, I really hate how she closes down around her mate. It's all rather frustrating.
I did however enjoy the things that happened between her and her friends, and all of the things that happened between her family as well. I can not wait for the next book.
Once again Diem has weaved a continuance of our shifter squad tale. From witches, to spirits, and a dash of vampire this book is wicked. Not to mention a little mate bonding. We love that! If you liked the other two you'll like this one as well. Love it!!!
The team are off on a witch hunt only they don’t know it yet. It doesn’t take them long to figure out what’s going on in the small town of Bradbury, West Virginia and what they learn along the way will surprise even them.
The book picks-up where we left off with Lexi reeling from what she now remembers; her mother is a vampire and wants her daughter at her side. Even with her rather unusual skills, Lexi is unable to withstand the draw of her mother and it’s yet another secret she’s going to try and keep from her squad. Unfortunately for Lexi, her mother is going to give-up anytime soon. The recap was shorter this time around, or at least it wasn’t as jarring as it was in Zombie King, so that’s a bonus. It’s one less thing for me to complain about, as this book was probably my favourite of the series so far.
So what’s in store for the Shifter Squad? Well they gain a new member and have a couple of temporary additions while undertaking this mission. Lexi continues to surprise herself and the team with her budding abilities. Our favourite non-couple settle into their bond a little – even if they aren’t yet ready to accept it – by occasionally talking within the other’s mind, looking through each other’s eyes, etc. And we get to witness the squad bonding on a whole new level. I liked the fact that the team could grow even closer. Most of them have grown up together and have been hunting together for several years, so it was nice to see their relationships deepen. Zeus is a welcome addition to the team, bringing a new dynamic and little more stability to Lexi. As much as I love Lexi, she’s still a little frustratingly closed lipped at times and really need to learn that even alpha personalities need someone to lean on once in a while. She has an almost masculine personality trait in the way that she seems to think that she should never show weakness. Hopefully this is something she’s going to grow out of as the series continues. That all said; I’m off to read Rogue Wolf. Enjoy.
Very good book. Full of action, mystery, friendships, magic, wereanimals and love. Great story line and strong characters. So grab your copy and enjoy reading.
love the series it's a new favourite but her deep insecurity & stupidity regarding her relationship with reece annoyed me when it wasn't resolved by the end of the previous book... and now its really pissing me off that it's not resolved even at the end of the 3rd book... the fact that they both clearly love eachother yet only become "affectionate" when one of them will die if they don't is ridiculous the first book was believable because the villian was lust the second book just bearable because it regarded their bond but again? seriously. if it wasn't the only time they initiated feelings or intimacy between eachother it wouldn't be so grating but now i'm wondering if they will be a happy couple who actually communicates etc by book 9 considering most shifter novels mate bonds are immediate and theirs was suppose to be forced (even though it clearly wasn't as multiple characters state and the author leads us to believe) than why oh why am i on book 4 of 9 and their relationship has made zero progress ? there are smaller things that are trivial that i could nitpick but i won't because any book has these and i love the series and want to believe i won't end up throwing it out on it's ass i do want it to be good and i have some consolation that it is hinted to be headed in that direction...*fingers crossed* ps: i still reccomend reading it despite my current state of bitch mode it's genuinely a good plot with original ideas and overall well written my only qualm just happens to be my biggest pet peeve about stories potrayed through the mind of someone who is thinking like a bratty tween while in the body of someone who is suppose to be "super mature" as mentioned a few times each book by the character herself and an occasional new character. don't let me down book 4! live up to your status as alpha lexi \(^^)/ i want to love you but your making it hard! ♡
Lexi and the team are now on a new mission to a small town to fight against...[ I'm not telling you just have to read the book yourself]. You found out in this book that Lexi and Reese can control their beasts forms along with Kala and Flynn's forms by bitting them before they shift. We also found out that a vampire is stalking Lexi to get her within the vampire coven. She also gets a dog in this book. The dog is not one that i would get as a pet.
Her relationship with Reece is tricky or fucked up in my case; on the one hand, he is in her head and knows her emotions and thoughts the moment she has them, but on the other hand, their bond has taken away any privacy she might have enjoyed, she also has no clue what Reese is thinking about, his emotions and thoughts. Which hurts her continuously by his lack of communication skills about their mating bond.
Kala and Flynn are supporting Lexi with emotionally and physical words or hugs, and just plain lessons of hand to hand combat. Mark acts like a secondary father to her but knows more than he should.
Dark Coven is the third book in the Shifter Squad series and I am totally hooked. Lexi is strong, both emotionally and physically, but her strengths are put to the test when her vampire mother tries to send her to the dark side. Lexi must use the support of the pack around her if she is to survive. The coven is intent on destroying Lexi as she tries to stop their murdering sacrifices but she finds allies in the most unexpected places. Her relationship with Reece is tricky; on the one hand, he is in her head and knows her emotions and thoughts the moment she has them, but on the other hand their bond has taken away any privacy she might have enjoyed. This series is exceptionally well written and keeps the suspense going even as the storyline changes. If you have time to read one series this year, then I recommend that it is this one.
Just as good as the first two books. Already got the next one. Such a great plot the just pulls you in making you want more and more. Though this does mean that I couldn't put it down and wish I didn't have to go to work and could read faster. Love Mark he is just such a great character and dad. Though will admit don't like her father very much. With all of th characters you find yourself wanting to find out everything about them. Even the fact it is only from one point of view doesn't stop it from being amazingly good.
Another great installment. More of the team, the action, the romance and new found family bond. As this series moves forward the bond between the squad grows stronger from friends to family. The bond between father and daughter is strained though but understandably so. Innocent lives were lost but found retribution and justice in the end, New friends were made, and evil was once again taken care of. I'm excited for the next installment.
Oh.My.Goodness! Out of the three I have read so far this is the best! And finally Lexi and Reece have acknowledged their Bond properly. But.....what is going to happen to Zeus! And will Lexi's Dad make a return? And what about Katrina..... And who is the lone rogue werewolf? ...guess I need to read book 4
The third book deals with a dark and murderous coven of witches and warlocks. While in the town of Bradbury, Alexis learns more that she really wanted to about herself and who else really knew what she was before she knew that she became a part of the supernatural world.
Good book. Quick read. I only gave it 3 stars because the author constantly explains concepts that have already been explained in previous books. I know the books are being written in a way that they can be stand alone novels but I find the Explanations to be rather annoying.
Definitely a good book, definitely worth reading, but it feels like there's too much put on the main character. I don't want to explain specifically, but I'm sure when you read it you'll understand what I mean.
Another great story, the series continues and they end up in West Virginia, reports of a coven killing people needs investigation. As well as the investigation Alexis also has issues with the parentals. Full of drama and excitement I am looking forward to the next instalment
Book 3 and I am hooked. Can't wait to get home and sink back in. I will confess my annoyance with Lexi is growing but only in a way that makes me want to see more of the unfolding stories.
I've read the first two of the Shifter Squad Series and I was looking forward to reading the next book in this series. It did not disappoint. I think its best if you read them in order, however the author does a good job of keeping the reader aware of what has happened in the past. The book from an erotic perspective is not overly sexual, really not a R rating. So since I favor very sexual graphic books, it shows just how good this one is since I continue the series. The below quote is the most sexxully graphic, however there is plenty of gore and blood.
A fav passage: "My legs went around him and he began to move faster, piercing me deeper each time our bodies came together."
But the shifter squad works together to track and kill those who harm humans. Four young adults, various were creatures, enjoy the hunt, but they are still young and it is interesting to read about their various reactions to the evil beings they hunt. Lexi is the youngest, and probably the most talented even though she is new to the shifter squad and she is also a new wolf shifter. This is the third book and Lexi's paranormal gifts keep expanding. Her relationship with Reece is still iffy, and her Dad plays a role in this book as well. So much going on makes for a really good read.
