The second Kaskaskia (formed by a change of location of the first Kaskaskia) stood some fifty miles farther down the Illinois River, at the southern end of Lake Peoria, near the present site of Peoria, Illinois. The third Kaskaskia (which was the second Kaskaskia or at least the greater part of it moved to a different location) stood at the con fluence of the Des Peres River with the Missis sippi, at a site which is now on the southern city limits of St. Louis, Missouri.
