not for the faint of heart or the faint of art, whoever such people might be -- i don't meet many people nowadays, owing to how i work from home and all -- but a fascinating book nevertheless. hyde's next illuminated manuscript drops on christmas day...i'll read that one too. as bits go, there are some brilliant ones in here that put the second dril book to shame, e.g., the story of the prisoners who discover they can subsist off the pleasant-tasting fecal matter of a cellmate, then decide to stop eating it, then die. the big sci-fi story that ties it all together, the "choose your adventure," is the weakest part of the book by far, though it's hardly filler.
