Paul Richter is back

An African prince is gunned down outside a London restaurant. But this is no ordinary assassination. Who is the third killer? Why was there no threat warning? And why did the killers kidnap one of the bodyguards, a former SAS soldier?

Paul Richter is sent on the case. Before long he is in a deadly game of cat and mouse, wounded and chased through the English countryside. Richter will have to rely on all his combat skills and luck to avoid retribution…

A standalone novella in the Paul Richter series, Retribution shows James Barrington at his best: fast, action-packed and giving absolutely no quarter.

Six years has been a long wait for a new Richter story, and delighted to see a new full length story should be out next year.
This is a novella set after the last book which actually rebooted to an introduction to Richter.
Here he is called in when a visiting VIP is assassinated and a bodyguard abducted. With little data to go on, Richter soon finds him the centre of attention for the wrong reasons as the body count starts rising.
I love the series and the interplay between Richter and his boss is perfect. Enjoyed this and cant wait for the next novel.

This is a wonderful short novel, action packed and with a twist towards the end - as all Paul Richter novels do.

The story wonderfully wraps up one of the lose story lines from the earlier Paul Richter novels. Having said that, if you haven't read any of the other Richter novels don't worry, despite the tie back to book sits very well on its own.

If you enjoy a fast-paced thriller/action novel this is well worth it.

Solid

Worth the money. The full length novels are better. A little predictable if you have read other books in the series.

Great one liners …

Richter manages to get it done again. This book is full of dry humor and the kind of action all tip of the spear operatives wish for. Great read

Best Richter story yet...

Great novella, nice action and tied up a loose thread in the storyline quite nicely. Looking forward to the next one...

Good read

Entertaining but rather predictable. All the series have too much in common
Easy to read whilst on holiday.
