Julia Kaye spends her days decorating cakes and daydreaming about finding Mr. Right. She’s tried it all—fix ups, speed dating, online profiles and even a popular phone app, all with no success. She’s sure her dream man is out there, but she’s done trying to find him herself. She figure's when it’s meant to be; fate will find a way.
Ryan Walters is a workaholic who’s not looking for Mrs. Right. He’s not even looking for Mrs. Right Now. Instead, he spends his days focused on what he cares about most— amassing a fortune. Aside from his sister and her children, Ryan has no time for entanglements of any kind.
What happens when one confirmed bachelor meets the sweetest girl in the world?
This book was Awesome and I'm so glad I saw this one on my news feed this morning. I realized after I downloaded it that I had already read this author's previous book. And I loved that one too. The story is a sweet simple tale about a work obsessed business man who goes to pick up a cake at a bakery and sees a little something sweet that he would like to taste! JUST ONE LOOK and one taste of her sweet sugary confections had him coming back for more.
The hero Ryan is a cynical businessman who believes that he will NEVER find love and that he does not need it. The heroine Julia is a hopeful romantic and she has tried every method known in order to find her true ONE.
This book had some funny moments that had me LOL. Like when the hero takes his nephew home after meeting the heroine: "It took Emmett roughly thirty-eight seconds to tell his mom I was, and I quote, breaking up with my fist because I had a girlfriend. My brother-in-law literally doubled over and howled with laughter so hard I think the fucker almost pissed himself."
This book was also very HOT with some very racy sex scenes. For example: “ I want to go deep ,” he rasped, “and cum inside of you.” I gasped as my pussy clenched around him. “ I want to fuck it in there hard, filling you up until you can’t take another drop. I want you stuffed full of my cock and my cum.”
And the epilogue is just killer here. Come on how can you get more perfect than that!? I ask you?
This book really did have some engaging main characters but it also had some captivating secondary characters. Secondary characters that I would love to have turned into a book. His sister's story sounds amazing and I would simply LOVE to have that story in a book. (HINT HINT) I will be e-mailing the author for sure for this one. Jamie and Harrison story has to be told here. Just what I heard secondhand here was not enough. I need the whole thing! I won't beg but....
Safety: hero has had three lovers but has been celibate for over four here hence the fist jokes, heroine is a virgin. No OW/OM drama.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Sweet Like Candy by Eva Harrison is a fast paced insta-love romance that was sugary sweet. If you believe in love at first sight then this book is definitely for you. When Ryan Walters walked into a bakery to pick up his nephew’s birthday cake, he didn’t believe in love that is until he saw Julia Kaye. One look was all it took to knock Ryan to claim Julia as his. So if you are looking for a super adorable fast paced romance that was sticky as molasses and ridiculously over the top sweet happily ever after then this book is for you.
After LOVING the first book by these authors, I couldn't wait to read this one. Alas, this one was just OK for me. It was just SO ridiculously sweet I wanted to gag. The heroine was this one-dimensional kewpie doll, and the hero (though slightly more developed) was boring as well.
I'll still give these authors another chance though. :D
Sugary sweet and no angst. Just a simple love story of a man who "thought" he was content with being a confirmed bachelor and a woman who had given up on the dating scene. This book hit the spot for me - instalove, not a manwhore, caveman alpha, he instantly wanted to breed her(am I demented)....
~sexy, OTT alpha and NOT a manwhore hero ~sweet caring virgin heroine ~instalove ~no pushing away ~no cheating or ow/om drama whatsoever ~steamy sex scenes ~good secondary characters - little Emmitt cracked me up. He was so sweet and innocent and didn't hesitate to throw uncle Ryan under the bus ~really good epilogue with a HEA
Two novellas down and I think I may be addicted to Ms Harrison's work. She does short stories so well without making it read like it's hurried even though it's either insta-love or insta-lust or both. I love the characters' chemistry and despite the limited number of pages, they were still written well to have full personalities. Ahh, more please.
I've always said I'm not a fan of insta-love but I just loved this book. Ryan Walters isn't looking for love, he's not even looking for sex in fact he can't remember the last time he actually had sex. He's not a fan of the casual hook-up and he doesn't have the time or the inclination for anything else, he's happy just making money. That is until he catches a glimpse of Julia Kaye from behind, that's literally all it takes, one look through the bakery window and he knows that is the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and that's before she even turns round. Unlike Ryan, Julia has looked for loved she's tried blind dates, matchmakers, four dating sites and tinder and all failed her spectacularly and so two years ago she gave up, but now she's looking into the eyes of her future and it's looking good, really good. I just loved this book, it's love at first site, sugary sweet, cute, funny and hot all at the same time. In the interests of being fair I have to mention that the huge spaces between every paragraph annoyed me, it meant I was forever flicking pages. And yes with a kindle it's not exactly difficult but it is annoying when you're reading, or is it just me? It could be me, but apart from that I just loved this book.

4.5 stars!!!! I freaking loved this. Celibate hero for 4 years , he wasn't a manwhore. Virgin heroine. An amazing epilogue that goes into 16 years after.
I absolutely loved this little sweet yet super steamy story by Evie Harrison! It's somehow topped Sin's Temptation and I never believed this could ever happen. Sweet Like Candy is fast paced; it involves a charming woman and sexy yet closed off workaholic man who fall into insta-love! Ryan and Julia are sexy as hell together, adorable and so much fun.
"My skin prickled with awareness as my mouth went dry. I’d never met anyone I was so attracted to."
If you need something quick to read that leaves you smiling wide by the end, this is definitely the story for you. I can't wait to see what else Ms. Harrison has up her sleeve. If you enjoy hot and smoldering sex, this is definitely right up your alley. Enjoy the delicious ride, I know I definitely did.
It delivered what it was promised in the blurb. Short, super insta everything. For those familiar with the Twilight books, it felt almost like that "imprinting " thing the wolves had. Lol. The hero here looked at the heroine ( I must say her ass was the 1st thing he saw LOL) and he felt she was the one. After this, it was history. Lol
This was a really short, sweet, insta love romance with some heat.
Ryan meets Julia at her job at the bakery while picking up a cake for his nephew. It is love and lust at first sight for both and they fall hard and fast. I loved both of them and the family. I really wished it was longer.
"Sweet like Candy" is Ryan and Julia's super sweet, insta love, short story. Ryan doesn't believe in love and commitment, having been celibate for so long.. until he goes to a bakery to collect his nephew Emmetts cake, and falls head over heels for Julia. She also feels the attraction, and soon, chemistry explodes. Saccharine sweet and has a great epilogue with HEA. Safe 4/5
Sugary sweet, over-the-top, love-at-first-sight goodness. Sweet Like Candy is like the perfect fantasy come true- a good looking, well-to-do, really good guy takes one look at you and falls head over heels. I'm not sure there's a woman out there who hasn't at some point had a dream like that! I know I hold out hope it could still happen for me!
Neither Ryan nor Julia was expecting to fall in love that day, but the moment they laid eyes on each other everything else fell to the wayside and they just knew their lives were about to change. Sometimes life has a way of giving us just what we need, just when we need it. And Julia and Ryan, for all their independence and acceptance with the way their lives were going, needed each other.
With 2 likeable characters, a family you'd be lucky to be a part of, and a darling little boy who sets everything in motion, Sweet Like Candy will make you believe in love at first sight.
Julia had been working on finding Mr. Right everywhere , but she's never been successful at it. Ryan was a workaholic who has not been in a relationship for years and he's not looking for one. Until he found The One at Sweet Like Candy. The minute he saw Julia at the bakeshop, he knew she was going to be his. So he wasted no time. He even changed his work schedule to be with his Sweetheart.
SWEET LIKE CANDY is a short but sweet insta-love romance. I loved the characters, Ryan and Julia, and find some of names of the secondary characters amusing. Everything about this book is refreshing. Evie Harrison is a promising author and I can't wait to read her next books.
I have received and read an advanced copy of this book and this is an honest and fair review happily and voluntarily shared.
Sweet Like Candy by Eva Harrison is a fantastic insta-love novella length romance that is sweet and perfect for all that is created by the author in this story- the title says it all. Ryan took his little nephew to pick up his birthday cake and that is when Ryan’s life changes. There was Julia , the baker, working in the bakery late when Ryan comes in and it’s like lighting between them . One look was all it took to knock Ryan to claim Julia , to make her his. For Julia, she hasn’t had the luck in finding her Mister Right but when Ryan comes into her life, its like he could be The One . Take one workaholic who has not been in a relationship for years and one sweet and adorable baker who has never the chance to meet Mister Right and this is the perfect romance and throw in the sexy and wicked bedroom scenes. This is the perfect romance to get lost in for the HEA factor.
My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This is Evie Harrison second book and I hope she continues with this same writing style because both books have been quite entertaining. If you like Alexa Riley, Fiona Davenport, and C.M. Steele then you'll love Evie Harrison. Ryan is 28 years old, a total workaholic who has no time for a date much less a girlfriend. When he was 16 his parents died and his 18 year old sister, Jamie gave up going to college so she could take care of him. She worked her ass off to make sure he went to college and he owes everything to her. She's now happily married with three children that he adores. When he takes his nephew to the bakery to pick up his birthday cake he sees the woman he knows he'll spend the rest of his life with. Julia works at Sweet Like Candy, a bakery and candy emporium. She's tried online dating, speed dating, and blind dates and none of them have worked out so she's given up finding Mr. Right. Until one day when the most handsome man she's ever seen comes into her bakery to pick up a cake for his nephew. The story was great and I loved the epilogue.
Ryan Walters didn't really have any interest in a relationship or hooking up with women, but when he sees Julia Kaye when picking up his nephews cake he is certain she is the one for him. Julia isn't sure what Ryan sees in her but agrees to a date. Ryan is ready to go all in, but can he convince Julia he is worth it.
This was fun but it was a bit forced in some spots. I liked that Ryan wasn't a player and he genuinely cares about Julia from the beginning. Would check out more from this author to see what else she has to offer.
This is my confession: I. LOVED. THIS. This is exactly why books like these are a guilty pleasure for so many. Julia and Ryan are so ridiculously sweet together. Like put your head in your palm and sigh kinds sweet. Great read if you love...love.
This was a super sweet and steamy insta love romance. While some times the insta love trope can be not so great, this one worked for me in a big way. It was just so sweet that I couldn't help but love it! ❤
