As Wewelsburg Castle burns, Eli carries Isaiah to safety. So much is lost, Malachi is gone, the Demon from Eli’s terrible past is reborn into the world already at war, and to make matters worse, Gideon is back. Yet, before Eli can even reach the sanctuary of his home, he learns a painful truth about Gideon, the truth of why he left him, and Eli can barely hold onto his own sanity. Eli quickly understands that not everything in life, or death, is black and white, and sometimes to protect the ones we love, we have to make the greatest sacrifice of all.
I think that as I approach that milestone that is fifty, I must be one of the oldest gamers on the face of this earth. Many a day you will find me lashed to my PS4 enjoying a good session of Skyrim. Who doesn’t love a good session of Skyrim? I love writing—I have done it since I was a child when I would happily write about the latest episode of Doctor Who (Tom Baker in those days) in my schoolbooks. Growing up and becoming a business owner with my friend Jayne left little time to pursue my dream of publication, but of late the desire and the compulsion to put words onto paper have once again dominated my life so that now, my laptop has become surgically fused to my fingertips. There is something desperately satisfying about telling a story. My fascination with History, Religion and Conspiracy theories have, in this instance, gone hand-in-hand with my love of all things vampire, fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I drove my parents nuts when I was young because that was all I would read about in books, all I would watch on television, but they have held me in good stead, and long may my obsession with the subjects continue, at least, that is, until the day they put me in my own wooden box. And imagination is such a wonderful thing. I once had a rather vivid dream about David Tennant and the Tardis console, but I could not possibly go into details about that here. Let’s just say that my polarity was well and truly reversed. Dead Camp is just the beginning. I have to check my knickers every day at the thought that this book is now in the public domain. My first book, and I hope the first of many. And to those out there who love to write, who love to transport us to new worlds, or old worlds with a twisted perspective, I say to you keep going. I never thought I would ever see my work available to download, and thanks to eXtasy Books, the dream that I always thought unobtainable has finally come true. So thank you all at eXtasy, I am one happy homosexual thanks to you, and thank you the reader for taking the time to read this strange tale and allowing Eli and the incomparable Malachi into your lives. And now I really need Skyrim.
OMG.. 10 Stars and I'm still reeling from this absolutely great book.. Mr Kerr is an awesome writer, that's amazing with words. How the hell do I write a review without giving up spoilers. lol The story continues in the aftermath of the battle recedes as Eli watches Malichi walk away from him. The guilt and hurt are all there for Eli This is a complex story line of Eli, Gideon, Ethan, Melek and the others weaving life in times in history. Two Questions kept popping up throughout this book, Who is Eli? and Whats so special about the spear? Yes I have to admit that tissues where used with this book you'll definitely need them. OMG wow moments where awesome too especially as their identity's are revealed and at the start of the book. Gideon's story-line was..... sorry I have no words to describe (without giving it away). You totally need to read this AWESOME SERIES by Sean Kerr. I'll be looking forward to the next book to see what happens next.
Warning: This is the third book of a series and should not be read as a standalone. You will be so confused if you try. Also, this is not for the light hearted, If you are sensitive to religion, the holocaust or any major history in between, you may want to think twice. This author does not hold back and is very detail oriented. With that being said, books 1 & 2 really let me get to know the characters. Some I have loved and others, not so much. I really thought they were incredibly written, BUT I understand now that they were just the setting of what was to come. They were more of the present. But to understand the present, you must know the past, and there is so much to learn. So hold onto your britches, bring your box of tissues and welcome to a journey unlike anything you’ve ever read before.
Sean Kerr has decided to rip my heart out and stomp all over it. Every time I thought I knew whats was going on, he proved I knew nothing of the sort. Nothing is as it seems. Questions I’ve had are being answered all at once, and all the pieces to the puzzle are fitting together.
To watch Malachi walk away from Eli was heartbreaking. I know some of you have had your doubts about this sexy vampire and don’t like him much. I understand but wait until you go into the past and learn the truths about this mear vampire (wrong again). Then who shows up? Low and behold, it’s Gideon. Gideon takes us to the past, and we learn why he has done what he had to. We are taken back to Christ and learn the truth. We learn of a fallen angel, a father’s betrayal and the sacrifices we make for love. Nothing is black and white as the author has said. When Eli is holding Gideon in his arms, I went through a whole box of tissues. I don’t want to say too much because I want you to go through the intense emotions that I have had to endure. Yes, I’m evil that way but not as evil as this author. I mean, really, Ethan. What the hell? Did not see that coming. And what’s up with Adam and Eve walking the earth again? One war ends, so why start another?
I know it seems I’m asking a lot of questions, but it is just my way of telling you to go and get these books to get these answered. This author is unlike any other, and you won’t want to put them down. Go on this intense, historical, emotional and sexy as hell adventure that is epic.
The Pantheon of gods surely must have unleashed Author Sean Kerr upon the unsuspecting public in this bold and balls out work that is titled: DEAD CAMP 3!
I absolutely loved this work. Kerr has again not taken the easy route around a touchy subject. Hell, he doesn’t even bother tip-toeing. He smashes right on through it as colossal as the legendary Kraken itself.
But in usual Kerr fashion he doesn’t tackle a volatile subject in a clumsy, awkward manner, rather, he handles it accordingly with the finesse of a lithe behemoth. Kerr has delved out another installment in the Eli Saga, but the most brash and gutsy so far. DC3 will leave you spellbound and on the edge of your seat throughout this story of BIBLICAL proportions.
If you have been reading this author it should come to no surprise that his storytelling is compelling and detailed, spun in the most enticing way. The author is fantastic at moving us through the backstory of his characters. This installment gives us a lot of HISTORY. I would daresay, a FEARLESS history: Both of the characters and our planet.
I could go on about the genius of DC3 but I could not do so without spoilers. Again, I must applaud Author Sean Kerr on how brave he was to tread where Daniyyel would dare not. And to do so without a stumble. This author is quite methodical and if you haven’t figured that out yet, you will certainly be dowsed in DC3. I would conjecture we can see how dangerously methodical Author Sean Kerr is.
The author has turned out an adventurous and heroic work! This level of daring writing makes me salivate as a reader. This is what separates the grit from the formulaic mainstream novels.
This novel is packed with action, answers and audacity. It is so riveting that some may feel the very ground tremor beneath them as they read.
I suspect things are only beginning to heat up and I can’t wait to see what Sean Kerr has in store of us next. So if you have been rocked by this novel and left unsteady, then shake it off, suck it up, and summon your inner vampire to take flight with me on to Dead Camp 4!
This series is a reimagining of the tale of the Bible & excuse my French but it’s actually pretty fucking cool. I haven’t read anything like this series before. The twist, the turns, the horror, it’s keeping me on my toes and only getting better with each book. I’ll say this til I’m black and blue but not everyone in the Bible is white. That could’ve been reflected in this book but the opportunity is missed and I’m probably just beating a dead horse at this point. Pointing out the necessity of diversity will be my cross to bare. Anywho, I digress, the author really can spin a tale. I was so invested in the plot line. on to the next book.
Riveting/Inspiring/Genius To say I am in complete awe of this writer would be an extreme understatement. After reading Dead Camp Book 1 & 2, I was desperately waiting to get my hands on Book 3, as the Author kept inferring that we would get all the answers. Well, did we get answers, OMG! we sure got answers. Of course I am not going to reveal here now what those answers are, sorry. I wish I had the words to describe all the emotions that I experienced whilst reading Book 3, like 1 & 2, there of course was that very dry English humour, where you would burst out laughing at any given time and those subtle references of songs gone by, how bloody fantastic.. I want to invade Sean Kerr's mind to find out how he made a plethora of Religious events and a war torn horrific time in our History into a novel that has so many twists and turns that your mind is spinning. He is a veritable wordsmith of the highest power. This is not a read for the feint of heart or if you are looking for hearts and flowers, you will not find it here. What you will find is an inspiring novel written by a genius with an incredible, believable story to tell. Now of course I want Book 4. Are we ever happy?
Sean Kerr is truly a very brilliant and gifted author. Each book in this series gets better than the previous book. Book 3 sheds so much light on the past and on what's going on in the present. Mind blowing and you won't be able to put this book down until the very last page! I won't give away and spoilers but YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! OMG!!!!!!!
OMG, I have no words that will do this book justice. It is breath taking. This author has a way of making you feel like a shadow watching the book play out. These books can easily be put into a movie, just how everything flows, it's just epic. Warning there are some ugly major crying going on, But you can't stop reading even through the blurriness of your tears. From book 1 to book 3 has been a journey to see what happens to each character. The people you may have not liked in book 1 and 2, you now fall in love with. And the people you love you now feel a deeper connection with. This book is MUST HAVE in your collection. Recommended HIGHLY. Another Warning: Wont be able to put it down, so stock up on snack food
I have to read these books slowly to make sure I get it all. The author has taken events from history and added his twist onto them. A series that needs to be read in order. This book takes place around Roman times and the death of Jesus, an interesting twist on his death and the aftermath. I will certainly be reading the next book.
What a book of revaluations. The truth behind the lies comes out in this book and boy will the truth blow you away. Or at least it did me. And this is not the end either, in my opinion the fight has only just begun. The question of who will come out the winner in the end is still to be seen.
This book was primarily based around the past. It was based around all the events that led up to Eli becoming a vampire and also it revealed all the answers to why Gideon kept all the secrets from Eli. Gideon in his own way did what he had to do to protect Eli. In my opinion even though Gideon knew Eli was destined for someone else, Gideon fell in love with Eli so strongly that he did everything in his power to protect Eli from the pure evil that would eventually find him. That is why Gideon did everything that he did including locking himself away for so long in a block of ice. He knew if he was in the ice that he would not go to Eli and spill the beans of who Eli is why he is so very important.
When evil does finally catch up to Eli, Gideon, Ethan, and Isaiah.....it is hell on earth and some of none of them may make it out alive. And if they do what will happen next.
I was so glad to see Mal return in this book because he is such a huge person in all these people lives and I do not think that any of them realizes just how powerful a ghost could be until Mal realized it himself. It is definitely a game changer but he question is who will Mal side with in the end. Will Eli and Ethan ever get their chance to be togetherand discover what their true destiny is or will they die before they realize that fate has played a role in them finding one another and what the reason is?
I truly love this series and I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen next. I hope book 4 will be out very soon.
Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review
I have finished all 3 books of Dead Camp now and seriously O M G. I am still trying to calm down from finishing book 3 a couple of hours ago, I don't know how it is possible that Dead Camp was Sean Kerr's first Novel, honestly it was remarkable, I didn't think it was possible as bk 1 was great, but each book just got better and better, I have never been so anxious or excited about this sort of book before, I normally don't read books about war with violence, but Wow, Sean made them work together, without it taking over the story. I loved the twists and mystery surrounding Eli, Malachi and Gideon, God I love those guys. I actually wept at the end of bk 3 as there was so much emotion that I couldn't help myself. I've left out other names that are attached to the Main Characters just in case as I didn't Want to spoil it for anyone. I wish there were more than 5 stars Sean as you are an awesome writer, and I truly can't wait for the next book. Well done Sean, truly well done. I recommend you read this series, you won't be disappointed.
