3.5*

Having enjoyed the previous book 'Blind Beast Mate' plus the novella 'Virgin Beast Mate' I was looking forward to starting this and as with the previous books it proved to be an entertaining read.
Vice is trying to track down his wayward mate Dewlyn, it's the third time she's run from him and while he finds her fight and courage attractive enough is enough, this time he's going to make sure she stays put.
As we know the Beasts have only one mate, there will never be another. Vice bought Delwyn from Community Three and she was happy, happy to be escaping and happy to be marrying a beast but although she begged to go with him there and then Vice left her thinking he was doing the right thing, abiding by the Community's rules but one month later it was a much different Delwyn he picked up, this one didn't want him or anything to do with him.
It's well into the book before we discover why Delwyn changed and I felt so sorry for her but even after discovering Delwyn's secret I still wasn't sure it explained her behaviour. I know she's mad at the world and Vice and the beasts in particular but she knows their secret, she knows she's it for him so bearing this in mind she could have used this to help future beast mates by changing things in the communities.
Maybe I'm being too picky
Now this is another great entertaining read I liked all the characters and the story is moving, developing beyond just an alien romance and after reading the sneak peek I can't wait for 'Sent Beast Mate' if you're reading this Milana write quickly please.

I smiled a sad smile. A tear escaped my eye. “You were my Prince Charming,” I told Vice. “You were supposed to swoop down on your iron horse and take me with you and away from poverty, where I could buy a pair of jeans and a new skater. You weren’t supposed to leave me there for another month...”

Dystopian world, Great Nuclear War survivors in a religious society, Beast aliens are looking for human brides through the Beast Pairing Program, Extremely religious parents give the tomboy daughter to the Beast, One month before the pairing is enough to demolish her spirit, The Beast does not get the Mate he expected, Lots of running, Lots of escaping, Lots of bikes, Shocking revelations about the human brides, Alien Beasts are nicer than humans. Short story that actually started in the previous book, not boring, interesting concepts.

I enjoy reading this author. I loved Blind Beast Mate, so I was super excited about the release of Wild Beast Mate. We've met Dewlyn before in the previous books. She helped Rey by retrieving her dog and has been running from Vice for some time, though we never really learned her reasons why.

Vice and Dewlyn played the cat and mouse game before Vice finally caught up with her once and for all. He loves her fight, her fire, but he needs her in his life as his mate. He needs her tamed.

The community Dewlyn grew up in has an agreement with the beasts that states once a bride is bought, there's to be a one month waiting period so she can be prepped. Though Dewlyn begged Vice to ignore it, he ended up leaving her there, and we learn this is the root of all her animosity. We know something happened during that month, but we don't know what until close to the end of the book.

When Vice first went to buy Dewlyn, she was ecstatic. She was excited about living a better life--owning jeans, eating better food, living in a nicer home, having more freedom--and she was willing to play house with Vice and be whatever he wanted her to be in order to get it. While I understand that what happened to her was horrible (I truly did feel sorry for her), for me, it didn't make sense as a reason for her to run away, especially after Vice told her she was his one and only. Knowing there would never be another for him, all of her reasons for wanting to live in Beast City were still attainable. I just didn't get it...

There are also gaps in the story. Vice and Jamie go to the community and fall into some trouble. They escape but are a three hour bike ride from Beast City...without bikes. Suddenly, Vice is just back in time to help the girls.

I still enjoyed reading about the Beasts, but I wanted to love it. Unfortunately, I just feel like there are huge pieces missing from the story.

"Wild Beast Mate" was another exciting read in the Beast Mate series. This particular story was a little teary for me due to Delwyn's sad backstory but you instantly figure out why she kept running from hero, Vice, her beast the way she does after he told her that she was his TRUE MATE not just a purchase. I continue to enjoy the alpha beast, Jamie and his brother's relationship (Vice) in this story as well. These beasts were so opposite (brains-vs- brawn) yet both wanted to give their pairs everything if they loved them, submit to them, pet them (lol) and stayed true to them. They are good comic relief for the story as well. Oh, the sexual relationship was as smexy as ever too.

4 adrenaline stars!!!!!!!!!! ****

Love Vice, he's so damn sweet and his mate, Dewlyn, was a "bit" of a handful. In this time and world, when a beast finds his pair he has to buy her and wait a month before he can take her home. She's a tiny firecracker and she wanted to go with him right then, that day. As per agreement, he has to leave her. When he comes back to get her, she's very different than she was....so she leaves/escapes their home. This is a game of cat and mouse for these two. You get to find out why she changed in the month he's away....pull at your heartstrings.

Every time she leaves, she's going to a shelter to help other beast pairs with getting food and the things they need to hide and survive. In this series their is a a group called Men of Earth....they're actually more of a nasty cult. They want to "save" these women, which really translates to them taking them, raping them and overall treating them like crap...sorry, personally I'd rather be a pair, because these are really mates that are cherished and spoiled. Yeah, that's definitely me.

Love this series so much.

Much better than book one, but still a ton of issues, IMHO. Vice and Dewlyn are much more interesting characters than Jamie/Rey (an alien named Jamie... really?) and this book dove more into the world building aspect. As I said in my review for #1 in this series, the world building was like an unpeeled onion.. you KNOW there's layers, but no one wants to dig in and find out. WBM allowed a bigger peek into the world of this story.

HOWEVER.. as in BBM (#1), the sexy times are a little too kink for my tastes... it's not my thing. Almost kidnappy/rapey. NOT COOL.

It was also very frustrating to hear Dewlyn and Rey explain to their men exactly what is wrong with the Pairing Program (sexy version of sex trafficking, honestly... it's almost gross) and the guys seem to get it, but not really. Vice does make a very selfless choice towards the end that kind of redeemed him in my eyes, but a lot of this story still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

IDK. I'm going to try some different things before I download book 3.

Wild Beast Mate is another enjoyable story in this series. In the last book we saw that Vice already has a mate but he can't seem to keep her. Dewlyn's a really wild little thing that has been helping pairs escape their mates. Since its another short read I did get tired of the constant chase and Dewlyn's anger towards Vice especially since all he wanted to do is care for his mate. When she finally tells him why she's so anger its very upsetting to find out what her community leaders are doing to the woman that are being sold to the beast. Things are heating up with the Men of Earth so I'm looking forward to more.

*WARNING* contains sexual content
This is book two, but can be read as a standalone with no problem. I think this is a good series. I would like more world building in regards to Beast City. I like that book two was similar to book one, but not so much so that it felt like just a matter of changing a few names. Well written. Great characters.

I have seriously loved this series. Which is so freaking strange for me because I don’t usually enjoy “beastly” type romances. I think the thing with this series that works for me, is that they don’t transform between a human and an animal.

Anyhoo, I had really been looking forward to reading Dewlyn’s story, and I must say…sad  I mean, don’t get me wrong, none of the women in this series really start out under the best of circumstances, but Dew’s past is sickening. At first I thought her reaction to Vice, and her running away constantly, was a little overly dramatic. But when I really took a step back and thought about how she felt before Vice took her, and then what happens between her meeting Vice and actually leaving with Vice, I could understand her reaction. The way the humans describe the beasts and their desires, I couldn’t blame her for fearing that if she told Vice the truth, she would no longer be worthy in his eyes.

Vice has been one of my favorite Alpha Beasts so far, and I was so happy to see how his and Dew’s story turned out. I also must say I love how Milana has interwoven the overall story arc into the individual romances taking place. Getting to meet the new characters, while getting updates on the previously introduced characters, plus a compelling storyline and world for all of them to interact in, makes this a series I’m sure I’ll continue to read through to its completion.

Thank to the author for providing me with a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Such an enjoyable series. I'm really happy to get Dewlynn's story. I liked her back when we first met her, so getting her story now is pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to starting the next book to see what comes next!

Subject matter / themes are not for the faint of heart - Dark themed PNR

I do NOT consider these as stand-alone reads, as there are reoccurring characters and overarching themes. I HIGHLY recommend that these be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes (elements of BDSM with dominance, submission, restraints, bondage, breath play, etc.) and violence (human trafficking / enslavement, consensual / non-consensual acts, kidnapping, rape, assault, torture, murder, etc.).

⛔️ If you have not read the previous story, then the following may contain spoilers.

There are grammatical errors throughout the story. None were difficult to interpret and include typos, misspellings, and incorrect, extra and missing words. I am trying to include these for readers like myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

The characters were introduced, and the story universe (world building) continued from the first story. The background of Dewlyn is tragic and explains her actions. Vice is the second in command to the Alpha Beast, his older brother, Jamie. Vice is an Alpha in his own right and the two of them have been arguing more than normal because of Dewlyn. They have a plan to address this going forward, but first Vice needs to “tame” his mate.

Dewlyn is a firecracker, but after Vice went to pick her up after she turned 19 years old, she was withdrawn and depressed. Nothing like the girl … er, woman, she was before. Not sure what to do, Vice continues to chase her every time she runs, which is all the time. There are a lot of hijinks throughout the story, similar to what she did in the first story, but more detailed with feelings, thoughts, and emotions added. This makes all of the difference in bringing the characters and fantasy world to life.

I want to include more because the story may be dark, but there are a lot of emotions and feels within it. I went from wanting to tie Dewlyn down myself to wanting to just hug and protect her. So glad she got someone in the end that was strong enough for her to be able to count on, but confident enough to let her fly.

No true HEA in this one

If you’re looking for a true happy ending in this book, you’re not going to get it. I adored the male character for most of the book personality wise. Did not appreciate certain aspects where he thought sex was the cure for everything. But over all I did like him. Really enjoyed the female characters spunk and how wild she was. However, she suffers permanent damage and abuse by her community and only temporarily is bothered by it in slight depression. What she has done to her forcibly should have caused long term and potential permanent depression, anxiety etc to at least some degree. She sure seemed to get over it fast and then just ‘hated’ the beast Vice because since he left her for a month it was able to happen to her. But yet, she dropped the hate against him too and at the end of the book she was telling him she loved him and was happy like nothing had ever happened. There’s moving forward and healing mentally, but in their case they just brushed her trauma under the rug like it didn’t happen and would not create a lasting issue in the relationship. The psychological fallout was not properly addressed. And they seemed to just shrug it off. Talk about a total fantasy! Because in the real world there would be long term issues. So while you might enjoy the story some, I was let down by the true mental state oversights for the long term. Coming from a psychology degrees background, I just felt it didn’t adequately embrace and represent what actual victims of trauma would really process at a detailed and long term level. I guess I found it semi disrespectful even though I know the author likely didn’t mean it that way.

Enjoyed

First I do want to say this is NOT a rape book nor is the writer glorifying rape . Some reviews has said it is and that just because the female had an orgasm doesn't make it not rape. The male in this treated her with more respect than her family who was the real problem. He had her for weeks the second time in all that time he never had sex with her . He never forced her at all. I have read books where it has been rape and glossed over as love because they forced orgasm . That is rape an book got bad reviews from me .... I say to readers that think this is rape ,please stop reAding anything but your fluff where Insta love is your bread and butter!
I liked this one better than the first . We are finally getting into a two prong plot. First the communities and some of their horrible men and women that have taken power but are corrupt. Abuse is rife from these girls own family . The second is The Men Of Earth ,the purest . They want pure human ( and then it'll be color ,race after a while) and as per usual kidnaps woman and full them with false tales of saving them from beast. No matter if they want it or not. This is becoming very interesting with the emotions of some that have become attached to human men but have mates and I do see maybe a third plot where not all beast are being honest or waiting for their true mate but are just deciding they like certain girls and are taking them. So I'm off for the third book and I'm hoping it stays on this path.

I held off reading this book for so long because I was afraid it wouldn’t compare to the first book. I shouldn’t have waited.

I think this book had a more serious feel to it, and it really moved the series into an ongoing story. It set up a background story to take place while the other beasts find their mates. The background story wasn’t overpowering and never took away from Vice and Dewlyn, which I’m so glad. It just gave their story more depth.

I felt for both characters. Dewlyn was betrayed by people who were supposed to love and protect her, and I can see how she put some of the blame on Vice by not taking her when he had the chance. But at the same time it wasn’t his fault and he never would have known they would hurt her. I wanted Vice to get his girl back and I wanted her to be happy.

I love how it happened. I love that Vice milked it for all it was worth. Even if it took faking a little bit of a coma. lol.

This was another emotionally enthralling book. I feel so sorry for Dewlyn and she didn't deserve what her parents deliberately did. The more I read these books, the more I see the humans as monsters; and the the half-breeds as humane. I don't see this book as a happy ending because of the double-cross that happened to the women at the shelter and the double-cross that happened in Community Three. Now I hate "Men of Earth" since they're like the Nazi's during Hitler's reign. I gave it 5 stars because of the way it kept me glued to it for the entire book but I just can't see no happy ending, even tho' she did give herself to Vice, it left with me not knowing if she was gonna stay with him.

Pretty good read

I had read book one and enjoyed it, but I almost stopped reading the series because of a bad review. I’m glad I went ahead and read it. I liked the h, like many people she had been broken, but she was an adrenaline junkie before they even knew each other. While the asphyxiation scenes during sex aren’t my thing, it made for a sexy read. The H was trying to help his mate. (Yes, there is a fated mate thing going on in these books, and if their mate dies they don’t survive) 3 stars mean I enjoyed the book, 4 means I’ll reread it. If you’re thinking about reading this don’t let the scary nay sayers scare you off.

This book was such a fun quick read, i enjoyed it a lot. It's the perfect mixt of banter, action and romance with a sprinkle of comedy.

Dewlyn is a wonderful fmc. Selfless and brave, always ready to give even though so much was taken from her. Her fire is a force to recken with.

Vice is an amazing caring mmc. His love and patience for Dewling was unmatchable. He took his time to win her back and gave her the freedom she so desperatly wanted. He even tought her how to fly a space sheep because she loves flying.

The pace was good, events unpredictable and the vibes were so fun. Honesly it's a really good book with an inspering message.

Pairings

The ritual each community has is different but vice finds his mate and has to leave for a month to be prepared. The super receptive mate he left behind was sad and depressed when he retrieved her. The multiple escapes she made and the pairing run away house she set up was all in her hatred of her mate leavening her unprotected at her community. The fight carries her to the bitter truth of blaming him because he left and they took her female parts so the beasts couldnt breed her.

After an atomic war there are few humans left, when the alien beasts arrived they started reclaiming the atomic wastelands.

The beasts had few females, and soon found out that human females were compatable. A compact was set up so that beasts could buy a woman to be a "pair" to a beast male. Some of these " pairs" were actually mates, but no human knew this. The humans in charge of the human settlements were not faithful to their bargain, and corrupted, drugged, or even raped the girls who going as pairs so they'd hate the beasts. This is the outcome of those policies.

Notes: I don't know if I hated or if I loved this.

I mean, the story is pretty awesome and very entertaining. I binge read this book with all my heart. But, the ending???? What the actual fuck was that? It just ended, like there was so much stuff that could've been done. It just ended, I was so stunned to see the credits page after the ending of the story that I just sat there with my mouth hanging open.

I feel like nothing was solved, the Men of The Earth are still out there and stuff is happening, and this thing just ended. I'm slightly irritated.

I couldn't put it down! This book was even better than Rey and Jaime's story. I stayed up all night to finish it. Delwyn is such a dynamic character and she is daring or reckless but her heart is open, like a puppy. Vice is a great pairing with her because he's so calm. The things that happen to her are heartbreaking and change her, but she continues to learn and grow throughout the story. I hope that Hannah can get saved and I've already gotten the next book. Who needs sleep anyway?

Wild ride

I think I rooted for Vice the entire way through. I just wanted to see him and his mate happy, and in the end, I knew she really wanted to love him freely. This book is filled with lots of Alpha posturing, and wonderful angst. It's got twists and turns you won't see coming, bit best of all it has a Beast that really only wants what's best for his mate, even if that means him own suffering.

Really enjoyed!

Far much better than the previous one. I loved the sense of adventure I got from the heroine. The audio book is included in Audible Escape. Makes the book much more enjoyable. I noticed the author's research for the book. Author's notes were as enjoyable. Loved the heroine of the story. And although small, it reminds how zealous cultists can destroy humanity in us.

This story was okay for a one time read and was enough to pique my interest further into the series. However, some of the underlying themes come across as demeaning, such as "little woman in the kitchen to cook my meals and have my babies" and the forced sexual interactions.

Also, this book is not really a stand alone. I was lost aplenty on the background and understanding of the aliens and how they became integrated into human society and taking over.

Didn’t hang together (2.5)

Now I don’t expect the world-building to be top notch… buts it’s been 2 books and very little about this society makes any sense at all. The ending of this book felt rushed and unearned. (She is dead against him and the magically just? Not?)
That all being said the dialogue is funny and the characters are distinct and likable. I May continue the series because I want to know more but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Love Vice and Dewlyn

This was a excellent story... Dewlyn plight was one of something's that you have heard about in other cultures being done to young girls...But the love that Vice gave her made a big different in her life ...action ..good loving...good friends.. Read this book as well as the others in this series.. You won't be disappointed....

Disappointing

I enjoyed book one. It took me a bit to warm up to the beast Jamie. Now, just when I like him, he let's me down. This book did not show a alpha and his second. It showed weakness and cowards running. So so disappointed. Not even sure I will continue reading this series at this point.
