With the team back in full swing there’s just enough time to meet the Board of the PIA before they’re called on to track down their enemy. Unfortunately the team will also be side-tracked from their main mission when a new golem rises.
We’re nearing the end of the series and it’s a bitter sweet feeling. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends, who’s running EERIE and just how Lexi is going to fulfil her task of saving the world. One of those questions will actually be answered in this novel, which is good. By the time Web Master comes to an end, Lexi will finally have all the skills she needs to win the war too; in theory. Eight books in and we’re still learning new information about the team, as we learn just how Flynn became a wereconstrictor when he’s believed to be the only one of his kind. We also get to see a little more of what Lexi is capable of when her necromancer comes out to play. You’ll be thankful for her darker side when it helps save a member of the team and provides the shifter squad with an interesting perk. I do so love watching our heroine grow in strength, as she learns to hone her skills. While I’m a bit of an arachnophobe, I have to admit I did enjoy the scene where someone in the team overcomes their phobia and kicks a rather large spider. Their sense of triumph is something I can definitely relate to. (Not that I think I’d be that brave in their situation). And if you were beginning to suspect that Lexi and Reece would be the only Shifter Squad couple to find love then you’re in for a treat in Web Master, as the prospects are there for more than one of the squad to find a partner. Oh and if you’re curious as to what Laurylayne’s blessing was, you’ll definitely want to download and start reading this book now.
Warning: This book might not be suitable for anyone with arachnophobia. While reading about spiders might not set you off, you should be aware that they feature heavily in this book and the next.
