Bill Cush

Rate this book
This story takes you on a journey back through time to meet Bill Cush. His reputation as journalist, poet, artist, soldier and ardent adventurer was celebrated throughout Arkansas, in Indian Territory, Texas and Missouri. You’ll travel with him on an expedition with Cherokees across the Texas wilderness; you’re with him on the battlefield in 1847 as Zachary Taylor’s troops clash with Santa Anna’s army. In 1851 as Cush heads to the California gold fields, taking with him a journal and a sketchbook, you’re there too. You later go with him to the Florida Everglades and bring west the last Indians to relocate under this country’s policy of Indian Removal. At the beginning of the Civil War you and Cush join Albert Pike, under a Confederate flag, and ride into Indian Territory negotiating treaties with the Indian nations. You watch as Cush signs each treaty with a goose-quill pen. And you’ll witness much more.
