Summers End: The End is Near. . .

Rate this book
Summer's End has been written for motivated readers in first or second year secondary school. Although essentially a horror novel, it also covers themes and issues that teenagers will readily identify with such as peer pressure, identity, belonging and growing up. The conventions of the horror genre develop within a seemingly ordinary setting and the feeling of menace is built to a chilling climax. As part of the English Alive program, the novel has a number of accompanying worksheets, found in the English Alive Teacher Resource Book Phase 2 , covering language, reading, thinking strategies, and an overview of the novel.
