I am an indie author who started off with writing fanfiction. Nuada is my favourite fantasy character from Guillermo del Torro's movie Hellboy 2: The Golden Army and I just could not live with him being dead as in the original story. So, I started my own fanfiction story and gave a new dimension to his universe.

I have a background in engineering but since last year, I have taken up writing and can't seem to stop! I lived in Scotland for a while and there, I met real-life witches, gypsies and story tellers who introduced me to a world of magic and fantasy which made me realise that I have my own tales to tell the world.

This short story was such an enticing read! Essentially a folklore tale with a modern setting, it definitely earned it's creepiness similar to a Grimm's Fairy Tale. Hmmmm ...... makes you think twice about travelling off the beaten track.

I loved this short story! Four young men decide to go to Scotland and during their vacation they decide to hike up Ben Nevis. They are warned to stay on the trail. Of course they don’t. This is the story of what happened…. I can’t really say much without spoilers. I’ll just say when I was done I had to look and see if the “something sinister” was real or if Ginny Clyde created it.

Astray is highly recommended. I did not want to put it down; I wanted to know what was going to happen!

I received a copy from Ginny Clyde in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Ginny!

This is a fun short story. The author does a good job of drawing the reader in and the dialogue seems realistic. I have to say, I always wonder just a bit when I start out on a vacation if I will make it back home again.

Love the use of Folklore!

I love folklore & faery tales. And I REALLY love it when modern authors dip into those stories to create a new one. So, I couldn't wait to read Astray.
The author did a great job in blending Scottish vampires with modern man. I felt the creepiness, I could sense the danger, I was afraid of straying off the path.
The only fault I could find, was that there wasn't more story. I felt like the climatic ending was a little abrupt, that the main protagonist should have suffered just a little bit longer.
But that's FAR from a deal breaker. This story was wonderful and I look forward to reading more from this author. ☆☆☆☆

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is well written and keeps the reader wanting to know more.
A group of friends take a trip to Scotland and intend on following a picturesque path up a mountain. They're tempted to stray from the path by a mysterious woman....will this be the biggest mistake of their lives? (literally). Read and find out...I did :-)

Do you live in relative safety, or do you "stray" off the beaten path, throwing caution to the wind, to be met with creatures and rustling bushes? Even when the boys are warned not to take a certain path, they go astray and meet something sinister. A nice short read to send shiver up your spine.

This is a really fast, consuming read. From the beginning it's easy to connect with these young lads. They're going on a trip in another country. A few gorgeous girls to go around, warnings take a back seat and horror rides shot gun.
